It went very well, unit and all duct work replaced in a day and a half, as expected. Friendly professional workers, they have already returned to adjust the duct dampers to improve flow to bedrooms. Price was in line with quotes from other HVAC companies.

The technician quickly determined what the problem was, a worn out motor. (Showed me the motor and it was definitely shot) He had the unit back up and running in an hour..Awesome! It was a relief to know the unit could be repaired and not replaced. I definitely recommend Thermo Direct!

Derek came out on call at 8:30pm the same night bc it was so hot in our house (it was a 75 degree day that day). He was extremely professional, personable, friendly, and genuinely liked the work he did and enjoyed helping us. They only charged $125 for the emergency service and he had his senior tech, Tim, to come out the next day while it was daylight to thoroughly look over the entire system and test it. He quickly found I had wires touching and it caused a short and a fuse to blow. He replaced the wires at no extra charge. They send an auto text when they were on the way with a picture of the tech and a bio about them, along with a tracker to see how long It will be before they arrive. I am totally impressed with this company, Derek and Tim. Seriously genuine people and I love that I am supporting a local company here in Garner. I had a lot of issues with another AC company and this has been a continuous problem that got worse and blew the fuse so I went with Thermo Direct. I am glad I did. 1,000% recommend.

Amount: $579.26 CLAIM id: C-20180902-3085 DESCRIPTION OF DISPUTE AND STEPS TAKEN TO RESOLVE THE DISPUTE: I found Thermo Direct on Angie’s List. I scheduled an appointment to have them look at my central air unit. The appointment was scheduled for Friday August 31, 2018 between the hours of 8 am and 1 pm. Tim a technician with this company arrived as scheduled. After inspecting my system he found that it had frozen, he showed me a picture (on his cell phone) of the ice on the unit. He also told us that the capacitor was not working properly and was the cause of the problem. He told us he wouldn’t be able to do any repair work until the unit thawed out. He advised us that he or someone else from Thermo Direct would return, probably after 6pm, that day to change the capacitor. Tim returned later that same day. He spoke to us at length about taking a Club Membership with Thermo Direct. Taking the Club Membership seemed to be the most cost effective option for us, so we agreed to sign-up. Tim changed the capacitor (he didn’t offer to show or give us the defective capacitor, but we didn’t ask either) and did some other maintenance. After completing his work he turned the unit on via the Thermostat. As far as we could tell it was working, the thermostat indicators were lite. Tim left almost immediately after turning the unit on. On his way out the door, he said almost as an afterthought, that there may be a leak in the unit. This statement didn’t alarm me, because we were told the problem was the capacitor and it had been replaced. The next morning, Sat. Sept. 1st, 2018, we noticed the unit was not on. The indicator on the thermostat was set to the on position but, it was dark (not on). We turned the indicator to the off position and decided to let it sit for a while to see if it would come on later. We turned the indicator to the on position the next day, Sun. Sept. 2nd, 2018, but it didn’t respond. At this point I called Chase Visa Customer service and spoke to Harry. I explained the situation to him and asked that payment not be made to Thermo Direct. He said he would open a Dispute Claim and did so. I didn’t call Thermo Direct because I knew they would call me. On 9/4/18 I received two calls from Thermo Direct; the first call was from an employee checking to see if I was satisfied with them. I told this person everything I have outlined in this letter. This person assured me that if there was a problem, the company would correct it. I told this person I wouldn’t pay them. Later that day a Ms. Tonka Lynn, phoned, I told her the same story I told the employee. Ms. Lynn said she wanted to send a technician to look at the unit, I refused to allow this; I told her I was not comfortable letting them have access to my equipment again. I also told her that I strongly suspected that something improper had been done in order to make work and to bilk us out of money. I told Ms. Lynn that I had opened a claim with Chase Visa. Ms. Lynn ofcourse assured me that the company would not do anything dishonest. The technician was able to get to us a couples hours earlier than planned, so I thought we were off to a good start. He was very thorough, replaced 2 parts that were under warranty and the system seemed to be working fine. He thought that the thermostat may also be a problem, but was unable to confirm that...since after he replaced the contractor all seemed to be working. About 1 hr after he left, the AC stopped working again. I immediately called to let the service know And here I am 4 phone calls and 7+hours later and still no one has returned my calls. In the interim, my husband replaced the thermostat, just in case that was the issue... but still no working AC. I am very dissatisfied with the service, especially since I purchased their silver club membership. I would not recommend this company to anyone that actually needs to have their AC fixed.

Top of the line company from start to end.

Thermo Direct did an excellent job, Two very experienced men did the job, and Omar Bennett, the Home Project Manager, was there for the start and finish of the work. His help in refining the quote and checking the installation was very important in my acceptance of their quote and in achieving good results. Thermo Direct provided detailed specifications and product information for the duct material. They were on time and very professional. The installation took one day, but Omar came back in the morning of the second day to finish up some ceiling drywall patching around two registers in the Master Bath, which he did perfectly. The installing crew went far beyond minimum requirements and worked through very tight access to attach the ducts going to the Master Bath.

I called Thermo Direct and they responded immediately. The technician came on time they said he would. I got the SMS when technician started from their office and he looked at the issue, provided me the estimate and fixed the issue. It took around 3 hours and it's working fine since them. It's been a week.

Job was done within a short time frame. Jon (the technician) and his colleagues provided excellent service in every level.

On Saturday I met with the salesman who spent a good amount of time calculating the size of the system needed. On Tuesday at my request they did most of the installation. Wednesday morning they came out at 9:30 to apply finishing touches and test the lines with a vacuum pump. They fired it up around 11 a.m. and it steadily cooled and de-humidified the home, which was easily 90 degrees. By bedtime everything in the home was a very comfortable 74 degrees. This new system runs so quiet, you hardly know it's on — but it works like a charm. For not much extra money I had them replace several crushed ducts. In addition, with the new system came some new boxes, replacing the ones that had leaked. And I was delighted to discover that two registers at the far end of the house that never could get enough air pressure before now work great! I wish I had done this three years ago when we moved into the home. I actually feel like our home is now a pleasant place to be in the summer.

I bought a deal from Angie's list. There was no additional charges. They were very friendly, punctual, professional. They did a great job.

No problems to report. Found an issue with a part on the system and recommended a repair.
