It went well. I met with them in person and they seemed the most competent of the people I talked to. I like their competence and the quick turnaround time.
Description of Work: They provided a landscape plan.

At the recommendation of an engineer, we contacted Brian to replace an exterior French drain on one side of an 18,000 SF commercial medical office building in Cary. Based on the plan drawn by the engineer, Brian estimated that the job would cost $4,000. His crews were booked two weeks out, but since we weren't facing an emergency, this wait was perfectly acceptable. We thought it portended good things that he had steady business, in fact! Upon arrival, Brian himself supervised the work and once the foundation was unearthed, Brian suggested a better solution that dealt specifically with the actual circumstances. He presented the options to us and let us make an informed decision. To his credit, the alternative was $800.00 LESS than the quote for the engineered design. We found Brian to be honest, experienced and professional. This rare combo allows us to highly recommend him with all confidence. SiteScapes' work was done exactly as specified, is guaranteed and the workers cleaned up every bit of evidence that suggested they had ever been onsite. We anticipate replacing the drain on other side of this same building sometime this year and we will absolutely hire Brian for the job.
Description of Work: Excavation of 1'W trench along foundation to remove existing, non-functioning drain field surrounding one side of 18,000 SF commercial brick building in Cary. Waterproof foundation and then install 1" clean gravel bed at bottom, lay socked 4" diameter perforated schedule 40 PVC pipe and cover with layers of clean rock and fabric filter. Add clean outs. Brian installed a flap system around the cement blocks, which prevents water intrusion more effectively than simply spraying a coating on the foundation. He completed the drain as spec'd but did save us money by using perforated corrugated pipe instead of PVC since the area is not exposed to root growth or further compaction. Price quote was very competitive.

This was my 7th project with Sitescapes. They have done a lot of drainage remediation projects for HOAs I manage. I always ensure Sitescapes is one of the bidders on any project I have to undertake because having engineers work on the problem tends to ensure the projects end better than when I hire "landscapers" who do the same thing. Drainage problems are a tricky beast and while I work with a lot of guys who promise they can permanently fix the issue, few actually come through. Brian at SiteScapes has every time. On one job, most areas were performing perfectly but one area was still filling with water. One call to Brian had him back out there and everything was good to go. The townhouse community I most recently hired SiteScapes for is in a hilly area and has a ridiculous number of retaining walls and an even larger number of poorly-draining areas left as a gift to the community by the builder who did a cut-rate job. SiteScapes fixed our immediate problems and did so correctly. Brian met with the Board and did a walkthrough to make sure he knew where all the problem areas were and then met with them after to make sure they were happy. As the property manager, that made my life easier as well.
Description of Work: They reviewed and repaired retaining walls and fixed multiple sites of improper drainage.

Our HOA board hired SiteScapes to perform drainage remediation behind two of our townhome units. Prior to hiring, the board received estimates from several companies, and decided on SiteScapes because their estimate was more detailed. SiteScapes offered a one-year warranty on the work, and no special instructions were given to keep that warranty in place. Several months later after a soaking rain we reported that the drainage system was not working. SiteScapes came out to evaluate and told our management company that the reason for failure was that the catch basin had grass clippings in it and was clogged. They did not offer to do the cleanout and refused to honor their warranty, even though no written maintenance instructions or warranty disclaimer had been given in either their estimate or final invoice. The board instructed our community manager to go back to SiteScapes to argue our case and get them to fulfill their warranty. SiteScapes still stated that it was not their problem. Our HOA is now faced with having the drainage remediation done AGAIN, at our cost, in order to resolve the problems there. Needless to say, we are disappointed with SiteScapes and would not recommend them to do work of any kind, as they apparently do not feel they need to stand by their warranty nor inform their customers what must be done to keep the warranty in place.
Description of Work: Our HOA board hired SiteScapes to perform drainage remediation behind two of our townhome units, which consisted of installing a catch basin and underground drainage to redirect stormwater runoff away from the back of the two units. Prior to hiring, the board received estimates from several companies, and decided on SiteScapes because their estimate was more detailed.

Excellent all the way around. The work would easily have been done in a week had it not fallen on a holiday weekend and the weather cooperated a bit more. The entire old retaining wall was removed in a single day(!) Brian (owner) and Steve were both very courteous--just really nice guys--and answered all questions. We realized there was a bit of a discrepancy on the property line shown on our parcel map, which meant they had to extend the retaining wall another 4-5 feet and angle it in slightly--all done, no questions asked. They also re-set the drain when it became clear that it was a bit above the low point in the grade (again, no questions asked). Their crew were friendly and did very precise work. The 50-foot long wall is straight as an arrow, and the walkways in the front of our house are perfectly level. This was a major project and a large outlay of cash for us. Being first-time homeowners (less than a year), we were apprehensive about taking it on. SiteScapes had a good rating on Angie's LIst, but they also came highly recommended on a local community forum (City-data.com), and they certainly lived up to our expectations. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Replaced old (90yrs) retaining wall (5ft high by 50 ft long), installed drain and pipe from basement door to edge of back yard; removed 3 large shrubs and extended gravel driveway in the space to allow two vehicles; removed cement walkway and re-did it with pavers; removed short retaining wall separating driveway and yard (18in by 15 ft long) and re-built with steps added; installed small landing area with pavers near spigot/hose.

They were very prompt for the estimate, but very slow to schedule the actual work. They did not confirm the day they actually came, they just showed up. The work that they did is high quality, it has solved our problem, but I think their prices are a little on the high side. They can be a little slow to return calls.
Description of Work: Installed drainage system around perimeter of the house. They also waterproofed the basement.

Brian has an intimate knowledge of his field. He understands land topology very well and incorporates that knowledge into the scope of the specific job. Brian is also extremely nice to work with and treats his customer with a great deal of respect. The 2 tiered stone wall that he designed and built around our pool is really beautiful and well choreographed. In addition, Brian handled challenges on the job site with great professionalism. A couple of pieces of stone were cracked. We didn't notice them until after those sections were up. Brian took them down and replaced them. Also, we asked that the wall be extended further down the driveway and he extended it with no problem. We would highly recommend Brian to anyone. His knowledge and professionalism are an asset to the industry.
Description of Work: Brian and his team built a stone wall from our driveway to the backyard around our pool.

We had many quotes, but SiteScapes was the only company to put in writing what they intended to accomplish with a price. They were very professional and did an excellent job. We hired them to do the patio about one month after the retaining wall was built.
Description of Work: They built a retaining wall 6 feet high and 20 yards long, as well as two 3 foot high and 9 feet long sitting walls with stairs. They also built a patio under our deck with a small sitting wall.
