SOLUTION REMODELING & HOME IMPROVEMENTS

While Ernesto seemed like a very honest guy and the work started off well, everything soon took a complete turn for the worst. Ernesto started out by remodeling the bathrooms and closet walls, and the drywall work looked good. However, after I came back from out of town for a few days, I had quite a surprise waiting for me. Sitting next to my refrigerator was a bottle of tequila I had had in my refrigerator that had been completely drunk. I also found beer missing, as well as other beer bottles lying around the house. When I confronted Ernesto about it, he claimed his helped had drunk it all, and that he would pay for the tequila, but offered nothing else. I later found a hand-made pipe outside of my house where they had been working that smelled strongly of marijuana...In addition to stealing my liquor, the tiling job done by Ernesto and his helper was extremely poor. The contractor I hired afterward had to spent a lot of time fixing the many gross mistakes they had made, and said it looked as if they had no experience what-so-ever with tiling. I fired Ernesto about halfway throughout the job for the obvious reasons listed above, and felt that the 50% deposit I had already paid him was much more than the amount of work I received. I clearly did not have a pleasant experience with Solution Remodeling.

The project went very well, Ernesto did a great job and I'm very happy with my basement. He did exactly what he said he would do, and he did it for the exact price we had agreed on. Ernesto uses a lot of subcontractors but I didn't have a problem with them, the work seems to be high quality and I have no complaints at this point. Please keep in mind that Ernesto tends to need additional funding as the project progresses. What I mean is, I paid him half up front with half due upon completion, but the reality is that by the time the project was completed I had paid him $8000 out of $9000. This did not concern me at any point b/c when he asked for early payment it was always at a point where significant progress had been made and I felt confident that the project would be completed as we had agreed - and it was. My only point is that if you have a big project and are not comfortable paying as it progresses you should definitely specify that up front if you choose Ernesto. For me personally I didn't mind that much as long as the job got done at the final price we agreed and with high quality work.

The job went exceptionally well. Although Ernesto gave the lowest estimate, the finished work was first rate. The workers showed up each day on time and went about their work without delay. After the drywall was installed and the painting was finished, a lady came and did a thorough cleaning job. Although the job took a little longer than predicted, it was still done within a reasonable time, and it was a much better experience than I have had with previous remodeling jobs (by different companies) that took weeks longer than promised. But what really impressed me the most was that, after the job was finished and we discovered a couple of minor problems (a stair rail and a section of baseboard were not replaced), Ernesto sent someone out to fix them, even though he had already been paid and had removed all of his tools and equipment. That was a unique experience for me.

This was a wonderful experience. I contacted 5 companies for bids for my popcorn ceiling removal, 3 of which responded and gave bids. Ernesto was extremely responsive and came highly recommended from an associate. He was honest about the cost and how messy the job would be, said it would be a total of about 4 days from start to finish, and his bid came in WELL BELOW, all the other bids I received. I was a little hesitant, because I didn't want to sacrifice quality, and end up with a "smooth" ceiling that was lumpy and poorly done. However, my ceilings look AWESOME!! He finished on time, was easy to work with, had great guys working with him and they all REALLY knew what they were doing and did an awesome job. He does all kinds of drywall, sheetrock repair, renovation, remodeling and popcorn removal.
