There is a reason this company has been voted Best of the Best in this area for the last 2 years. Their service was exceptional in every way. The salesperson came out for an estimate, and was thorough, friendly and professional. Installation was started right on time and the work was completed with expertise and efficiency. After the installation was complete, the owner came to our home to ensure our satisfaction and to inspect the work. As a realtor, I have worked with many HVAC companies, and this company provided by far the best service.

He came out and he went in my attic. He spent a lot of time talking about it letting me know that it wasn't vented outside. He said that he would give me an estimate for that and for routine service for my heating and air 'cause I don't have a regular person for that. The next day, I called and said that I hadn't received anything yet and they didn't have any paperwork about his visit at that time so then I waited a week. I called 4 times. Once I called on a weekend and somebody was kind enough to call me back and say that he would make sure that he got my phone call and I still didn't hear anything. The woman told me that he is very busy and told me that she would call me back with something but she still didn't call me back. I was really upset that nobody has called me back. I still have not heard from them. It's not right that they get an A rating and that they're going to get more business and I've just wasted my time. I'm just totally frustrated and insulted and angry.

After having met with 3 other Heating and Air companies to get various opinions on my situation, I selected Mitchell's Heating and air. The knowledge of the technician/saleman in the way in which he presented my options, answered my questions and put together a proposal for me was superior to the other 3 companies. The installation was done in a timely fashion and without complications, I would and have recommended them to others in need of a heating and air specialists.

Being somewhat new to the area, we interviewed 4 companies and decided on Mitchell Heating and Cooling. From our initial call to Mitchell H&C they were very professional, personal, and responsive to the needs of our situation; no air conditioning and 90 degree heat! Throughout the entire replacement, from the estimate, to deciding on the unit, to getting it installed in a timely manner, they were great. They showed up when they said they would, every person we spoke to was very educated and knowledgeable about what he was doing. In fact, the owner and the sales person hold engineering degrees. After the unit was installed, the owner spent a lot of time making sure everything was charged properly and working most efficiently. Mitchell H&C will be our service provider of choice from now on due to their professionalism, responsiveness, quality of work, and price. They are a family business that prides themselves in good quality work and integrity. Very rare! Just a note of caution to Angie subscribers - we were leery of the company that claimed to have over 500 great reviews claiming to be in business since 1984. When we called the company to inquired further, they were really a new company to NC: the owner had purchased an existing company in South Carolina a few years ago that was established by someone else in 1984. Make sure to check the facts.

First of all, I have used them before and was mighty impressed with the service. From the first phone call, they trouble shooted the system with me over the phone, instructing on how to nurse the system along without further possible damage until they could get there. Response was swift in both cases. On the first call, some years back, they replaced a air handling fan at a fraction of the cost the big names in the field quoted. They also found where the heating elements had never been connected during the initial instillation of the unit. The whole thing was sorted in the same miserably hot day. Today's trip found some insects that had got into the unit and stopped a relay from functioning preventing, the compressor from working. Also they found one leg of switch that was faulty. I can't stress enough, the professionalism and courtsy of the technician who took the time to explain the problem and remedie along with suggestions to prevent further problems. I highly recommend this company.

Billy was very professional and courteous over the phone- also called to let me know that a technician (Richard) was on his way. Richard was also professional and courteous. I now have Mitchell heating and cooling on speed dial for all my HVAC needs in the future. Very satisfied.

Rich arrived on time and quickly found the problem with my system. He explained everything as he performed the service. Rich was very professional and personable. He answered all my questions with the appropriate level of technical detail.

They were great...from start to finish. Actually started the process of getting quotes back in summer of 2012 but just was not ready to spend the money and have work done until this spring. They respected that and did not pester me about it. But when I called back to say I was ready to proceed they were very responsive. I had them go back and tweak the quotes a bit for some things that were not part of the quotes originally and everything came in almost exactly where the quotes were from last summer! They showed up that morning to do install - right on time I might add! - and were there for a good solid 11 - 12 hours. And the owner (Alan) came out toward end of the day to be sure that all was done correctly and to my satisfaction. And then he is the one who stayed until about 8:00 that night doing all the final testing, getting all settings adjusted, showing me how to clean filtering system, setting up programmable thermostat and getting app downloaded/installed on my mobile devices so that we could use all the bells & whistles of the new system remotely. This is EXCELLENT company...they do what they promise and get it done when they promise!

We had Mitchell Heating & Cooling, Inc come out to ensure our heating system was working properly. They came out when promised and did a thorough check of the system. They explained what they did every step of the way. We were impressed with their knowledge and would recomend them.

Allen Mitchell is the consummate small business professional. I called and left a message; Billie (his assistant (?) called me back within an hour and arranged an appointment. Allen called ahead to let me know that he would be 15 minutes late. I like that. He didn't mind me watching him work and explained things as he went in layman's terms. But more importantly, he explained that my High Efficiency A/C system was costing me money because the company that replaced it did not install a second cold-air return. Consequently, I'm not getting the most out of my HVAC system and it is costing me a lot in terms of electricity. His solution is not that complicated and I will be getting a quote from him soon. I highly recommend Mitchell Heating & Cooling. His work is excellent, his price is fair and he is easy to talk with.

The service agent, Richard, showed up exactly when we were told he would. He assessed the situation and gave us an estimate of what it would cost to fix the switch and to service the unit. He kept us informed of what he was doing throughout the process, taking the time to explain what replacing the part would do and giving other general information regarding our system. He performed all of the repairs and service in just over an hour, then took some time at the end to talk to us about the overall functioning of the unit. He was extremely professional, outgoing, and knowledgable. The best part was that his final cost came back a bit less than his initial estimate! We will definitely use Mitchell Heating & Air for any future HVAC needs.

I had my heating system serviced and inspected. I had skipped the yearly service to try and save money and since the units were fairly new I figured that it wasn't really needed but I was wrong. On 1 unit a piece of insulation had delaminated on the inside of the unit and was smothering the blower for sometime. The insulation was charred and beginning to breakdown and was also restricting the airflow on the blower and making the blower work much harder to move air The technician pointed out what he found and remedied the problem at no extra charge. I will be calling soon to have my ac units serviced and I will be using Mitchell Heating and Cooling.

I have been using Mitchell Heating & Air for about 3 yrs. I found them on Angie's list & cannot say enough wonderful things about them! They have become my heating and air company and now do my regular servicing. The staff and Billie & Alan owners, are the best & make you feel like part of the family. They always remember my name & the services they have provided for me. True professionals with the home town touch. I do recommend them to everyone!

The technician arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem. He reported that the part might be under warranty and would not accept payment until he was sure. He sent a bill later and gave me credit for the part that was indeed still under warranty. I would like to replace my unit in the near future and will definitely call this company first to get an estimate. Overall my experience was very positive.

They bill me per visit. I don?t have a service contract with them. I like them very much. They are a local company. Mr Mike Mitchell is the owner of the company. His wife handles the phone calls. They are very easy to deal with especially on my rental property. I call them up and they go out and do what needs to be done. They never have tried to up sell me anything. They send me a bill after the work is completed. It?s very convenient. Their price is competitive. I have been using them for the last 2 years. If there is any problem with the heating and air conditioning system at my rental property my tenants call them up directly. Mr. Mitchell gives me a call and informs me about the tenant?s request. When I agree to it they go out and complete the work.

He was clean, courteous & I asked him about signing a contract with them. I would DEFINITELY recommend!

Mitchell was scheduled to do the install on the rainy Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Despite the horrible weather, swampy ground, and the long awkward carry from the parking lot to behind my townhouse, they got the unit installed for me by 4pm on Wednesday. They knew I had been without heat for 5 days, and were anxious to get it installed for me before the holiday. I can't say enough about good things about this company. They were professional, worked quickly and efficiently, and were a pleasure to deal with. They're a small family-owned company, and two of the Mitchell family were on-site for the install, along with two helpers. I still don't know how they managed to carry the heavy unit through the muddy yard up the steep slope to the back of my townhouse. Although they're based in Rolesville, it was not a problem for them to do the installation at my N Raleigh house (Spring Forest/Falls of Neuse area). I cannot recommend them highly enough.
