+ -1 moreWe found three locksmiths in our area through the Yellow Pages. One never returned our call, one wanted $100 just to come out to the house, and then there was Waldo. We scheduled Waldo to come to the house the day after we closed the sale, but since we were in the area with nothing to do but clean clean clean the property, we decided to give him a call and see if there was a chance that he might be able to change our locks a day early. There was, and he did. Waldo got straight to work, determined exactly what we needed (even helped us with the garage doors and another door that we just couldn't get to open), and changed all of our locks--four doors, five locks. AND he made sure we knew that one of our door lock assemblies was very nice, very old, and very expensive; and he warned us not to let anyone try to "replace" it for us. From start to finish, Waldo Smith was professional, courteous, informative, and friendly. And his rates were shockingly reasonable, too.
Description of Work: Waldo Smith came out to the house that I'd just purchased, and changed the locks on four outer doors. He also helped open two garage doors that I couldn't get to open, and showed me how open a double side door that I'd thought was sealed for life.

+ -1 moreHe never called. He never showed. He never did the work. We are still in need of help so I would have to say that it did not go so well at all, to use nice language.
Description of Work: I began calling Waldo Smith Locksmith at 7:30 am on Thursday, September 12, 2013, with an urgent need for his services on behalf of my elderly 89-year-old mother. We needed a lock replaced and of course the new keys to go tieh it. Mr. Waldo promised to take care of the problem that day, hopefully that morning, and would call me back ASAP. Thursday came and went, no call. Friday, September 13, came and went without word from Waldo. I called him twice, left pages and voicemails and he did not return my calls. it is now Saturday, September 14, and the broken lock is still having to be coped with under great hardship for me because I recently had a stroke. I even tried calling form my mobile and leaving that number as my page number hoping he would think I was a new customer and maybe call. He still has not. Now today, Saturday, I must begin the search anew, looking for a reputable locksmith to repair my mother's door. I would not recommend him to a dog.
