It is a continous process. They show up once a week for lawn care and do an excellent job. Depending on the time of year, they do various jobs. We started using him in December and, ,so far, I have been very pleased.

Jon and his team are responsive, punctual and hard-working. There were changes to the plan based on input from my spouse (who originally didn't want to be involved and then had strong opinions); Jon worked with us and rolled with the changes without a lot of fuss or drama, which I really appreciated. He made sure my spouse was satisfied with the work. It was an extensive amount of work, and I am really pleased with the results. Jon came out special to walk me through the irrigation operation as I had been called away on a business trip and was not there when work concluded. We will be working with him this autumn on the plan for the backyard.

Jon and his crew were friendly, competent, and very professional. They did excellent work and I am very proud of the finished patio. I would highly recommend then them to anyone needed similiar work done. I know they will be pleased with the finished product and the work process and how neat everything is when they finish.

The work was done in an excellent, first rate manner with thoroughness, skill, and professionalism. The workmen arrived on time first thing in the morning, worked like dogs most all day, and finished by about 4pm. The owner was right there working with them most of the time, and he definitely closely supervised to insure a high quality, meticulous job. It was an impressive thing to watch, those guys worked hard on their hands and knees in the dirt and stone dust for hours, moving heavy stone and pavers, never complained, exhibited outstanding work ethics and good attitudes, were very courteous, and did a very high quality job. Not only was the end result great looking and solidly done, but they went to great lengths to save my new sod which they worked on top of with heavy machines. They also cleaned up the entire area from the street, all the way up my driveway and carport, and the entire side of the backyard area they worked in. Outstanding contractor performance and results!

The deal was purchased in February. In March payment was made. The project was completed yesterday, May 31. That is 3 months from start to finish. I did not complaint about the price, I stated what the price was. Your price was reasonable it is $650 charge from Knightdale that I see as being extortion. My complaint is that it should not have taken 3 months. It may be that both Raleigh and Knightdale had some red tape but jour job should include navigating thru that. It should not have taken that long to find out I needed to make a phone call to set up another water account and schedule a date for meter instillation. In the interim my yard looked like h***, I was unable to reseed my lawn or plant my flower beds. So even though the moat been filled in it is to late in the season to do anything with this yard. Not having to pay that last $650 would have gone a long way to improve my satisfaction by compensating for delays and inconveniences.

The finished product and job looks wonderful. The original estimate was 4-6 weeks before they would have an opening to perform the job. Jon had an opportunity to do it sooner and called the night before they started. My wife spoke with Jon that evening (I was already at the campground) and informed him she would only be available on Thursday as we would be out of town Friday through Wednesday of the following week and would not be there to open the gates to the property. She understood it would be a one day job and Jon did not understand that he would not have access to the property on Friday to complete the job. When the crew left before the job was done she called and emailed to leave messages to schedule finishing the project. Around 9 P.M. that night I finally spoke with Carmen and made sure their crew wasn't going to show up Friday morning to finish when they couldn't get in and to schedule the completion. Jon and his crew showed-up and completed the job as scheduled, they cleaned-up the area and have given me a beautiful circular patio in my garden.

Jon was very detail oriented and knowledgeable in all areas or irrigating our rural property watered with a well pump. There were several types of equipment that were included in the proposal ensuring that we had water pressure and sediment would not block the lines or valves. The install was efficient and crew were very neat and cleaned up upon completion. Jon came back out to explain the operation of the system and how to program. We are very happy with the result and will definitely call back for future needs.

Jon and his crew were on top of every detail. Jon suggested improvements as the project went along; some at no-cost (e.g., a step up to the walkway) and others at a very reasonable cost (e.g., added lighting). He was recommended to me, and I am glad I chose him for my project. Two of my neighbors who watched Jon and his crew have engaged Hutchins Landscaping for their projects.

They did a great job. They started the job on time, They finished on time and under budget. Jon and his workers were very professional and respectful of my property. They were adaptable when I wanted to do things that we had not discussed ahead of time. I felt that Jon was generous in his dealings with me. The best part was that he went out of his way to leave my yard looking as if no construction had taken place. After the job was over, he came back and brought some sand for a project I'm doing and didn't even charge me for it. I would recommend him and his subcontractor, Billy Hughes, to a friend without reservation.

Our entire experience with Hutchins Landscaping was outstanding. Jon Hutchins is very professional and knowledgeable. I initially contacted him by phone and left a message. He promptly returned my call and answered all of my questions about the installation of sod. He said that he would be happy to come to my house and look at our yard and provide us with an estimate. Shortly, there after he came to our house and spent a lot of time looking at the yard, listening to what I wanted, and explaining how he would do the job. He also suggested a wonderful idea of making a flower bed near an existing group of trees. It was a super idea and we did ultimately did go forward with his suggestion. What I liked about our first meeting is that Jon was able to give us an estimate right on the spot. He carefully measured the area, took notes and within 10 minutes gave us a dollar amount. I was very impressed with his quote, because I had contacted another company and they were more expensive and didn't even take the time to measure the area. The estimator, basically just " eye-balled" where I wanted the lawn and came up with a price. On the day of the install, Jon and his crew arrived right on time and were very courteous. Before beginning the work, Jon once again went over the steps of the installation. When the job was done his crew did a great job in cleaning up the driveway; there was not a speck of soil or mulch. It actually looked cleaner then before starting the job!! I know this is a long review, but I can't express enough how pleased my husband and I are that we chose Hutchins Landscape. You will not be disappointed.

For some time I had noticed large dead limbs in my back yard and I was worried that a limb might fall on someone or one of my grand dogs. I also have two crepe myrtle trees in the front yard by the driveway and they needed pruning. I contacted Mr. Hutchins whom a friend had used and recommended, and I asked him to come help me determine what I needed done and to give me a cost estimate. He came promptly and listened well. In addition to agreeing with what I was proposing to have done, he also advised me to remove the Bradford Pear tree close to the front of my house before it got any bigger and became a problem. He pointed out that because my back yard is fenced in and the access to the back of the house narrow, it would not be possible to bring large equipment into the area to access limbs high up off the ground. Having a skilled tree climber would be essential. In order to give me a quote he would have to have the tree man he uses regularly to come look at the trees and confer with him about his fee. He came by a day or two later and gave me the quote and established that the work would be done the next week. He said it would probably take two or two and a half days to get the work done. He said he would come by regularly to supervise the job. I thought his quote was high but I had no prior experience with tree removal and pruning jobs on this scale and I was eager to get the job done right away so I agreed to the terms of his proposal. He assured me it was a good price and the reviews on Angie's List attested to his integrity and sincerity. He provided me proof of his insurance which was a key factor for me in making my decision. Witnessing what it required to climb the massive trees and cut the limbs, and the number of trips made to dispose of the limbs and debris, I decided that I was not overcharged. Everything happened as he described and I was pleased with the results.

Excellent and professional work. He and his crew came in and performed all the work quick and efficiently. They listened to my requests and made sure I was very satisfied when they finished.

The service and attention to detail were excellent. I don't know what more we could possibly have expected. Jon came to our house at least three times to formulate and revise the plans, then he and his crew performed all the work carefully and on time--and the place now looks vastly better, just as he had promised. We would not hesitate to hire him again. He's easy to work with, punctual, polite and eager to please. Hutchins Landscaping has our highest recommendation.

My yard looks great!! Everything went smoothly. Jon came up with a few ways to cut costs for me and was very pleasant. I will be using them again! As soon as I am done paying for this job.

I inherited an overgrown and randomly planted landscape when I bought my house. the bed lines were awful, the plants were crowded and made no design sense, several trees were too close to the house...it was awful. Jon re-planted as many of the existing plants as we could use, moved several trees away from the house, changed the bed-lines from huge and awkward to beds that really set-off the house. He replaced two dead builder street trees which our HOA would not deal with, planted new trees and shrubs, re-sodded areas where the big ugly beds used to be, and corrected serious problems with the irrigation and lighting systems. Everything was planted in amended soil with correct drainage. Then he filled in the beds with beautiful petunias. everything looks fantastic! His crew is so nice, punctual and respectful of my property. They were very pleasant to be around. They even power washed my walk and driveway to make sure there was no mud or dirt to track in the house. This was a big job and I am so glad I trusted Jon with it. Highly recommend!

I had 7 trees cut down a month ago and my yard was torn up along with the stumps left behind. His wife was most pleasant on the phone. She actually returned my call when others did not. Jon came and I told him what I wanted. He looked for ways to help decrease cost which was very helpful to me. Once this is paid for I will have to find something else for him to do. My yard looks great.

John provided a detailed estimate for our mutual agreement and adjusted that estimate without question when we provided further detail on what we wanted. His estimate for the scope of work was very reasonable in my experience. He and his crew worked around out-of-town travel we had planned conducting part of the work before we left and promptly finishing it when we returned. His crew were expert and very professional ensuring a neat and clean work area the entire time. John shared his considerable knowledge about how best to maintain our lawn and landscaping and only offered additional services when we asked. This work was well worth our investment and we'll look forward to working with John and his crew in the future.

I chose Hutchins Landscape and Lawn Maintenance to do lawn maintenance because they fit what I was looking for -- a small, family run business close to my home with great reviews. The owner, Jon Hutchins, stopped by my home to give an estimate for the work I wanted. He listened carefully, answered my questions, and made a good impression on me. I asked and received a copy of the firm?s certificate of liability insurance, and he and his crew arrived to complete the job. The crew worked diligently and did an excellent job trimming back spent flowers, shaping shrubbery, and edging the long driveway. There?s more work to be done in the yard, so I plan on recontacting them this fall. I am pleased with their work.

They were very prompt and extremely hard working. They even trimmed some trees that were encroaching on the house without my asking! Everything was done to perfection. They even finished by blowing off my deck, sidewalk and driveway, even though they didn't use them! I will definitely use them again.

Jon was initially brought out to help us find a solution for the excessive amount of water collecting in our backyard. We interviewed many contractors for the job, because this was the third time we were having someone come ?fix? the drainage issues. I was impressed with Jon immediately, not only were his ideas new, but he seemed to truly listen to the issues. He was ultimately hired, because he was easy to communicate with, I felt comfortable telling him my likes and dislikes. During the excavation of the patio, Jon expressed his concern regarding the magnitude of water that was emitting from the soil. I was impressed that Jon took it upon himself to bring a soil expert out to evaluate the soil and ensure that he was taking the proper steps in managing our problem. Further, Jon went above and beyond the agreed upon scope of work by grading our backyard and creating swails to navigate the water into the newly installed drains. Similarly, Jon added an additional French drain under the patio that was not discussed prior to the project. Approximately half way through the project, Jon approached me with a foreseeable problem with the design we had agreed upon. He presented the problem and followed it up with a solution, which I appreciated. I loved his idea of a retaining wall and knew that it was a necessity given the water issues we?ve been having. There were a few hurdles, as expected with any contractor. The first being that there was a need for more materials than expected, and while I was frustrated at the additional cost, there was no way Jon could have foreseen the problem. The second issue centered around the shape of the patio, while we?d always discussed a semi-circular shape, he suggested we change it to a rectangular shape to increase the square footage of the patio. While I appreciated his insight, I wish we would have discussed it at an earlier meeting. The third, and final issue, was the length of the retaining wall. Although the wall was decided last minute, I was under the impression that the wall was going to stop at one particular location, when instead it expanded further than thought. I was pleasantly surprised by the length of the wall, however, it spanned the intended walkway. Thankfully, my husband had noticed and informed the crew before they started bonding the materials. The crew politely took apart the wall and we all decided on a solution at the last minute. I was so thankful for Jon and his two team members. I felt comfortable expressing my concerns throughout the project and felt like Jon went out of his way to address and fix them. He and his team were polite, considerate and often times we wouldn?t even know they were at the house working. We have every intention to bring Jon and his team back to help us complete our backyard. While there were some hurdles, we are extremely happy with the end product of the job and we HIGHLY recommend Hutchins landscaping!

They did a great job. They cut the cable line in the new house when they were trimming the bushes. They were real honest about it. They said they will come and fix it or pay for the damage. They were prompt. I walked around the yard with them and showed them things to be done. I showed a little area with big blueberry plants and peonies that had been there for years. When I came back at the end of the day they had cut down half of the blueberry plants and peonies. They said they were working a little fast and accidently hit the peonies. When it comes to quality, that is kind of sloppy. But I was happy to have the work done.

They weren't able to solve our problem so we had to go elsewhere. We recently moved in. We're having trouble getting the sprinkler system to work and they came in and checked through and couldn't figure out how to get it to work either. They were very nice. We had to wait a long time for them to come because they were very busy. They were polite and honest. They were frustrated but they continued to be polite and tried many different things and then they said, "Well, we don't know." We had appointments made on many different dates that they either didn't show up or cancelled at the last minute.

Jon was able to fit us into the schedule earlier than anticipated, which we were happy about. He was responsive and professional, the price was reasonable, and he's just overall a nice guy. He and his crew did an awesome job. Everyone was very professional, attentive to details, and worked hard. Our yard looks the best it has in years! I would highly recommend their services and we will be using them in the future.
