Stair Pros

The stairs looked good when they first put it but eight months later both landings cracked. I’m the only person living in the house and my BMI is 25. I called the owner and informed him about the cracks on both of the one piece wooden landings. He didn’t stand behind his work. His reply to me was : “ Sorry. I’m not going to replace you landing. I have tried to explain to you this is normal. That and you saying that’s the only thing is your house that’s cracked logically makes no sense. I have crown molding that’s cracked all winter and goes away when the summer kicks it. Because of the A/C. Welcome to North Carolina“ I had to hire someone else from Southern Stairs to fix his work and pay them.

Robert and his crew removed the carpet on my stairs and installed hardwoods, new banisters and new rails.

My husband & I had ripped off carpet on our stairs in hopes to stain our treads and paint risers. Pinterest can be a dangerous thing! Well we quickly realized this job was much bigger so I set out on Angie's List to find a contractor who could do what we wanted. Rob was one of the ONLY contractors who contacted me within a very short time of sending him a message. He was responsive and very helpful. We scheduled the work and I actually had to cancel our first appointment due to a work conflict. He was very understanding and rescheduled. Matt showed up right on time, was courteous and very professional. He did an excellent, excellent job. I would highly recommend using Stairpros to anyone looking for this type of work. Price was very reasonable for the quality of work done. I now have the look I envisioned!

Those three words do not share the scope of the job that Rob and his crew did for us. We had an unfinished, unorthodox two-story staircase that a couple of contractors looked at but couldn't seem to figure out and were not willing to tackle. He came in, bid the job, did it on time and on budget even when the work took longer due to the uncommon nature of the measurements and materials. He and his guys were fast, hard-working, professional, responsive, and conscientious. They took pride in their work. We have a sound, beautiful staircase and a large problem solved. In addition to the staircase, they did a few other carpentry jobs on our house and their abilities go way beyond installing railings.

Stairs Pro's service was outstanding, and I would recommend them to everyone. The results were outstanding, and the results that occur were beyond what I expected. Robert had a crew of three working on this project, and it still took them almost eight hours to replace all of my thirteen trees. They were very punctual, and made sure that everything was cleaned up before they left, as well as to insure that I was happy with the job, which I was.

We are very happy with the results! Rob showed us several styles of banister posts and properly advised us on the size and style for our foyer. The work was done in a very skilled manner, and the guys who did the installation were careful and neat in our home. We definitely recommend Stair Pros if you are looking to give your stairway an affordable update that makes a statement or if you need to match newly finished hardwood floors.

They were awesome, very professional and did an excellent job. They went above and beyond what I paid for - they also fixed a different stair post that was unstable. At the end of the job they even helped me cut a few pieces of counter tops that I needed for another project. Overall, I was very pleased with the work that they did and would hire them again for my stairway needs.

Didn't end up using them. I ran into a time crunch and money crunch because my roof needed repairs. I've called again recently several time to get a final quote. They never called back. Maybe they're not in business anymore

We called Robert at StairPros a few days before New Year's Eve and played a bit of phone tag. On New Year's Eve we finally caught each other to discuss the project and make an appointment. He asked if we would be home on New Year's Day as he would be in the area. I said we would and he said he would call right before he came in the afternoon. We never heard back from him and we didn't call again as we saw another person had posted a similar situation. Maybe he just lost the number? Regardless, we found a few other professionals who have given us estimates.

This was a great experience! He did everything so professionally and the work was fantastic.

Stair Pros did a great job! I initially contacted them about a month ago & was referred to a website to view samples of iron balusters. After disappointing experiences with two other companies who failed to follow through, I figured this would be another example of a company who for some reason did not want or need any business. Thankfully, I was wrong! Following my second telephone call asking for help, a representative made an appointment to come to my house that very day. He showed up on time, we reviewed the options & he said the balusters would be ordered immediately. This was all on a Monday & he arranged for installation on Wednesday. Wednesday morning the crew of two men arrived on time, they were very polite and professional, and they got to work. They did a wonderful job, removing the old wooden spindles & installing beautiful iron ones. They took care to contain any mess and cleaned up everything when the job was done. I couldn't be more pleased with the result - the stairway & balcony look beautiful! Kudos to Robert and his crew - Cameron & Tommy - on doing such a great job. I would like to say that It was not easy to find a company specializing in this type of stair remodel. Neither Stair Pros nor another company I contacted were listed under "stairway remodel" on Angie's List but I did find them with a google search. In the end I contacted three companies in all with varying degrees of success. One even came out to my house with samples, took the information (thankfully no deposit!) and was never heard from again, despite numerous calls and emails. Stair Pros, however, did come through & did a very professional job. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a stairway update!
