+ -1 moreI called this fence company based on positive reviews on this website. I needed an estimate on a 260 linear foot wood privacy fence. They responded out to my house to take measurements as scheduled and were polite. I received a quote via email over a week later and it was over $900 higher then the average quotes from other top rated fence companies. I emailed them back explaining this and never received a response. I would not recommend a company that will not respond to inquiries and is over priced.

+ -1 moreThe experience was not too good; they really overpromised and under delivered in my opinion. The problem was in the installation because their technician had trouble with the slope of my yard. They left a two foot gap underneath a substantial area of the fence which my dog could get under and they said they could not fix it. I ended fixing myself what they said they could not fix. They had zero follow up afterwards. Another issue was that they hit an irrigation head in my yard which I had pointed out to them, but they said they had a disclaimer which said they were not responsible for irrigation head damage -- even when I earlier pointed it out to them. This happed in two different places. Another instance revolved around every time they dug a post hole they just left a mound of dirt at each post. I had 50 posts dug so that was a lot of dirt that I had to wheelbarrow out of my yard. They were very responsive in following up on their quote and working to meet my schedule in order to get the sale but immediately following the installation I tried to get hold of them and it seems they lost my phone number and would not answer my emails. They fell off the face of the earth so that I could not communicate with them following the installation. I will not use them again in the future.

Description of Work: I needed a large wooden french door type gate repaired. I called Seegars. First they take your information and try to fit you in for an estimate; then you get a written copy, then you call back and try to schedule the wotk. THey don't do repaikrs. They fit you in between installations - and make no promises on how long that takes. The lady on the phone had a personality like a fish. They did come to the house in September and take a look. I got the written estimate 10-12. It was for $522.00. In the mean time, a person from Capitial Fence showed up on 09/30 fixed the gate for $115.00. Segars does good work but the prices they charge are insanely stupid. Aatually, they hope you - the customer is stupid. Consider: it's just wooden gate and it ws fixed for $115.00 vs $522. and Segars was not going to replace the gate with a new one - just fix the gate. Can not honestly recommend them due to their high price.

+ -1 moreThey've had bad reviews on Angie's List and so far I've had nothing but good experiences with them. They've been very prompt to give me quotes, the salesman has come out to measure twice, he answers phone calls and he left comprehensive information about the product. He's been very responsive. They make everything very clear and send you a sheet with everything that you as the property owner need to do before the fence is installed. They let you know what you're responsibilities are in terms of having your property surveyed and they educate you with the information you need to know. All the payment terms are right there in their offer and it's very clear, there is nothing hidden or extra charges. They are upfront and tell you how it is.

+ -1 moreProject FINALLY completed over two and a half months after initial contact. Wrong measurements taken X 3. Main gate support posts installed incorrectly and had to be removed and replaced X 2. Main gates wrong coating. Company hung main gates without consent. Texture of main gates doesn't match the rest of the fencing. DO NOT CONTRACT WITH SEEGAR'S FENCE COMPANY! Ball caps on fence posts not cemented on or permanently fixed. Able to simply lift off ball caps. Some areas of the fence are still adjustable (cement founations not set). Chips / scratches in aluminum in several places. Copious notes / pictures taken of every telephone call, every communication with anyone from this company to substantiate our situation as consumers and Seegar's disregard for this project. Preparing for more arguments / litigation about final invoice and balance due. What should have been a great project, turned into a total nightmare! 05JAN13 Repair work on the driveway gates completed by Dickerson Fence Co. last month. Main posts, hinges, supports, etc, installed by Seegars insufficient to support gates and another $1.500.00 spent to have the project repaird. Seegars knowingly lies, misrepresents and defends their substandard job and has never done the right thing to correct our issues. Rather, the edify themselves by professing to be right, when in actuality, they're crap. DON'T HIRE THESE SCHMUCKS FOR ANYTHING! THEY OVERTYLY LIE and treat situations THEY created with careless abandonment! You should be "blown away" by my comments! They're real, truthful and very descript! DONE.
Description of Work: Contracted with Durham office. Completely unprofessional -- especially Tony Smith, estimator. Work finally finished after a two month delay with wrongly finished main gates (company managers asked if we would like a new "textured finish" which we declined, but installed anyway -- WITHOUT CONSENT!). This company is absolutely THE WORST COMPANY in the triangle area! They're undependable, irresponsible and expensive and do exactly what they want, WHEN they want, IF they want! No matter what the rebuttal from the company is to this post, it will be untrue, and of course, not their fault. It is our intent to tell everyone we know whenever possible about our heinous experience with Seegar's Fence Company -- especially, the estimator, Tony Smith (condesending, rude, lies, tries to manipulate using a raised voice) and manager's Jason Daniels and Jason Chamberlin, both of whom could have cared less and didn't give us the product we purchased. This company treated us like second class citizens. 3-1-12 update: WOW! Quick response, huh? Two years later? Well out of warrenty or not, the gate WAS NOT installed properly. The main gate is STILL crooked and one side continues to be lower than the other. We've decided to seek the help of another fencing company to fix the situation once and for all. I would have expected some rediculous, untrue retort from Seegar's in regard to this situation, so it's true to form and like everything else -- punctual! -- or not! They've come out three or four times, MANUALLY LIFTING the sagging portion of the main gate and said, "That's what you need to do from time to time." Forget you, Seegar's. What about the customer coming first? You KNOW how you treated us and this situation, but moreover, WE KNOW what our experience IS with your company. Perhaps Seven On Your Side needs to investigate? Shame on you.

+ -1 moreOverall we were completely unhappy with our experience with Seegar's Fence company. Seegar's has very poor communications for one. They tell you they will call and they don't, they tell you they will come out, and they don't, and when they do finally show up they're late. We scheduled our installation based on one price and when the job was finished it was another. In addition, we were scheduled for our fence to be installed and they kept rescheduling us to fit their schedule versus ours. They never stuck to their word. We have since had problems with the fencing coming apart where it was not put up correctly and our dog can get out under some parts of the fence that are too high off the ground. I highly recommend you seek the services of another company if you want to come out of the process with your time, money, sanity, property, and fencing intact!

+ -1 moreI contacted someone in the neighborhood who had a fence installed by this company. They refereed me to a representative of Seegars. They did return my phone call and were prompt about coming out to measure for a quote. The Representative NEVER called back or emailed the quote. I tried reaching them a couple of times, leaving voice mail messages. They NEVER called me back, so I quite trying. We are going with another fence company in Wake Forest. He has ALWAYS returned phone calls and email in a prompt manner. He has sent detailed quotes within a day or two of the request and measuring. He is very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Will let you know how things turn out once it is installed later this summer!

+ -1 moreHowever, they never replied, or contacted us with a quote. We ended up using a guy from Greensboro - did a fabulous job, and we highly recommend him. (Our fence was built last November - so Seegars has had plenty of time to reply).
