"Thank you so much! Your unerring cheerful disposition made every day pleasant and contributed to the calm, stress free working environment."
George's presentation gave us a great lesson about the James Hardie ColorPlus product and process and gave us the knowledge to evaluate the other contractors more thoroughly. We selected RenovateRepair because their proposal was the most detailed, their bid came in approximately 20% less than the next closest competitor and their payment schedule was much more favorable.
They were able to start a couple of weeks after we signed the contract. During the project, as promised, George stopped by each day for a considerable amount of time to be sure that the work was on track and to address any concerns. As a Project Manager, I admired how they were able to rearrange tasks to keep the work moving even on rainy days. We are delighted with the results and are definitely looking forward to the "no maintenance" part. There was some snag work to be done at the end, but that had more to do with some requested ancillary painting than the re-siding itself. George happily fulfilled our requests, even when I asked for the shade of black to be changed on our front door.
We would definitely recommend RenovateRepair without reservation.
"It made our hearts soar to read this. Thank you so much!"
"Thank you [Member name removed], we also enjoyed working with you immensely."
"I thought I might also add that when I contacted you asking for color information on your front entry door because another client was desperate to have it, you called me back while you were on vacation, then emailed the information when you got back home. I'd say we're incredibly fortunate to have you for a client. Thank you so much for this wonderful review, [Member Name Removed]."
"Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We love working with you!"
We selected George and Susan's company to quote our project because of their excellent rating on Angie's list. And they deserve every accolade they have earned. My family is new to the area and finding quality contractors has been a challenge. This was a $25K job, one time only, and we were concerned . You use electricians, plumbers, etc. over and over and if one doesn't work out you simply select another company. But roofing and siding are one time, huge investments and the contractor knows he may not see you again.
The house needed all siding replaced and we obtained 5 bids. Renovate/Repair's was not the cheapest but we chose them because of George's professional presentation of the HardiBoard product. He brought samples of the board, of the trim that would be used, of the underfilm material, everything needed to understand the job. He went over the process from beginning to end to ensure we knew what we were buying. He explained why each material was being used and it's purpose. The step by step was excellent as we could plan our activities easily, knowing what was coming next.
George provided several tips we wouldn't have thought of, such as removing art from the walls, even items attached to the garage walls, to prevent damage to our possessions. I especially appreciated this thoughtfulness as in our move several paintings had been damaged and I wasn't willing to lose any more.
Susan was very easy to stay in contact with, both by email and phone. She responded quickly, with full information, every time there was a question. She was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about our job.
The crew were the nicest, most polite workman I have ever met. They treated our home with respect, cleaning up fully at the end of each day, asking questions if they had a concern. No profanity, cigarette butts, no loud radio, they worked efficiently, with complete mastery of their tools. It was actually awesome to watch them. They have clearly worked together as a crew for a long time and there was no wasted effort or goofing off. Our new neighbor said he had never seen such a thorough, well done job. There was almost zero wasted material from improper cuts or measuring.
They painted all the trim, replaced the existing gutters without a hitch. The house looks stunning and it is clear George, Susan and their crew take great pride in their work and the satisfaction of their customers. We will be recommending them to all we know for a superlative job.
"Thank you so much, [removed member's name]. We're truly humbled by your comments. It was an absolute pleasure from beginning to end. Susan"
"As a female business owner in a male dominated industry, I am very sensitive to discrimination of any kind. Ms. [Member Name Removed] claim of racism is serious, however it has no basis in fact. Her opinion appears to stem from a lack of understanding of our estimating process. This process is explained to every potential client and this information was shared with Ms. [Member Name Removed] as well. When a request for an estimate is made, a sales representative is scheduled to meet with the homeowner, examine the house first hand and take photos of all relevant features. Following the appointment, the sales representative meets with the project manager to review the specifics of the project and determine if we will submit a bid. If we decide to pursue the project, an estimate is created, and is delivered via email, along with several pages of references. There are a number of reasons we may decline to bid on a project, none of which involve race, nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation. Perhaps the project requires a skill set we don’t specialize in, like roofing; perhaps the client has a deadline which we are unable to accommodate with respect to our other projects; perhaps the client just needs a handyman, rather than our highly skilled siding teams; or perhaps the personalities or expectations are just not compatible. We wish Ms. [Member Name Removed] every success in finding the perfect company to assist her with completing this project exactly as she hoped it would be. Susan Prenatt Owner"
"From time to time, we determine that it is in the best interest of both parties if we decline to take on a project. We had an unfortunate lapse in communication, and we recognize that you were inconvenienced by our delay in declining to take your project. As far as the perceived lack of professionalism when you called our office, our phones are equipped with caller ID, and it was unnecessary to ask who you were. We have replaced the team that relocated to Pinehurst, and are once again moving forward with reside projects, and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
George and Susan were a delight to work with. They exceeded all of my expectations. I got estimates from several companies. Renovate Repairs' estimate was the most detailed of all the companies. The were the most professional in their presentation and explanation of the work that was needed. The cost was very competitive. Some other companies don't really want to deal with the Hardie color integrated product because they aren't used to working with it and the special handling involved or because they have a paint crew that they need to keep busy. George does mostly color integrated siding, so his crew is efficient at working with it. They didn't price the job up for the extra handling, as most of his competitors appeared to do.
The job came in as priced. There were a few extra repairs that were needed (things you couldn't see until the job started-- we expected some of those). The change orders were reasonably priced and the work was well done.
The crew is very skilled, not just at siding replacement, but at carpentry work on the trim repairs. They paid attention to details. They asked questions to make sure things were done the way I wanted them done. They kept the job site clean at the end of each work day. They showed up as scheduled and finished the job in a timely manner.
I had a short punch list at the end of the job (much shorter than I expected). George and his crew already had most of my items on their list and took care of them before they packed up.
I'm in the insurance business, so I see a lot of repair work done on my customers' homes. In my experience, it's not typical that someone can say the kind of things about their contractor that I'm able to say about Renovate Repair. I had high expectations, but George and Susan exceeded my expectations. It was a pleasure to do business with them. I'd definitely hire them again.
My neighbor, who is retired from the construction trades and is very particular about how things are done on his home, watched them do the job on my house. He was impressed with the work on my home, so he talked to George about doing work on his home too.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts, [member name removed] It was much appreciated."
George and his team resided our house with Hardie ColorPlus siding. They did a wonderful job. Their price was very competitive out of 5 bids we received. George took the time to answer all our questions, both before, during and after the process. Importantly, they were very fair when it came to pricing on additional repairs and changes to the original work order, and even corrected an error that we did not notice that reduced our price. George will give you his honest opinion, even if it means less money that you are spending.
The workmanship is top notch. The team took their time and we definitely got the impression that they cared about their work, and it showed. They are very responsive to even the slightest item. Due to timing, we knew that our siding job was subject to be rushed, as they had a full schedule of projects lined up after ours. Regardless, they took the time required to complete the job, and did not rush through or cut any corners.
I think that a telling example of their commitment is their response to a minor spot we noticed a few weeks after the job was complete. There was one spot where a small trim piece was missing. It was a minor point that all of us missed during the walk-arounds. I sent George and Susan a note along with a picture to show them where it was, and it was addressed right away. Many providers might ignore you after a job is done, or try to convince you that it is OK - but they dealt with it right away.
George, Susan and their team are highly recommended!
I chose this company because of their reviews on Angie's List and due to the honesty of the owners and their professional demeanor.
They (exceeded) my (Expectations) from day one and did all they could to assist me and answer any questions I may have had.during the process of getting the Hardie Plank siding put on my house. They went Above & Beyond with the work entailed and I am very pleased with the (Overall) outcome of their work. I would "Highly" (Recommend) this company to anyone needing this type of work. My Thanks & "Kudos" to (Susan) & (George) for a job (Well Done)!
Sincerely,
G. F. Lewis

All aspects of the project went very well. From the initial visit for the estimate and scope of the work; for example, the initial visit was on a Friday and the expected completion for the estimate was the middle of the following week, however, I received the complete estimate midday on Monday. Once the work began, everything went exactly as expected; the technicians who did the work were very professional and the quality of their work was outstanding. Everything was completed within the agreed timeline, in fact it was fully complete one day early.
The house looks amazing and the quality of their work will pay great dividends for years to come!
We were very happy with the job and would recommend Renovaterepair.com without hesitation.
Project 1: Susan came out to the house to discuss a change in color for our living room. Previous home owners had chosen dark brown with a deep red accent wall, resulting in a dark room. I didn't know much more than I wanted to brighten the room using a light blue color, and Susan was able to help me figure out what would look best in the room taking in account how much light was coming in as well as what would match the flow of the house. The accent wall (with fireplace) now has two blue tones separated by a chair rail and the other three walls have two shades of tan/cream.
Project 2: We discovered swelling around nail holes in the masonite siding of our house. George and his crew explained the extent of the damage, and we decided to completely replace the siding with hardiplank. During this project, structural damage was found to our chimney under the old siding. Instead of simply covering up the found issues with new siding, the crew gave us options on possible solutions to what was found. After the siding was complete, we had an unexpected delay with HOA processes needed to approve our new paint color, so Renovate Repair worked with our unpredictable schedule. Once we had the green light from the HOA, Renovate Repair came back out to complete the exterior painting, including siding and trim.
Project 3: My husband and I did not have a ladder remotely tall enough to paint the foyer of our house, which has walls that connect to the staircase and wrap to the upstairs hallway. We decided to hire Renovate Repair for this painting project instead of tackling it ourselves and we are very glad we did! They were able to complete the project in one day and paid close attention to detail.
Project 4: Our most personal project to date was creating our daughter's nursery. I had found several features that I wanted in the room through online searching. I provided Renovate Repair with various pictures (a dining room, a bedroom, etc) and asked them if they could combine my favorite elements into one room. George and Susan both came out to make sure their plans and measurements were precise and exactly what I was wanting. The crew was able to add a beautiful chair rail with shadow boxes underneath. They also repaired dry-wall issues in the room before painting the walls, ceiling, doors, trim, etc. The attention to detail on this project went above and beyond what we had hoped for!
