I was looking to buy a house. I saw Tom's ad for being a Real Estate agent. I told him I was a first time home buyer. From that first chat he helped and advised me through the whole process. Contacted me immediately. Extremely responsive. A few days later, came to the house to do a walk thru. A few days after that, he came back with professionally bound presentations of what the house is worth now and what it might be worth in the near future if suggested improvements are made. Included historical market highs and lows in neighborhood, how fast homes are selling etc. In addition, he provided us with another professionally bound presentation of what certain improvements will add to the cost of homes in both wake county and nationally. This is a very valuable tool and it includes everything from a new roof to medium level of kitchen or bath renovation to complete renovation of same and other projects. Very well done and thorough.. Very professional presentation. Impressed. Would highly recommend. Plus, I looked up his reviews on other websites and they were all very positive.

Tom Menges was professional, well versed in his profession and an excellent educator. He provided a two volume personalized supplement which illustrated a detailed description of our homes value in contrast with six comparisons in our local area. He also described weighting factors used to normalize his calculations and spent over an hour reviewing the documentation. After a walkthrough Tom pointed out areas in need of repair and cleansing prior to placing our home on the market. I found Mr. Menges personable and knowledgeable. Before deciding on an agent for the sale of my parents' home, I researched agents on Angie's List, Zillow, and other rating sites. Based on where my parents' home was located and available information about agents' listing experience in that area, I narrowed down the list of recommended agents to three. I interviewed all three agents and gave each agent the opportunity to examine the house and explain how he or she would market it. Of the three, Tom Menges stood out for the comprehensiveness of his marketing plan and his explanation of how to sell an older home in a pricier neighborhood. My assessment of what he brought to the table was fully borne out by his handling of the house's marketing and his dealings with potential buyers and their agents. Based on Tom's plan, we "dressed up" the house for an as-is sale, put the house on MLS on a Tuesday in early May, held an open house on the following Saturday, and had three credible offers on the table by the following Monday evening. The offer we accepted was for nearly $10,000 above our asking price; the sale closed this past Friday. While there was an element of good market timing involved, I give credit to Tom's marketing plan and the work of his full team (and there really is a team!) for getting my parents a price for their home that far exceeded what we had expected. Further, Tom was very easy to work with and very solid on staying in communication with me during the entire process. I really couldn't have asked for a better experience.
