I have literally called them 10 times today and half a dozen times last week. No one ever answers or returns any calls, and their mailbox is always so you can't leave a message and they have no listed email or website. Completely unprofessional and appalling customer service. This is what I'm paying for. UPDATE: I hired another company and left a copy of my paid bill along with a note on the trashcan saying they could take the entire can. I put it next to my neighbor's can so they would be sure to see it. I came back to find that they took the effort to move the can back into my yard still full. That's not just bad service; that's just plain rude and spiteful. And, fyi, Alexander, in the state of NC any property left behind for more than 30 days is considered abandoned. So, you have until July 5, 2023 to remove your can from my property. Or I'll be happy to dispose of it on July 6th.

DO NOT choose this company to pick up your trash! It will NEVER be picked up on time. You will NEVER be told if it is running late. They will "accidentally" over charge your account hoping you won't notice until you bring it to their attention. They do not answer their phones, nor do they return calls. Please save yourself the headache of dealing with them. Not to mention the absolute attitude you'll be met with be the owner, she will definitely accuse you of not sitting out your trash before admitting they messed up. Joke of a company.

Upon moving back to NC, I contacted Alexander Waste Systems, Inc. for garbage service. (They returned my call after several messages left.) I have had several issues with this company. The day the gentleman delivered the trash can (only on Fridays) I gave him $40 cash. Bill $34 for May/June months - one can & one pick up per week. Payment in the form of cash, check, or money order. As neither of us had change, I was to be given a credit of $6 for next billing cycle (July/Aug/Sept). Also included were documents stating what they will and will not pick up, their policies/procedures, special pick up arrangements, etc. I contacted them the following end of week about a special pick up. Left message. While out, the call was returned. Message stated that I needed to send them payment immediately. That I had not paid and any further service I needed would not be available till payment received. This was left very nasty. I immediately return call (once again voice mail), told of giving driver $40 cash, time of delivery and that I was owed $6 credit. Told them to talk to driver as to were the money was. Shortly after received call stating they had talked to driver and he forgot to mark payment received on paper work and that they would apply $6 credit to next billing cycle. Explained need of special pick up, was given a long story as how it would be easier for me to just add extra garbage bags on pick up day & put cash in envelope taped to underside of trash can lid. I tried to explain that this wouldn't take care of all my garbage needs. Suddenly, a long story how now they don't pick this and that up. Frustrated, I thanked her and hung up. As the weeks went by, my garbage was picked up after 1030p at night or not even till the next day. This was very late and would disturb my three dogs into a barking fit. Not good for neighbors. My husband requested that I contacted them about acquiring a second trash can (I was previously told only one was allowed per household) as the need was there. I contacted them on June 16th (actually got a live person - first time). I told her of my needs and requested if available. Was told yes, price and that trash can would be delivered the next day (as it was Friday). Friday came & went - no second can. Monday - no can. Tuesday a bill for $34 for second can. I called, left message, did not receive 2nd can. Left another message on Wednesday. Still no return call from them. Called another garbage service on Thursday, June 21st arranged service with them. Contacted Alexander, message left that I was canceling garbage service with them (Do not deliver 2nd can on Friday). As I was paid up till June 30th, I would expect one more pick up on the following week, a refund of $6.00 for my credit of overpayment and the removal of their trash can. I have since left at least another six- eight messages for them to contact me, the trash can is still here, and no refund has been received. On July 19th, I received a bill for two months of service for 2 cans with a $6 credit added. I called & left message once again. The last time they picked up garbage here was June 29th (a day late) at 845a.m. I have had service with another company since July 1st (they are great!). As a last resort I am leaving this review in hopes they will receive it, pick up their can, give me my $6 and stop billing me. I would not recommend any body use this company!

The price is good - $34 for two months of service. The communication is lousy. The service is great when they show up. Sometimes they are a day or two late picking up the trash because of truck breakdowns. Today is Friday May 20th. Our garbage has not been picked up at all this week and despite numerous calls, no response from Alexander Waste. Garbage day was Monday. My neighbors use them as well and their garbage was not collected this week. For several blocks, all the Alexander Waste cans are still parked at the road. They have one job - pick up the trash and it seems to be too much to ask. I am searching for a new company.

Description of Work: I contacted Alexander Waste to handle garbage pick up and they were friendly courteous and informative. They sent information on their pickup schedule and costs. They have been very reliable and have never left trash behind and always leave the barrel in the right spot.
