"I contacted KitchenTuneUp/BathTune-Up to get an estimate to remodel my master bathroom and kitchen. Tom Taube came to my home and listened to what I disliked about the current spaces. We discussed ways to make a bigger shower and gain more storage space in the bathroom. In the kitchen, I had dark cabinets I wanted to update but stay affordable. I also wanted to keep my granite countertops. I disliked my "closet" pantry. I received very comprehensive proposals listing out not just what labor was to be performed but also budgeted items for materials so that I would have a full understanding of how much the remodels would actually cost me. I started these remodels right before the pandemic started in March of 2020. And even though there were a few delays caused by the virus, my projects went very smoothly. I was provided an online schedule of activities so that I would know who was coming and what they were doing (when my dumpster would arrive, drywalling, plumbing work, painting, tiling work, etc.). I liked that there was a final walkthrough before final payment was made so that I could address any issues I saw after the work had been completed. I love my new bathroom and kitchen now (after 20 years of hating them). I find that the bathroom is part of my sanctuary to relax and renew myself. My kitchen is now updated and beautiful with exceptional storage. I no longer have to store appliances and dishes in my bedroom closets. Bathroom: $37,000 (new shower, freestanding tub with tub filler, new vanity with new countertop, fixtures and sinks, new toilet, new cabinet over toilet); Kitchen $30,000 (cabinet redoor with box painting and new cabinets along with a custom island to house a drawer microwave). "Awful. Bob Dewhurst started the job on March 1, 2021. Was supposed to take 3-5 days. As of May 27, 2021 he has not completed our bathroom and the work that has been done needs to be redone. Shower pan leaks, Onyx walls are bowing, there is a crack in one of the Onyx walls that his crew tried to hide from us with silicone. We have paid him money and he will complete job. If you use him make sure you have an attorney on retainer."
