Weatherguard replaced my roof in 2019. In the spring this year, the carpenter and painters found that I had a rotted support beam due to water. The carpenter pointed out that the roof was not right. i called the corporate office who sent 2 guys the next day. They went up the ladder and immediately patched the roof with sealant. I asked the company to help with costs of the beam since the roof caused the problem. They dodged and hid after stalling 3 months . They wont respond now. Their guarantee is useless! They claim on the contract that they will stand behind the workmanship, but they don’t. I am out $1175 to fix the beam. Do not use this company.
Description of Work: Replaced my entire roof in 2019. Roof made water seep into supporting beam. Repair to beam cost additional $1175.

Justin worked with my insurance company to get coverage for storm damage. The roofing materials were delivered on schedule, and the roofing team showed up at the day and time I was told to expect them. They managed to complete the job in one (full) day. I was really impressed with the clean-up. They had put tarps down to catch the old shingles, but even so, quite a few pieces ended up in the grass, along with some of the nails. They picked up all the pieces of old shingle, and used a large magnet to find the nails. Although I went out and looked for myself after they left, I didn't find any left behind. The one thing I will mention is the tarps that were intended to protect the gardens really weighed down the plants I had around the house and also trapped heat underneath them. Quite a few didn't survive, but hopefully some of them will come back next Spring. If I had thought about it, I would have put some stakes in the gardens to support the tarps and keep them off the plants. Overall, the roof looks great.

Initially, it went very well. Tyler came and spoke with us and gave us very detailed information. Shingles were delivered and we were promised they'd start within a few weeks which they did. Roof was done and I requested an invoice for work completed as we were told that it would be a time before inside work could be done. A few weeks went by still no invoice. My husband receives a random text from someone named Zack requesting that we sent him a check for $13,000+. This seemed a little shady to me so again I called and e-mailed the office in Charlotte and told them I'd never received an invoice and I'd like to pay what was owed and match it with the proper invoice number. I was told that they hadn't invoiced it yet. After speaking with main office in Charlotte, I mailed the requested amount for payment in full of roof. I put work performed and my address on the check since they refused to send an invoice. We made several calls in the next few months about job completion and yes, you guessed it and still no invoice. Then, my husband comes home and says he got another weird call from Weatherguard and said we'd never paid for the roof! I was livid. I came home immediately and pulled my bank records where they had cashed the check 3 months earlier but never credited out account. I spoke with home office in Charlotte again and told her the date it was cashed and the exact amount which was payment in full for the roof. At this time I explained to her what a nightmare this company had been to work with. The roof was replaced and though they left a little mess and scattered nails all over.....they did a fairly good job. However, the company as a whole, no invoicing, not crediting my account, calls not being returned......OVERALL A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. My friend was paid a referral fee for referring us. She did not have this experience. So, I was willing to give them another shot. I told the lady at the home office, if she'd have the people follow up properly and get my invoice for work completed then we'd just forget the rest of the job that they dropped the ball on. Also, my mom also needed her roof done. She assured me she'd have them follow up with me and they would not let me down. Months later still no calls but they keep sending me paperwork wanting me to sign a completion certificate for a job they never completed......still no invoice mind you but they want me to sign off. So, my job was never completed, I never received an invoice and I did NOT refer them.

Great, they were very proactive in working with our insurance company to point out storm damage and discontinued/defective shingles that were used on our original (25 year old) roof. They then replaced our very large and steep pitched roof in record time - 2 days. Cleaned up nicely and finished with a walkthrough to make sure we were happy with the job. The new roof looks great and has held up well under the spring storms so far.

Roofers have been stopping by lately. Guy stops by from this company and went up on the roof to check out damages. Comes back down to discuss things and asks me what my deductible is. I responded that I wasn’t sure, but I thought it was either $500 or $1000. He tells me we can get around the deductible. I ask how and he tells me I have copper flashing around the chimney. He continues with the idea that there is nothing wrong with the existing flashing but my insurance company will pay to have it replaced. He will pull it up but put it right back down, since there isn’t anything wrong with it. That alone will cover the deductible. Another roofer stopped by later on the same day. They asked about the deductible and I told them the same thing. I also mentioned the idea that the guy from Weatherguard had said about the copper flashing. They get up on the roof and inform me there is no copper flashing. Then an hour or so later, another guy from Weatherguard shows up and happens to have his manager with him. I told them there is no way in the world I would hire them after one of their employees just bold faced lied to me. They evidently called the first guy that came by, because he called me and left me a very belligerent voice mail that he had pictures of the copper flashing on my roof and how dare I lie about that and get him in trouble with his company. I sent him a text asking for the picture of the flashing and then I would apologize to all parties concerned. Of course I never received the picture. The insurance adjuster just came out and when I told him the story, he just shook his head. Not in disbelief that this happened, but rather in disgust that that are roofers that try and scam honest homeowners. The adjuster confirmed that there is no copper flashing I would never, ever, use this company for anything. They hire people like that, I want nothing to do with them.

Got my roof replaced as part of damage done during a storm. The team who came out to provide the estimate were professional and transparent about costs, which I really appreciated. The crew that came out to do the work were fast and they cleaned as they went. I was very impressed with the work and their professionalism. My roof is beautiful. Would recommend them to anyone who is looking to have their roof done.

I was really taken aback by the customer service and professionalism of them from the first contact. They listened to my needs and even insisted I get another estimate before choosing them. I did, and they were the best option. The process was smooth and comfortable. When the job was complete, they followed up to find out if we were satisfied and tweaked any minor issues we had.

Description of Work: i contracted Weatherguard for a full roof replacement as an insurance job for hail damage. Their knowledge of the insurance process and flexibility with payment processing was very good and much appreciated. There was an issue with a leak in the roof after the initial install which caused a water stain on the interior ceiling, but they were quick to repare the roof and work with the insurance copany to have the ceiling repaired & painted. I would actually rate the quality as an A- in fairness, but I would consider them again in the future.

When we lived in Durham, Weatherguard came through our neighborhood knocking on doors, asking if they could inspect our roofs, claiming that the entire neighborhood had experienced storm damage. We let them look at our roof, they said we had hail damage, we/they contacted the insurance company, and they replaced our roof. When we moved to Wake County, we were moving into a home that was almost 20 years old. I called several times and left messages asking them to come and look at this roof. I finally sent an e-mail, and a very nice woman called back. She said that someone would contact me shortly. They have never called back. They seem to be storm chasers. I was concerned about this roof, but, in my opinion, unless they can come in and do a sweep of an entire neighborhood, they are not interested in helping someone. I would not call them again, and I do not want them to come and look at my roof.

Response from Weatherguard Roofing & Restoration
Weatherguard Roofing respectfully disagrees with members version of the facts related to its work on her roof in November, 2012. At no time did Weatherguard receive any complaints from member regarding the work performed on the job. The entirety of her commentary relates to Weatherguards decision not to perform additional work on her new home in Durham County. As a result of difficulties in receiving payment from member, after repeated requests over three (3) plus months, Weatherguard decided that its resources were best mobilized elsewhere. Weatherguard takes pride in its work and the satisfaction of its customers.

Weatherguard contacted us due to many hail repairs needed in our area. Unlike one other company we spoke with, Weatherguard was very prompt, attentive, professional, and courteous with us in all our interactions with them, especially Carlton. Our entire roof needed replacing and they worked alongside our insurance company to make sure everything was done correctly and in agreement with our insurance. By placing their sign in our yard for the duration of the service, $500 was taken off our price to cover our deductible, so our entire roofing job, with dimensional shingles, cost us nothing. They started and completed the job in one day which was highly desirable. I only have good things to say about our interaction with Weatherguard.
Description of Work: Entire roof (shingles) replaced due to hail damage.
