Matt drove out to my house and personally apologized and asked if he could perform the work as originally planned. A sincere apology goes along way in my book. Was pleased with his work. I'd prefer not to advertise the price I recieved for his labor thus the $0.00 but it was a hefty discount. Company needs to improve it's communications on aproximate arrivals.

The service provided sent message within 24 hours of purchase of deal and a service provider was out within 2 days of purchase. Service provider was on time, professional and provided helpful tips for future maintenance. The service provided fixed the issues I had and I have had no trouble since the service was provided.

I was extremely pleased with the service. Matt explained my options and risks (e.g., cutting through wood floor). He also wisely talked me out of using the outdoor lights I had purchased. He and his assistant went to a light store and bought more appropriate lights for the application. Everything was completed quickly and professionally. It's been 4 months and everything is working perfectly. Job well done.

We were having a problem with the lights in one room of the house not working. I used one of the diagnostic discounts to have them come out to the house and find out what the problem was. It turned out to be one of the wall plugs in a different room was bad and that broke the circuit. They then offered to fix the plug for an additional $60. I personally think that was a little expensive to change a $3 wall plug but it was agreed to and they quickly change the plug. It has been working fine ever since.

Matt did an excellent job and we were extremely satisfied with his work. Matt was very responsive and stopped by to review the project and provided a reasonable quote for the work. He had to schedule his work into a tight project plan as he had to work around other contractors and dependencies. He made every effort to adjust his schedule to make sure that our project moved forward on time. His quality of work was excellent. There were numerous occasions were he could have taken short cuts, however he was very keen on making sure that he did it the right way. Matt and Jason made a great team, they were a pleasure to work with - very professional, courteous, punctual and did an awesome job. They encountered quite a few challenging situations with a 25 year old house, but they were able to solve all of them in a code compliant and cost effective way. The electrical inspectors were very pleased with the work that they did and both the rough-in inspection and the final electrical inspections passed on first attempt. BTW - out of all the different trade inspections that we went through as part of the Cary inspections and permits, this was the only one that passed the first time without any re-work requests. Matt also fixed numerous other items that were not originally planned for the job. He is always eager to help and consistently went above and beyond. Overall, we were very pleased with the work that they did and are glad that we were able to find them through Angie's List. Thank you Matt for the great work that you and Jason did on our new 3rd floor!

One of our 12 year-old circuit breakers tripped and would not reset. We called Sloan Electric just before 5pm, and they came to the house at 9am the following day. The problem was quickly diagnosed, and a new circuit breaker installed. Very professional, knowledgeable and courteous, would recommend.

There were a number of difficulties encountered in the job due to past electric work done over a period of 50 years, and Matthew, the owner and head electrician, came up with very creative and effective solutions to them all. We also chose to move the location of the new box so that we could take down the wall it had been on. This did increase his time and the scope of the job to the higher end of his quote, but when it was done we were able to be sure that the electric service in this older home was completely safe and could handle the newer demands made on it by an upcoming kitchen renovation. And, we now have outlets with three prongs everywhere!!! Matt and his crew were extremely professional, polite, on time and dedicated to doing the job right so that our house was safe. We could always reach them if we needed to. This was not an easy job and another electrician had turned us down, so we really appreciated that Matthew was willing to take on the project. We would recommend them highly to anyone looking for a professional, intelligent and caring electrician. He approached the job with the highest level of integrity and our renovation construction firm was so impressed with him that they actually hired him to come back and do the electric work on our subsequent project.

They corrected a lighting problem we had in the garage from when the townhouse was built. They remedied the issue and put in a new receptacle, it was well taken care of. They were very proficient in getting the lighting going.

My experience with them was fine. They were efficient. They did their work quickly and were gone. Their pricing was just fine.

A house we were preparing for sale needed some electrical work, most of which was extensive exterior wiring that the previous owner had installed but was not up to code. We called Sloan Electric and the owner, Matt, came out the next day and was able to complete the work that day. In addition, we had a new dishwasher delivered late that same afternoon which needed new wiring installed. We were under a time constraint, so we called Matt and he sent someone out immediately. Job completed. Sloan Electric personnel are professional, courteous and do excellent electrical work. But most important, in my discussions with Matt he impressed me as a very ethical individual. I would recommend Sloan Electric without any reservations.

I couldn't have asked for more. I had the house pressure washed. The water got behind one of the exterior outlets and resulted in burned wires and lots of smoke after which the circuit breaker kicked off. I called Matthew around mid-day on a Friday and he returned my call almost immediately. He was at another job and promised to come over once he completed that job but asked that I check in with him around 5PM so he could provide a better update. He said he still planned on coming over. At 7:30 he called to say he was on his way. Knowing this would be a fairly time consuming fix, I told him Saturday morning would be fine. This issue also affected my hot water - so we had none. He was here bright and early Saturday morning. After thoroughly checking everything out he replaced all the exterior outlets and updated the circuit breaker. It was a good 4-5 hour job. I'm very happy and, while hoping not to have more electrical problems, I intend to call Sloan Electric for all electrical problems.

turned out the issue was in the fixture. they identified the issue quickly and were in and out having provided me with the details of the issue and recommended solutions. I was quite pleased with their professionalism.

Service man was pleasant and professional, went about his work and cleaned up when he was finished. We also talked about some future work I'm think of doing, he made some good suggestions. I would certainly use them again.

He came with an associate. They worked efficiently and professionally and as a result I have working outlets in critical areas of my living room. He solved a problem that I have had since moving into my house seven years ago.

I had issues with my ceiling fan , Mat looked at it and fixed that. Afterwards, he was kind to spare some time to give us estimate on some of the other works that I needed. Also, later, hired him on for TV mount work, it was a a good professional experience and work was done at very reasonable price.

I was referred to Sloan Electric by another Angie's list contractor who impressed me. Sloan came out and installed a new electrical cable from the circuit box to the sump pump at the opposite end of the house in order that the first contractor could install a sump pump in my crawl space. When the city of Durham electrical inspector came, he looked over the circuit breaker box and installation and said "this guy did a real good job". Then he checked the crawl space work and said "the guy knows what he is doing"! So I asked Sloan Electric to fix something that I had done which blew a circuit breaker. I tried for a week to fix it myself but couldn't. He came out and explained that 99% of houses (my house is over 30 years old) don't need a new wiring system, they just need the outlets updated to code and then the entire system is up to code and much safer. So I had him upgrade 10 electrical outlets to code and fix the circuit breaker problem. Yesterday he came out again and updated the rest of the downstairs (20) outlets. He found a couple which were in poor shape. I plan to have him do the upstairs pretty soon. The two different men who came out were friendly but professional and knew their work well. They both explained several things to me also. I was very impressed.

It went really well. Towards the end wanted them to look at the dryer plug. They were happy to help and replaced the plug which was damaged.

Terrific visit overall! We will definitely use Sloan in the future!

Scheduling was easy, and they did a great job.

When they came they had two guys. They came in and they check out what they could do. We had them install a fan and some vents. They went up in the attic and did the work. They were professional. They explained some of the work we wanted done and how long it would take. The checked out the breaker box for me too.

It went very well. I had tried several companies but Sloan had answered first and worked me into their schedule. A celing fan had fallen during a cleaning. The person that put the fan back up for me did not know how to reconnected it. Sloan electric determined why the breaker switch would not stay on and suggested a new fan for safety reasons. I went to purchase the fan while they took care of another emergency call. They returned without extra charges and replaced the fan with the new one (coming around my work schedule). They were very courteous and well within an expected price range for me. They will definitely be my first call on any electrical issues I may encounter.

They did a real good job, at an agreed upon time, and cost. They were very friendly, and cordial. I did not pay anything more than the $99 of the big deal.
