Over the last several months I had communicated with Ronnie, through text and phone regarding the project. It was not until about four or five months had passed before I realized I was never going to have the modified gazebo I was looking forward to, nor was I going to see my money, or Ronnie, ever again!!! Our last phone conversation on May 15, 2014, Ronnie agreed that he needed to return the money, and I agreed to installments of $500 each, until all of the money was returned. It has been two months since that conversation, and I haven't heard or seen anything. I do not believe I will ever see any of this money. It's a terrible lesson to learn and an expensive lesson. I had no idea Ronnie was not a trustworthy person!!! He had already done business and personal projects, and had a pretty good income from the money he was paid. There was never a hint!!! I wish I had seen the review posted here on Angie's List, I may not be out my hard earned $2000.00. My husband and I want to pursue Small Claims Court, but after reading the other review of a customer that did sue him, now they are out more money for the Complaint filing fee, the Sheriff's fee and Small Claims Court costs. Ronnie's a real good talker. Don't be taken in by his gift of gab!!! I hope that one day Ronnie will realize what he has done and will not be able to live with the fact that he stole other people?s money. That makes him someone he doesn't admire. The irony!!!
Description of Work: On December 6, 2013, Ronnie took money, a check for $2000.00, to purchase materials for an outdoor building project.

Over the next 8 months, he was nearly impossible to communicate with. He refused our many calls and emails. He eventually replied to one email saying that "cell phone reception was bad in his building." Another email stated that all our emails to him went into his "Junk" folder, and he had not seen them. On 10/14/11, by email he "promised" to get the vinyl and have it installed NLT 11/05/12. He did not do so, nor would he return our calls. On March 2012, we took him to Small Claims Court in Raleigh. The court found against him and ordered him to pay us $703 including court costs. He has not paid anything, some 6 months later. In summary, he took our money, but did not do the work, some 12 months after he cashed our check. We would warn everyone to avoid using him for furniture repair or flooring. We are continuing with civil legal action to try to get our money back from him. In short, he cannot be trusted to complete a job.
Description of Work: One year ago on August 1, 2011, my wife and I contracted with Ronnie Rogers 1033 Forest Glen Drive, Raleigh, to repair a buffet and to install a certain brand of vinyl in our foyer. We agreed to a start date and a price of $525, paid to him in advance at his request. He later reported that the vinyl's wholesale price to him was above his estimate and that he would have to "wait for a cheaper supply to become available." Since the foyer had been stripped of carpet awaiting the vinyl, we told him that we wanted the job completed immediately. Then he said that our foyer had been wet recently, and therefore, the vinyl could not be glued down successfully. (There has never been ANY moisture in the foyer.) He said we should agree to install cheaper carpet again in the foyer and not the vinyl. We disagreed, not wanting carpet in an entry foyer again.
