Here is a reason (actually more than 1) why we should consider buying local: Like most, I too started my DSLR journey by buying a entry-level DSLR from an online source. Within a year of using it, I realized its limitations. Went to Southeastern Camera thinking I know what I need. The folks listened to my needs, understood the limitations I reported with what I had and made some recommendations. I came back home and took a week to think through and chose my system. This was 5 years ago. Recently, I ended up trading in my old system and upgraded. This was in Mar/2015. This new one failed (one of the dials stuck) and so, when I called, Southeastern Camera offered to handle the Warranty claim for me. This alone saved me 2-3 hrs of work at a minimum. Now, they asked me if I had a spare body and I said no. They offered me their spare for me to use while mine is being repaired. The prices are comparable to the B&H, Adorama. Southeastern has a wide range for us to hold and feel. Customer service is old-fashioned and top-notch. When incidents like failure during warranty happen, having Southeastern Camera in your corner is PRICELESS.

Process was seamless as I am in their database. They suggested gear, explained how to best use it and its limitations.
