+ 0 moreAnother great project delivered by Ross Tait! I've worked with Ross over several years for both interior and exterior jobs, but this is the most extensive project that I have had him engaged with. Ross was very responsive and worked with me to suggest paint types leading up to the job. This is the first time this house has had an exterior paint coat since construction. I was not in a hurry and Ross ended up doing the job with just himself and one helper. Total job time was about 3 weeks but that also included 3 - 4 days dealing with rain delays. Ross kept me up to date on his plans as to whether he would be on site during times of uncooperative weather. During the job, the work site was kept tidy at the end of each day, and final cleanup was as expected. The final result looks great. I would not hesitate to hire Ross for another job of this magnitude.
Description of Work: Exterior paint of home including 1 outbuilding. Home is approx 3800 sq ft, outbuilding is approx 250 sq ft. Price included 1 coat of Sherwin Williams Duration exterior paint, hand brushed onto fiber-cement siding. Trim was coated with two coats of paint (hand brushed). Also included repainting shutters for 11 windows (including shutter hardware). Also applied Spar Urethane to two exterior doors and wood ceilings for screened porch area and front porch area. Lastly, applied stain to approx 600 sq ft of decking.

+ -1 moreThis is my third time hiring Ross for painting work. That probably tells you all you need to know, but I will elaborate anyway! Ross has done both interior and exterior work for me. I had multiple areas where the paint was beginning to flake or wear off trim. The house is coming due for a full paint job, but I wanted Ross to touch things up at least for this year to make it look better. For this job, he showed up when promised, worked diligently along with an assistant, did a quality job, and cleaned up after himself as expected (including protecting shrubs, decking, etc). Ross is a nice guy to deal with. Very personable and easy to talk to. I appreciate a craftsman who does a good job at a reasonable price. I usually feel like I got more than I paid for when Ross is done, and that is a great feeling! I will certainly consider Ross for more work in the future.
Description of Work: Touch up painting for multiple exterior window sills (first and second floor), garage door trim, handrails, screen porch trim, and other areas. Also applied polyurethane to two exterior doors.

The only reason for a "B" on Quality is because there was some paint spatter from the roller on the stair handrail where it had not been protected.

I brought a new home and needed two bedrooms and a bathroom painted we agreed on a date and time and he was there with no problem. He originally told me it would take him a couple of days to paint but the day of the painting he showed up with helpers and was done within a couple of hours!!! Ross will be my go to guy if I ever need painting done in the future !! AWESOME !

We were in a hurry to get our job completed and Ross was able to accommodate us. + -1 moreRoss arrived and looked at the work that needed to be done and gave us estimates on both repainting with popcorn or removal, feathering in and repaint without popcorn. We chose the last option and are completely delighted with the work performed. This was a difficult chore as there was an area that had previously been repaired and it required numerous visits from Ross to complete the feathering in process. Ross even came back a last time and looked it over and was not happy with a few areas and on his own at no additional cost smoothed in the areas he asw and repainted the entire ceiling. He went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations and we are already thinking of the next painting job that we can call upon his services once again. Ross is a true professional who will not disappoint.

+ -1 moreRoss was promt and professional ! I started a painting project in my bathroom which I thought I had under control until I decided to paint my popcorn ceiling. Needless to say the popcorn started to peel and I ended up partially removing the popcorn. Once I realized this project was bigger than my expertise I called Ross and he came over and gave me an excellent quote ! He removed the remainder of the popcorn skimmed the drywall and painted my ceiling perfectly! He did such a wonderful job I am having him come back to paint my living room and kitchen ! I was extemely pleased !

+ -1 moreRoss was quick to respond to our initial inquiry. He stopped by for a quick look and sent us a quote in a reasonable amount of time. Once the details and dates were worked out, he showed up on time if not a few minutes early and worked steadily. The project took two days. The first day consisted mainly of prep work and repairs. He returned the next day to complete painting the rooms with two coats. I was very satisfied with the quality of the work and his set-up and clean-up.
Description of Work: Interior painting of the walls and trim of a bedroom and the walls, trim, wainscoting, and ceiling of the dining room. The bedroom had a large settling crack extending from the doorway which was repaired and the dining room had several small cracks in the walls and ceiling which were also patched. His price included him supplying the paint from the colors we selected.

+ -1 moreThe job went very well and Ross and his two (2) assistants were punctual and on time each day that the work was performed. Fortunately, the weather behaved for this exterior painting. They were very professional, neat and did a very nice job. I'd use them again in a heartbeat without hesitation.
Description of Work: 1. Ross provided a bid to paint all of our exterior window sills and windows for twenty-eight (28) windows total on our two story home. In addition, he agreed to repaint the wrought iron railing on our front porch. 2. Ross utilized the requested semi-gloss paint (Glidden Professional) which matched the exterior paint that was in good condition. 3. Ross and his two (2) assistants started the work that spanned two (2) days which include two coats of paint and finished on time and at the price estimated. 4. Ross repaired some rotten cedar siding (3 pieces) by using some spare pieces of cedar siding from a previous repair job that I had in my garage. In addition, he painted the cedar with a primer coat prior to applying the finishing coat of paint. 5. Wrought Iron porch railing was primed and repainted with black rustoleum paint. 6. Also, at my additional request, Ross painted the mailbox post down by the street with the same exterior semi-gloss paint used on the windows which matched the previous color of the mailbox post. It looks very good.

+ 0 moreI thought it went very well. Ross and his painting crew were on time and very punctual on each of the three (3) consecutive days.They were neat and tidy the whole time. Any minor requests, within reason, were gratiously accepted. If Ross could not be available as planned (running errands along the way), he called to let us know. I don't think I could ask for or expect more from Ross and his assistants. I liked their work so much, we asked for a bid for some exterior touch-up of our window sills on the two story house. Subsequently, we engaged him again to perform the work in May 2012. This will be covered in a review about this work.
Description of Work: 1. Ross Tait and his two (2) assistants spent three (3) days painting the interior of our entrance way / foyer, staircase, upstairs hallway, two (2) bedrooms and one passage way to the bonus room. 2. Ross Tait agreed to use our suggested interior paint and matched it very closely to the original color of the paint used by the previous owner. He made some minor repairs to the ceiling in three (3) rooms and touched up paint in our kitchen.

Description of Work: We needed some general touch-up painting done in our home that we are renting while we move over seas. Many other companies gave us very large estimates and tried to push us into painting the entire house. Ross was great! He was honest, punctual, professional, and did great work. He filled holes and prep work in all the rooms, finished and painted the baseboards on the entire first floor, replaced a damaged baseboard upstars, color matched and repainted the kitchen, and then touch-up painted the entire house. His quote was very reasonable and he finished the job on time. He left our home clean and tidy. If we were staying in the area, Ross would be the painter we would call for all of our jobs.
