Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning

I chatted with a rep online and scheduled an appointment at my convenience. On the day of the appointment, I got a call a few hours before they were to show up to tell me they were running late. They gave me a new timeframe and the service man showed up right at the end of the new timeframe. My day was flexible, so this time I was okay with it. My HVAC system had not been checked for 18 months, so the technician, Mike, did a thorough job of checking every aspect of my system. I was impressed with his diligence. He found one item almost out of spec and suggested that I get it replaced. He said it is a common failure mechanism on systems and he was surprised it has lasted the 18 years that we've had the system. I went ahead and let him replace the part. Mike was at my house for over 1.5 hours which is pretty good for a tune-up. I went ahead and signed up for the service agreement with them where they come out twice a year. I just hope they don't try to sell me something every time someone comes out.

I signed a maintenance contract with them. The maintenance for 1 year was included in the $14000 purchase price of the unit. However, the extra charge of $66 was for a filter that they needed to put. It was excellent. I had a maintenance contract previously with another company. However, these service technicians spent at least an hour and a half longer than I had ever got before. It was totally thorough.

It went real well. I signed a maintenance contract with them.

Great fast installation. Best price around. Fast service. They fixed many unexpected problems with out additional costs. Very personable & were very kind to my annoying dogs.

We have had a maintenance contract with Service Experts for over a decade. Recently the AC system was acting up a bit. It was not turning on when the thermostat sent the start command. Service Experts came out to service the unit and said there was nothing they could do. They claimed that it was Duke Progress Energy's "Power Management System" that was interfering with the unit. This seemed logical and after 20 or 30 phone conversations with the energy company I was finally able to connect with an engineer who promised to have the "Energy Saver Unit" removed from our system the next day. Alas - this did not solve the problem. The AC unit would still only run for 10 minutes and sometimes not even start at all. I eventually discovered that the main connections, terminals and wiring had a bit of minor corrosion from being out in the weather for nearly 20 years. They just needed a bit of cleaning and polishing. So, after paying Service Experts to do maintenance on or system, it turns out that I had to fix it myself anyway. A good cleaning and it works fine now! Great job guys ;^/) - that's the last time I use Service Experts!

It went very good. They are very accommodating. I've never had any trouble with them. They were very prompt.

They always call us to schedule our service and we appreciate that. They have never tried to sell us anything we didn't think was appropriate. They give good recommendations and we are very pleased with their service.

It went well. The install team was professional. It took longer than expected owing to the installer having to return to and from Raleigh (from and to Chapel Hill) to obtain supplies that hadn't been inventoried and therefore not put on the truck.. I recommended that a technician or installer look over the job after the sales agreement is signed and days before the installation in order to prepare a complete inventory thereby avoiding wasted time by the installers. This was a retrofit job and of course required supplies to account for differences in the old and new equipment.

I was very pleased with their service at that time but the last service i had, i just didn't feel that he was that thorough. I had an issue with their wiring going to the outside unit. They replaced that fine but they also lifted the air handler upstairs. They really did not give a lot of suggestions on what to do and i did not think the service was thorough and the price was average. I had signed up with them to do a check and i never scheduled it. They quality of the work that he did was okay and he replaced some fuses too.

The workers arrived on time the first day (9 am) and worked steadily until 7pm (stopping for lunch). They returned the next day for an additional 5 hours. Installation was more complicated than expected. The old equipment was a "vertical installation". The new system was too tall so had to be installed horizontally. This required ducting removal/replacement and rerouting. Problems with the previous installation were also corrected. Though the salesperson thought my current programmable thermostat would work, I was provided with a new, much updated one designed to take advantage of the new components, and offering wireless capability! I was pleased to give up my old one and have the new one. The wiring for the Duke Energy "power saver" (my term) offering was too short to connect to the unit. The lead installer contacted Duke and scheduled a "reconnect" for me. The workers did not leave the first day until the air conditioning and thermostat were working so the house could cool down. Just a few minutes after the installers left, the sales rep called to be sure I was happy with what they had done so far. "Yes", I said emphatically.. Eddie Choplin who installed the water heater seemed to be equally competent. He took the time to refresh me on how to drain the water heater and carefully corrected the note I wrote to myself about how to proceed, in addition to explaining how to restart the unit if necessary, etc. All were "tidy" workers (always a good sign). When they finished, there was no trace of anything old. It had all been removed for disposal. The lead, Richard Nelson, was an excellent communicator and answered all my questions and provided additional information of value to me. He walked me through the installation when it was complete. I am a somewhat older, single woman which is frequently a major disadvantage when dealing with craftsmen/installers. This was NOT the case with these men or the sales representative. I appreciate this very much. These items were purchased through Service Experts representative Darrell Melton who was working inside Costco. This definitely helped keep the prices down. Darrell did an excellent job of answering my questions so I could select just the right "product mix" to meet my needs. Taking advantage of the Costco Connection definitely helped me save money. It also gave me a certain level of "quality assurance" because they thought enough of the product/company to present them inside of their store.

They were very professional and provided a consistent diagnosis.

They were on time and they were knowledgeable. They did a good job.

It was always a good service. I've been happy with them that's why I kept contact with them for several years. They're very responsive, with the contract of course, they can respond very quickly if there is a problem like they have in the past when I didn't have any heat in the winter. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The gentleman was honest and informative. He took the time to explain the issues very well. I paid $2600 for the dehumidification system, $80 for a one-time checkup of our downstairs unit and a $280 advance for a year's worth checkup for two systems.

I used Service Experts almost exactly 4 years ago when the same issue happened - my heat worked fine, but my A/C was blowing hot air. The technician at the time was able to get it working again (the fan blades weren't spinning on the motor), and it only cost the diagnostic charge plus a few dollars for a materials charge. It lasted four years! So I called the call center to make an appointment and explained that my A/C was blowing hot air again. They still had me on file. I was scheduled for the same day! Mike came out and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He checked my furnace up in the attic, then went outside to the unit with the problem. (I have dual zone.) I was hoping that the motor could just be kicked into use again with minimal parts, but the motor was completely seized so it had to be replaced. The fan blades wouldn't turn at all when pushed. Mike explained to me my options cost-wise, and I opted to add the "Plus Agreement" in order to save an additional 15% on the diagnostic charge, the motor, and new fan blades. This will include 2 service calls for the unit repaired should I need additional work to it or for a maintenance check. The motor and fan blades were installed and it was explained to me about what was recommended to do (capacitor replacement, add refrigerant), but I declined those for the time being. Overall, very professional, friendly, and I was really happy with the service. On a sidenote, the only thing I would say is that I know the motor should have only cost about a third, if I had bought it myself from the internet or a store in the area that might carry it. But I wouldn't attempt to install :), so I imagine the labor is included and reflected in the final cost of the parts.

The salesman crawled under the house, taking photos of everything "wrong" with my ductwork. According to him, I should replace all my ductwork before installing the units. They are irreparable. What he didn't know was that I had a tech out the day before (same company) that didn't report ANY of the problems this salesman pointed out. He was surprised when I told him that I am financially challenged, and if my ducts were in such terrible condition, it would be a waste of money to buy the 2 units. I escorted him to the door. Bad for the company because the tech was so honest, I was close to signing a maintenance agreement AND buying two state-of-the art units (in my case, medically necessary) from them.

Great job. Did all in 2 days of driving rain, while remaining highly professional, working long hours, and overseeing modifications of metal housing of filter & pan. Terrific team. Highly recommend the technical gentlemen, who did the difficult dirty, wet, heavy and skilled work, and salesman Dave, and the in-house women who followed up later to ensure the rebate paperwork had been received & The city had signed off| approved the inspections .

Came out the same day as called. Eddie replaced old failed expansion tank very quickly. Excellent workmanship!

Met and discussed what I wanted and the price. Set up the time. Arrived on time to do the work. All necessary paperwork was left. The company called in 3 days to see if I had any problems to be addressed.

The technician did exactly what I contracted for him to do and the UV system has worked very well. He also performed the routine maintenance which included checking all of the electronics, filter, and condensation drainage system. He spent about an hour on the routine maintenance and another 90 minutes installing the UV system in the air handling chamber.

First, the salesman, Mike, did a walk-through, looked at the existing unit, the duct work, the registers, the windows, etc. and did some calculations based on the size of the house and factored in the number of windows and energy efficiency and made a recommendation. His recommendation was a little different than other quotes that I got in the sense that it was much simpler and more economical. I asked about the solar packages that are available and we ultimately went with a 4 ton gas package and 16 panel solar array (see my other review regarding the solar installation, just in case you don't want to search I gave them an A and have been very happy). The installation went according to plan; on time and on budget. The crew left the area nicer than they found it; there was no trash, screws, wood splinters, or anything left at the site. So far the house is very comfortable, the system has been working very well. I would highly recommend Service Experts.

They were committed to their window of their appt. The appointment was made online at midnight and they came at the beginning of their two hour window. It was second I had used them so I wasn't afraid that I'd be taken.

According to the technician who made the sale rebates of about $1,000.00 are available from governmental and utility service providers to help offset the considerable cost of the unit. Installer left no information on rebates. Also there is no operators manual. Over the last four weeks I have had numerous conversations with the service technician. All with great courtesy promised to resolve the matter. Problem is nothing happens. It has now been one month without the information I need for both the ovner's manual and the rebates. Today called a "service manager" David Lares at Service Experts. His research apparently total rebates of about $400. He also says he will find an owner's manual. All in all this process should not have a month of promises to get this far. Current status. David Lares working the problem. Absolutely would not use them again for this.

SE took care of everything with no problems, the new water heater is exactly what we needed and works perfectly. The relocation happened quickly, we couldn't have asked for any better. The price was less than others that gave us quotes too so it was the least expensive. The plumber was very professional, explained everything that would happen in detail, and made suggestions with regards to the new water heater and it's new location.
