+ -1 moreTook it to be worked on and it turns out they ship it to a lab in Ohio. They quoted $2,300 for the work and said the read write heads needed to be replaced. Couldn't afford that so sent it to$300 data recovery in California and it turns out a software failure was the problem. Read write heads in unit transferred data flawlessly at less than 1/4 the price.

Description of Work: The Raleigh address is only a drop site. To save expenses, they use offices throughout the country that act as store fronts for multiple other companies. They send the work to one of their two "clean labs" in the U.S. I was disappointed that the work was not done locally but understand given the nature of the work. |The work was timely and the agent kept in close contact by email and phone. The price was what they estimated, but my only issue was that it was very expensive for the data recovery. They listened to but denied requests to defray costs by not needing emergency services and willingness to wait or put the project on the "back burner" and there was no Angie's List discount that I could see. |I would use these services again if I had to but the lesson is to backup and backup and make copies of the backup.
