Sustainable Pest Systems (SPS)

The bedbug team at SPS are very friendly and very professional. Compared to other exterminators who came to bid on our job, they were much more thorough with their initial inspection, and they shared much more information about how/where bedbugs live, different approaches to elimination, and different likelihoods of success. In the end, they did a combination of heat and chemical treatment that seems to have taken care of our problems. (I'm confident that if we have any other problems during our warranty period, the SPS guys will show up quickly to stamp out any lingering problems.) For their two visits, SPS came in clean white vans without signage or logos that would tell neighbors, "HEY, THERE ARE BEDBUGS HERE." I thought that was a nice courtesy. On both visits, they came when they said they would and got their work done quickly and neatly. Also, I want to thank John for going the extra mile and moving a couple of pieces of furniture and a few other things that I didn't realize I needed to move. I definitely endorse the team at SPS.

We bought a home that had existing termite traps with wood bait. We hired Sustainable Pest to do bi-annual checks on the traps. They started by suggesting we buy newer, fancier traps which was fine but we declined as we were ok with what we already had in place. They did the checks as requested, but we would just get a bill with no description of the service provided or findings. I had to call the office each time to ask whether they had actually found any signs of termites - which was the service I was paying for. I asked that they provide a brief status report at each visit but they never did and I had to keep calling to hassle them. They were also careless with the traps, leaving the lids off or breaking several lids. We've now moved on to someone else.

The visit went fine. He did all that needed doing and was professional and pleasant.

Only needed one treatment. Haven't seen a bug since.

I've been using them each summer for a treatment. They come out monthly. They're always very quick to respond, and they do sustainable pest treatment which I like it's eco-friendly.

The technician was prompt, professional and curious. He examined our home for signs of termites and other problematic pests. He answered all my questions in a clear manner. I would call this company for future concerns.

They were very responsive and up-front about costs. We have them on a cycle to come spray every few months. Never found any critter, but they are always willing to come re-check.

Technicians are generally knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Newer techs don't necessarily know their bugs yet, but they know the procedures and still do a good job. Biggest issue so far has been with scheduling, but even that has been minor. All in all, my impression of the maintenance service is that it's a good value from a good company.

excellent. They suggested a non lethal and much lower cost option (that they did not profit from) . A microchip enabled cat door. What a rare occurrence to find a company that looks to solve a problem even if it does not profit them directly.

I think they were very thorough. They came and then they followed up as they said they would. They were punctual. Overall, I was satisfied with the work that they did. The workers were very nice and very professional. This was the first time I've used them.

I had an estimate done just before Thanksgiving. They explained how they would do the work and gave me a range for what it would cost. The actual work was scheduled for the Monday morning after Thanksgiving. The specialist arrived exactly on time (his timeliness continued throughout the 5 days of work) and I showed him around. From outside, he quickly spotted the squirrel's entry hole (which I was never able to see ;-) The entry point was in the soffit, so there was nowhere to set a trap. He explained that he would have to block the entry and continue coming back, and re-blocking the entry, until the squirrels gave up and moved on. He estimated another 3 days. The second and third day, the squirrels chewed through the initial blocking material, and the next day pulled out the screws when he used a stronger wire mesh. The pest specialist said that at this point, it's too easy for the squirrels to eat through the plastic soffit. He asked about the attics in our townhomes. When I told him there were different interior designs, we spoke with one neighbor who had attic access near the soffit. He set traps in that neighbor's soffit area, and then in the attic of a third neighbor who has an unfinished attic. The next day, both squirrels were trapped. I haven't heard any squirrels in the weeks since. I'm very pleased with the positive results in such an out-of-the-ordinary set of circumstances. The specialist was always on time and did a great job explaining his approach and the rationale behind it. He worked with me to figure out how to get the squirrels out permanently. Even with the extra day of work, the cost was within the initial estimate.

To be honest, I did not deal with them directly. We had a little trouble regarding communication on whether the treatment is good because we sort of noticed some pests coming back. My interaction with them was good as long as we were able to reach them but I think we had trouble kind of confirming appointments and payments, things like that. They may have had the wrong email address, maybe I can't really blame them. This was a couple of months ago and it is kind of hard to remember enough to really grade them fairly. On pricing I have no basis of comparison. I don't really know yet how good the treatment is.

Everything went great. Rudy arrived on schedule and performed all required services in a very professional manner. The netting he used to cover the outside of the eves looks great and was installed very nicely. I would certainly recommend SPS and would use them again in the future.

I recently sold my house and had to evict some bats from the attic before closing. SPS responded to my request for services promptly, gave me a fair estimate, and completed the work within a week, all to meet my tight timeframe. They were very pleasant and professional to deal with - I would use them again in a minute!

Almost everyone with the company provides excellent service. We have had one technician who lacks professionalism and left a bit of a mess with the bait granules left to kill the bugs. However, this is only one technician. All others who have performed service have been amazing!

I have been using SPS for about three years now and they are great. I built a log house and the first summer noticed that I had carpenter bees feasting on my porch beams. During their initial visit they treated for bees and also placed termite monitoring stations. Now they come on a regular schedule or when I call them. The company is always prompt and professional when I need them, and I have one regular technician that I deal with. I think their prices are very reasonable for the services they provide.

I currently am using SPS as my pest control provider as of two months ago. They have been very responsive and educational regarding sustainable pest control solutions. One treatment so far and everything looks good.

SPS has been rock solid for me. They come out every month and spray and for the most part the mosquitoes are non-existent during the summer. The ant problem last year took a few treatments to get rid of in full. But they came out again and again until it was done and the ants were gone. This year the ants are here and there in small amounts and it's going to take a second treatment to destroy them. Service is generally good. Their techs are courteous, and service oriented. I would recommend them to you.

It took two trips. After the first treatment, the ants increased about ten-fold and the service provider suggested that he did not warranty the work. However he did come back the next day without charge and treated some more. It took about a week to be rid of all the ants. I thought the problem could have been solved more quickly.

The mouse problem and roaches were taken care of promptly. I was very happy with the service.

We used this company last year for a few months with excellent results--it was the first time we enjoyed our yard throughout the warm weather season! No mosquito bites and LOTS of outdoor time--we've really been working on our outdoor space and wanted to enjoy it (fire pit, patio, pond, mulch, flowers, and lots of places for mosquitos to hide!) This company is responsive to requests and scheduling concerns, uses environmentally friendly products, has the best pricing around, and, most importantly, their product works! I booked this year for April through September to cover the full season and get the best pricing--$300 for six months minus a 10% Angies' List discount. You won't find a better deal than that. Highly recommended.
