+ 0 moreI did not get a call or an email back after the submission of my email was sent. I called a week later and was told I would get a call stating what the quote was going to be. I still (after 2 weeks) have yet to receive any type of quote. I will not be using this company for my residential needs in fear of the company not showing customer satisfaction out of the gate. But thank you to Seegars for showing me in advance what kind of company you are.

We had some issuses with some cracked boards and they promptly fixed them for us. Overall, my husband and I are highly satisfied with our new fence. I would definealy recommend Seegars Fence Co. A+ work

Description of Work: Fence was installed incorrectly. 4 x 4's were used to support fence which was hung with decking board. Fence fell during a windy day and Seegars would not work with me in anyway. My father in law is a master carpenter and he confirmed that 4x4's could not withstand the weight of decking panels. Will not use Seegars or recommend anybody to use.

+ -1 moreWe met the estimator at our house on June 30th and walked through where we would like the fence installed. Estimator said he would send us a written estimate that evening. We were impressed with the professionalism of the estimator at the time. We did not receive the estimate until five days later. The price was about what we were expecting, but it was for a 6ft fence instead of the 8 ft fence we had discussed. We tried to call the company several times in the early afternoon to clear up the issue, but no one ever answered the phone. My guess is that the company is just really busy, but the delay and the errors make me wary. I will not be hiring Seegars because I'm afraid this is a reflection of their punctuality, customer service, and attention to detail.
Description of Work: Provided estimate to install 102 linear feet of 8 ft privacy fencing in my back yard.

+ -1 moreTheir estimate was for $2500. I called to schedule an appointment. My husband worked in the third shift and so, it was important that they kept to the appointment. The gentleman arrived for the appointment three hours early without calling and banged on the door. It was not a very good experience. I called their main office and expressed my concern and that was the end of it. The gentleman came back at the normal appointment time and did the estimate. His excuse was that he was in the area. I am currently still getting estimates and maybe it is something that we would do on our own. However, I will probably not go with them because of their professionalism. Their price was good. I would possibly get an estimate from them in the future.
Description of Work: I received an estimate from Seegars Fence Company on the 4th of October 2011.

+ -1 moreSeegar responded with an estimate within 2 days and once contracted, made arrangements to make the repairs within 5 days. Their representative did the work and everything is great NOW! Fence is taught and all gates are operable.
Description of Work: New fence had been improperly installed by Johnson Fence/Roxboro Fence and we could not open/close 3 out of 4 gate entry ways; we also found out that the posts were not in the ground securely and the fencing was loose so, we had to hire another fence company to come out and make the repairs/adjustments as necessary.

+ -1 moreUpdate as of June 3, 2009: PROJECT STILL NOT COMPLETED!!! Another week and a half of run around by owner of company, Jason, who continually back-tracks, passes the buck, hasn't done the job and continues to negate contact with status reports, completion date, etc. We've been told the main gates (measured wrong a SECOND time) have had to be constructed from a higher grade material due to size. Huge metal support poles cemented in at each end of driveway must be removed, then reinstalled in proper place with bigger support poles. Project over-budgeted $950.00 from contracted price of fence/gates-on top of the over $450.00 for 2" ball caps which were never ordered by estimator Tony Smith. Seegar's also installed giant, ugly plastic gate locks/latches without our approval, as well as plastic hinges on two smaller walkway gates which Seegar's says are "much more durable," but look cheap and worthless on a project costing nearly $10K! AGAIN, STILL UNFINISHED! No calls from either Jason Daniels or Jason Chamberlin (owners), regarding status of modified gates or completion date. Absolutely the most unreliable, unprofessional company we've done business with in years! BUYERS BEWARE! THINK MORE THAN TWICE BEFORE CONTRACTING WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! Nearly seven weeks since initial contact with company-contracted to begin work on April 27, 2009-and project remains incomplete. Gates (two walkway and two 18' driveway gates) still not built, nor has there been any status given on progress or installation. No reason why the two walkway gates haven't been hung. Neighbors ask how long it's going to take to finish-so, WE TELL THEM!!!! WE DON'T HAVE A CLUE!!! All we know is, we hope Seegar's Fence company can afford the publicity which will result from this nightmare experience! We tell everyone we know, NOT TO USE THIS FENCE COMPANY, and shall continue to do so for years to come! If Seegar's Fence Company thinks they're hanging any of their signage on our fence, either, they have another thing coming! Who would advertise such adversity!
Description of Work: Estimator measured driveway for gates incorrectly. Told estimate would arrive via email in two days which didn't happen. Had to call office to get customer service person on telephone to send via fax. Told project would start in 1 week after 25% deposit paid, which didn't happen. Estimator didn't order 2" ball caps for fence. Called to inquire and he told me we never discussed ball caps. I have every date and time and conversation noted and told estimator time, date and discussion of ball cap order. Estimator said,"we'll just add those onto the final bill. Don't worry about it." STILL he lied and said I "didn't want" the ball caps. Project start date delayed numerous times-no calls to inform crew wouldn't be working-they simply didn't show up. No calls/information as to when crews would work. Some days they were here four hours-others three hours-then not show up for days! Fence installer (Mike) very proficient and hard working. Worked very well when he was here. Jason Daniels (owner) and Tony Smith (estimator) very condescending and rude. I fired Tony Smith from the job due to his unprofessionalism and "yelling"over the phone and irresponsibility. He stated said, "look bub!" in our last conversation and insinuated I was a liar numerous times. Work now over four weeks down range and project still not completed-wrong gates/wrong size gates/damaged gate. Haven't shown up for the last five days to finish/correct project. Called Jason Daniels office twice-left VM's. Have not called back, still no resolution. Deplorable service. Excuse after excuse. Made me feel like a second class citizen with tones in voice, innuendos and condescending attitude toward this project. This project was very expensive and we're very displeased at the lack of professionalism, no prompt resolutions to questions, comments or concerns on the project, and would never refer this fence company to anyone. Think long and hard before calling the Durham office for this residential fencing projects. Update: Project over one month old-still not completed. Still no gates installed. Jason Daniels tried to piece-meal driveway gates, then black spray paint sections on black 18.5' gates which looked awful. My partner has had negative interface with this company as well. No calls back, wrong measurements, tried to install damaged gates. Nightmare! Hope to complete project as soon as possible, but it's highly unlikely. Do take copious notes, get start/completion dates down on contract. Have every detail about project listed on contract and have revised contract signed before further work is attempted.

Description of Work: Seegar's of Hillsborough, NC. After initial estimate got no follow-up to my emails or calls. I was hoping to order a cheaper fencing (initial estimate was over $6200 for 300 linear feet) and saleperson seemed not interested in making a sale.

+ -1 moreThe actually installation was done quickly, professionally and with good quality. There was a small problem in executing the contract. A deposit for the project was mailed to the company. But after a week, they said that it had not been received. As it turns out, the deposit was received, but was misfiled against a different project. This delayed the start of the project by about 1 week.
