 + -1 moreWe agreed on a price and Dan began the work right away. He advised on the type of plants to get for a shaded area and said we should get ones that were evergreen as well. He planted the plants amd mulched the area and it looked so nice. The grass struggled and died due to the heat of the summer, but Dan took his guarantee of getting grass to grow seriously and came back out once the weather cooled. This time the grass took instantly and looks great. There are still a few places that need to finish growing in, but the difference is amazing. We found out from Dan that he also did tree work and we have had him cut some trees down/top some trees off for us. He was able to get us a great price on stone for our dirt driveway to our shed and spread it out, he cleared some low hanging tree branches in our driveway. He came back out and cut out the web worm nests that were very high up out of our trees as well as our neighbor's trees, and has thrown in some of the work at no cost. Dan is great, very efficient and trys to find the best way to complete your work and will save you money if possible. We highly recommend him and plan to use him for other projects around our home. He is professional and true to his word, which is very hard to find in this day and age. He has great landscaping knowledge and will help you with decisions in this area. He even offered to pick plants up for us in Raleigh since he was heading down. Two of the plants we purchased and brought home died, and he planted their replacements for us. If you need landscaping work done, he should be your first choice!
Description of Work: Dan at Carolina Creations was one of several people we called to give us an estimate on doing some landscaping in our back yard. We had purchased the house in 2008 and had never been able to keep grass there. In extremely heavy rains, the water would race down the back yard, over and around the retaining wall and pool in the middle of the yard off our deck. He graded the yard and planted grass specific for mostly shaded area. We also wanted a mound of plants going down the whole back side of the house to the edge of the retaining wall. He came out to look over the work promptly and quickly got back with an estimate. Although he had several jobs going, he scheduled our work in amongst his current customers so we didn't have to wait for weeks.

 + -1 moreIt went well. Efficient, seamless with skill and expertise.
Description of Work: I had major ice storm damage of about 6-7 trees down due to extra large oak tree that came down. The result was a large jumbled mess that had to be painstakingly removed. The tree removal was extensive. Dan worked hard with helpers for 4 days to complete the work so the fence could be repaired. He worked tirelessly and showed how the 28 years of experience came in to play. The skill of chainsaw work and removal of heavy logs with a tractor made it look easy. The extras that Dan provided that was not part of the contract was noted and well appreciated. He can provide complete landscape and tree service. I would strongly suggest using this company. He is tried and true. Quality job at reasonable prices.

 + -1 moreDan was here for 4-5 visits and multiple hours. He was very interested in pleasing the customer. Plan was reviewed and followed. He has 28 years of landscape experience and is not afraid of hard work. He has a good eye on design and final outcome. Knows how to guide customers along with his wisdom for those who need guidance. I'll be needing Dan for a long time to get things in shape.
Description of Work: Full landscaping for fall. Dethached, re-seeded, applied fertilizer and lime, cut back and manicures overgrowth of bushes, vines and ivey, etc. removed cuttings, He has helped save some trees with trimming and plan to remove a dead tree soon.
