I recently tried to schedule a carpet cleaning as a wedding gift for some close friends who were moving from the Greensboro, NC area to Halifax, NC to begin their new lives. I called Econo Clean to try and schedule a simple carpet cleaning prior to the newlyweds arriving in Halifax. This was one of the worst experiences I have had in dealing with a and quot;professional servicesand quot; company, and I deal with building contractors, painters, and cleaning companies for a living. I have owned a Real Estate firm in Greensboro, NC since 2001, and I have worked with many service companies and independent contractors for over 13 years; therefore, I am well versed in what GOOD professional service is and should be. The representative for this business was named Jody. To say the least, he lacked phone etiquette, and over all social skills. To put it simply, he was one of the rudest and most unprofessional individuals whom I have ever dealt with. From the time he answered the phone until the time he hung up on me, he would never once allow me to finish a sentence. He just droned on about how busy they were due to pipes bursting from the winter freezes and that he would let me know when he could get to it. I called on a Tuesday morning. He first told me that there was no way they could get to it on Tuesday or Wednesday, but that he could definitely do it on Thursday... After many interruptions by Jody, I told him that Thursday would be acceptable due to the fact that the newlyweds would not be arriving in Halifax until Friday afternoon which would give the carpets time to dry and make the job easier since there would be no furniture present. Jody then told me he could not promise me Thursday, nor could he give me a window of time. I proceeded to give him multiple opportunities to see if he could solidify a specific day and time in their company's schedule, and he simply refused to work with me in trying to commit to a day and time. Jody finally started to say that he could do Thursday from noon until 6:00pm. I told him that would work, but then once again he and quot;flip floppedand quot; and told me he couldn't promise anything and that he would call me sometime on Wednesday to tell me if he could and quot;work it outand quot; for either Thursday or Friday. I tried once again to explain that I needed him to at least commit to a window of time on a specific date due to the constraints of the homeowner's job. He repeatedly interrupted me, told me that I should just get someone else, and then he proceeded to hang up on me. This representative behaved like a child rather than a professional. It amazes me that this company ever got a positive review on Angie's List. NOT THE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS.
Description of Work: The provider did absolutely nothing other than behave in a rude and unprofessional manner while I attempted to set an appointment. He refused to give me a day or a time no matter how nicely I approached the matter. Every time he would commit on an actual available day to schedule the carpet cleaning he proceeded to turn around and flip flop, saying that he couldn't promise anything. I repeatedly said that I would have to have a specific day and window of time due to the fact that the client was a government employee who has a very strict work schedule. The representative told me that I should call someone else, and then he hung up.

I had just moved into the area and needed the carpet in the rental house I was renting cleaned. I thought it was gonna be useless, but at least it would get the dirt out. I called this company out of the phone book at random. I got a full EXACT quote over the phone. The carpet looked great, and the one technician even explained to me why some areas still looked dark and dingy. I learned something new about carpet fiber and cleaning that day. The guys (Mark and Andy) were courteous, on time, and took great detail in getting my carpet back to its cleanest. If you live in the area and need your carpet cleaned by two professionals.... Call them! I did find out that they are IICRC certified (http://iicrc.org/) and apparently thats pretty important in this line of work. I would suggest calling ahead of time. I had to make my appointment a week out because they were in the middle of some water and smoke damage stuff they said. They apparently do insurance work as well if you have a fire, flood, or mold damage. I wouldn't use anyone else. These guys were great.
Description of Work: I had 3 rooms of carpet cleaned and had them apply a deodorizer due to a slight smell of cat and dog in the house I had recently rented.
