+ -1 moreStock Building Supply was contracted to provide the takeoff, labor, and materials for my new house. Their crews were very quick to fix problems along the way, but did leave nails and wood cuttings throughout the site. Their price overall was very fair, but their siding price installed was fabulous compared to other quotes I received. There were some hiccups to satisfy the inspector on fire blocking and between their internal estimates for division of labor, but they were very easy to work with overall - especially Christie Brown. Their field supervisor was great to deal with as well.
Description of Work: Material and labor for framing, boxing, siding/trim, windows, garage doors, and interior wood trim.

+ 4 moreEverything went well. I started the process early in the fall looking at different contractors,cabinets makers,granite,etc. Stock Builders made it so easy as they had everything right there. I could take sample home for the cabinets, granite and tile to check how it would look in my house with my lighting, flooring,etc. Terri was very patient with me and answered all my many questions. It took a while but I finally made decisions and we started the project on 2/5/13. My contractor was the one who recommended Stock Builders and he was right. Between my contractor,Paragon, and Stock Builders, the bathrooms are turning out great.
Description of Work: Their designer helped me pick out bathroom cabinets and granite tops for two bathrooms. She was extremely helpful in giving me ideas for tile designs also. Their installer came and installed the cabinets one day and the granite people came to template for the granite. It was installed four days later. Everything looks great!! We did a downstairs 1/2 bath with a new vanity and granite top and full hall bath with new vanity and granite top.

+ 4 moreWe hired Stock during our master bath remodel to provide the vanity cabinets and granite countertop. Very dissatisfied with the level of customer service and quality. This seemingly simple order was place on 4/30/2012 and not completed until mid 8/2012. It required having to contact them repeatedly by phone, e-mail and visits to the show room.
Description of Work: Install vanity and granite countertop for master bath remodel.

replacement windows
+ -1 moreThey did the work the end of December and were here today to do some follow-up work. It was generally good but I had to nag them a little bit on some follow-up stuff. They responded and everything was fine. It took a little bit longer to wrap up the work but everything was done satisfactorily. Their price was competitive and I shopped around. They had to redo some things while I was here. I would recommend being there when they do the work.
Description of Work: I used Stock Building Supply for windows. It was a sash replacement for a picture window and six other windows.

+ 0 moreThe hardwood flooring crew of four was very professional and paid very close attention to the hardwood installation. Very fast installation and left house very clean when finished. The vinyl flooring crew of 2 also did a fantastic job and left our house very clean. No corrections or callbacks were needed for any of the flooring work.
Description of Work: We wanted someone who could help with both hardwood and vinyl flooring installations so we chose Stock Building Supply. We got several flooring estimates from some hardwood flooring companies but were much higher than Stock's quote. Great estimate by Kathy and Robert who also gave us good suggestions to save money on the hardwood and vinyl floor installations. The cost of $8200.00 was for 1200 sq. ft. of 3/4" red oak prefinished (gun stock) flooring in 5 rooms and hallway. It was installed very professionally and done in a timely manner that met our schedule. They made 2 different trips to install the hardwood flooring to accommodate our needs to move furniture in 2 different phases. I am very particular and was very happy with the finished product. The cost of $1800 for 500 sq. ft. was for Armstrong Natural Fusion vinyl flooring expertly installed in the kitchen and two bathrooms. My wife and I removed old carpet, padding, tack strips and moved all furniture prior to installation of hardwood and vinyl. This resulted in great labor savings. We decided on Stock Building Supply because of Kathy Huckabee. She was our sales person who truly took an interest in our remodeling plans.

+ 0 moreThis was a rocky job. Diagnosing the issue was difficult (understandable because you can't see through tile!) and neither the builder nor the other company wanted to accept responsibility, and the only way to get to the bottom of it was to remove and reinstall the job. Because of the blurry line of responsibility, every step of this process was a negotiation and justification of the necessity of the work. In short, we had several problems throughout the job. Over a two week period, crews came without the necessary tools and tile and grout materials, damaged other areas of the home while moving/reinstalling appliances, damaged cabinets, came 6 hours late and rushed through the work, damaged some of their own work, left a mess outside, and borrowed and misused our own appliance. The company sent crews to fix the missteps and fix the job over the next 3 weeks. While it looks pretty good now, the process was challenging. Only saving grace is the fact that it was warranty work at no cost.
Description of Work: The work performed was warranty repairs to a tile floor to a new home within its 1 year warranty. Our tile floor in the breakfast area was showing cracking and 'outlines' or 'dents' in the floor that looked like they matched up to 4' x 8' sub flooring panels. We contacted the builder to work out diagnosis and repair. The work was originally done with another company and they also did the repair in conjunction with the builder. Some of the difficulties we faced were a result of those two companies shifting responsibility and their miscommunication. That's unfortunate, but true. Perhaps if we had been an original and paying customer, the company would have been more careful and efficient. When all was said and done, the company replaced sub floor boards and re-tiled our entire kitchen and breakfast area. The work was satisfactory. Company supervisors helped complete the work, but the subcontractor crews were difficult to communicate with.
