Description of Work: In our experience, most architects sought to ‘steer’ us toward a stock design, which they had sold repeatedly in order to minimize effort and maximize profit. Then, they suggested the minimum number of modifications they deemed necessary in order to ‘shoehorn’ this design into their perception of our requirements. Architects we considered prior to Dave delivered inconsistent overall designs and invariably left us unsatisfied. We wanted a truly custom home, not a modified version of a builder’s subdivision model. Dave Bennett, of Triangle Residential Designs, did exactly what we were looking for: he began with a blank piece of paper and a lengthy conversation in his studio. He listened to our situation and what we believed would match our lifestyle. Then, he set his mind to creating a living space which met both our needs and desires. The result is our ‘dream-home’ and it will be the showcase of our new neighborhood. We came to Dave with a lot of ideas about what we wanted. He took a disjointed list of wishes and synthesized it into a beautiful new home. Dave did not treat us as customers or clients; he dealt with us as if we were his friends. He listened to our visions and did a fantastic job of creating what we had in our heads. The final product reflected us, our personalities, all of our requests, and Dave’s unique, architectural style. We threw a plethora of challenges at Dave along the way. He stoically accepted requests and re-works with a professional demeanor. The man is a genuine pleasure to work with and we would recommend him highly to anyone who wants a superior end product. Finally, Dave followed through in assisting us to locate quality, local builders. He drew upon a long list of professionals to help us identify the right builder for us, and our project.
