I contacted Scott (owner) after losing faith in DownEast heating and A/C. I had given them a number of chances to fix the problem, but it was never corrected. I explained what had been done in the past, to the best of my abilities, and Scott said he would come out to check the system out. Scott worked around my and my wife's schedules to find a suitable time and date as quickly as possible. He was professional and courteous from the start, a far cry from the other company. He diagnosed a faulty valve and ordered the part. The part arrived on a Friday, but Scott was willing to come out on Saturday to install it since it had been particularly hot. A week later, the family took a 2 week vacation. When we got home Monday night, the A/C was out again. I called Scott early the next morning and he came that day. That is when the leak in the coil was discovered. He even took me to the attic to show me where the system was leaking. He recharged the system and ordered the part to fix this problem. Again the part arrived on Friday evening. Scott and I had agreed to a Monday morning install. However, later in the evening, I got another call from Scott asking if he could do the install tomorrow morning instead, another Saturday. Scott arrived on schedule and had the coil replaced, installed a filter (to prevent the problem from happening again), and recharged the system in one and one half hours. Again, the level of professionalism Scott showed throughout this process has been fantastic. He updated me everytime something changed, a part arrived, even the conversation he had with Lennox to determine why the part had failed when it was only six years old. While I am not thrilled with the money I had to spend and will never buy another Lennox product, dealing with Scott made it a whole lot easier and I don't feel like I was ripped off or overcharged for anything. Barring moving out of state, I don't believe I shall ever seek another HVAC contractor.
Description of Work: On-going problems with central A/C that have been misdiagnosed by the company that did the original installation. Diagnosed a bad TXV and fixed which lead to the discovery of a leak in the indoor coil. Coil was replaced today.
