"Marvin was great. I have painted in the past and am a bit of a perfectionist and I must say the pros at MC Master did not disappoint. We had our entire homes interior painted and used several different colors. Marvin was very knowledgeable about the paint types we wanted to use and helped us save money by choosing the right paint for our job. He and his crew were very punctual and started early everyday and did not waste time . The project was estimated to take 3.5 days and they finished in 3 which really helped us because we could start our move in a day early. The MC Master crew was great they removed all fixtures and wall plates and taped and covered all floors, molding, appliances, cabinets and anything that they were not painting. They also cleaned up perfectly sweeping and even mopping all hard surfaces. No paint splatter anywhere and all of the transition lines where clean and sharp. I would recommend them for any painting job you may have."

Susan made great recommendation and picked out the windows, so I didn't have to do a lot of shopping around. They showed up on time and cleaned up after the work. The crew members are trust-worthy which is great for a busy professional like myself. I left the house to them in the morning and went on with my day. They locked it up at the end of the day, cleaned up construction related mess so when I got home it was as if nothing had happened, except for all the brand new windows on the wall!!! There were some minor issues with a few windows, but when I pointed them out, they fixed them right away. House repair and remodeling could be very stressful but they really made it easy, from the initial consultation to the work completion, I never have to worry about a thing, that's why I alway go with them."

We were established in 2006 through a lot of sweat, tears and 80-hour work weeks, like most small businesses. I left my cushy upper management job in corporate to take over the great business my wife had started. She had decided to make our home a happier place by learning to paint faux finishes through our home like marbled ceilings and a brick painted patio. Then the neighbors wanted them, their friends and so forth. The name "Express Yourself Paint" came from customer's expressing their unique character through faux finishes. We started out in an eight-foot utility trailer with the forty-foot ladders hanging out to infinity with red flags tied to them and a used spray gun. We looked more like the Red Neck Painters of Raleigh. Thanks to all those trusting souls who allowed us to paint for them in those early days! We came from humble beginnings, but we wanted to create a different kind of painting company. A company that is high performance, uses modern technology for communicating and scheduling making for a more satisfied customer experience while still applying paint the old fashion way...brushes, rollers and sprayers. Our desire to be different has resulted in us becoming the largest and most successful repaint company in the Triangle. "The company was easy to work with. The estimator wasn’t as knowledgeable as he could have been, but was always available for questions.. The painter was good but said he didn’t get the pictures of specific places that needed caulking as we did and therefore didn’t complete them until we pointed it out. We put nail holes above our door and on railing from Christmas decorations and thought he would have filled them in before painting but didn’t, just painted over them, the bare wooden railing wasn’t primed as we requested before painting it, I noticed that the old bare spots were showing through and questioned wether he sanded before priming and he said he did, I didn’t like it, so he reprimed the whole rail and repainted it, I still don’t know if he actually sanded first. We will see how it holds up."

When you’re considering hiring a painter, a quote should include the following items:

You may need to provide your own paint, depending on the agreement you make with the painter. Some painters prefer that you buy the paint and they supply the labor. However, some professional painters get a better price on paint and can pass that savings along to you even after accounting for labor costs.
The average cost to paint a ceiling ranges from $3 to $8.50 per square foot, which is about $1 to $2.50 more per square foot than the cost to paint the walls. Rooms with high ceilings require working from a ladder or scaffolding and often include trim or detail work, which adds to the final price.
Professional painters charge $20 to $50 per hour, on average. Hourly rate cost factors include the complexity of the paint job, the type of paint, the height of the walls and ceiling, and the type of prep and repairs needed. For example, removing wallpaper costs an additional $3 per square foot because it can be very time consuming and labor intensive. Your location will also impact the hour rate.
To estimate the cost to paint interior walls, multiply the square footage by the average price range to paint interior walls, which is $2 to $6 per square foot. For example, a 12-by-12-foot room with 8-foot tall walls is 384 square feet, meaning that the cost to paint the room will range from $768 to $2,304. Painting the ceiling and any trim will add to the overall cost, as will any repairs.
