Description of Work: Installed a duplex outlet in the on-Q box; installed the ceiling light fixture that I supplied. All went well.

Description of Work: Kitchen ceiling light was constantly burning out and no one has been able to correct this. This time the serviceman told me that the light had been installed too far up in the ceiling. I was having a problem correctly inserting the bulb so that it made good contact. He lowered the fixture so it is much easier to put in the bulb and to make sure that there is adequate contact. He also suggested using LED bulbs which are much cooler and can prevent overheating.

Description of Work: Perfect! He upgraded a code that was not required when we moved in years before but is now that we are selling the house.

Sloan impressed me from the start when they contacted me to discuss the whats and hows of my project. They steered me toward a very good solution for my flood light and I was happy with the installation. I would certainly use the provider again.

Description of Work: I HAD A FEW OUTLETS AND RECEPTICLES THAT DIDN'T SEEM TO BE WORKING,PLUS A FEW MYSTERY SWITCHES THAT DIDN'T SEEM TO CONTROL ANYTHING. SLOAN SENT A PLEASANT MAN AND HIS ASSITANT TO DO THE REPAIR. ALL THAT WENT VERY WELL. I ALSO HAPPENED TO MENTION THAT ALL THE LIGHTS IN MY HOME DIMMED ON-AND-OFF SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. THEY IMMEDIATLY WENT TO THE ELECTRICAL PANEL IN MY GARAGE AND DISCOVERED A MAJOR, DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH THE POWER COMING INTO THE HOUSE. THE PANEL BOX ITSELF REQUIRD A PARTIAL REBUILD. THAT REPAIR WAS DONE SUPERBLY. VISUALLY, ALL THE NEW WIRING WAS NEET AND SOUND. |I'M NOW A HAPPY CAMPER. I HAD ONLY ONE CONCERN: THE YOUNG MAN DOING MY REPAIR HAD NOT YET OBTAINED HIS ELECTRICAL LICENSE. HE TOLD ME HE WAS JUST ABOUT READY TO OBTAIN IT. HUMM. Description of Work: I originally had some wires checked where my lights were flickering. As it turned out I had a burnt out breaker and this electrician replaced it. I wanted to continue by having him check on my outlets and replace them with a safer outlet. Then he felt like he could do the work in one day and it was much more then one day. Then he felt like I should have my whole house rewired Idealy.So we ordered an electrical inspection from the city of Raleigh. He has never contacted me or come back to me to finish the job that we started with my interior outlets.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for 8 hours of electrical labor. They installed a bathroom fan and vented it through the attic to the outside (cutting a hole to vent it out threw the siding). They also re-vented our other bathroom side to the outside. Finally, they installed 2 ceiling fans, 3 light fixtures, and a new smoke/CO2 detector. They also had to replace various electrical boxes while doing this work. Sloan Electric does solid, quality work, and they stand behind it. I was very pleased with the job they did for us. They ran into some snags that were not their fault, for example, wrong types of electrical boxes in the ceiling. So, they did end up spending a bit more time at our house than the 8 hours, and we paid some $ beyond what the big deal cost. This was not a problem as it was necessary to finish the job right, and they were good at troubleshooting issues.

Description of Work: They ran an electric line from an outside sump pump to the house. The work was done on time, within the price quoted, and with no mess. A job well done by Matthew and team.

Description of Work: We had circuit in our bathroom that stopped working. Another electrician who had looked at it previously who was unable to fix the issue. I assumed it was a tripped GFI, but we couldn't find it anywhere. Sloan Electrical looked and found a GFI circuit hidden in the linen closet that we had not been able to find in over a year. They flipped the circuit and everything worked again. It was worth the cost just to get it working again!
