Kevin Rabon showed up on time, was knowledgeable, hardworking, efficient and pleasant. He took the time to make sure we understood how to maintain the system and how to use it properly. I was really impressed with his professionalism and work ethic and willingness to do a good job. He should be commended for his efforts and Raleigh heating & Air showed good judgement in hiring him.

I just purchased a townhouse in North Raleigh, and during the inspection, learned that I would need a new HVAC. The old furnace was rusted out, the drainage lines were clogged, and the outside AC unit was on its last leg. I went to Angie?s list to see who had the best reviews, and there was the company that had been servicing my prior home for over fourteen years. I got quotes from a couple different companies though, and RH&A came back and pointed to their 10 year parts AND labor guarantee. With that sort of warranty, great service, and a very competitive price, I opted to go with them. Johnny Smith was my rep, and he has been so wonderful to work with. He?s educated me on the options, been there to address concerns, called back to check on everything, and even came back to adjust the flow from the vents so that it was better balanced. This last part was not something they caused, or were paid for, so it was very kind of him to do so. There are a great number of people in this business, and I?m sure Raleigh Heating and Air is not the only good one out there, but they?ve been amazing for me these past 15 years, and certainly on my recent purchase. I have three heating zones in my home. After the power outage, one of the systems would not turn on. I decided to purchase the service plan for my three systems to get the benefit of the lower rates it offered. Because I purchased the plan he also inspected and cleaned the other two systems. While he was doing that, he found one system had a leaking capacitor and suggested it be replaced as it would likely go bad anytime. Kaleb was excellent. He knows his job thoroughly, and is very professional. Kaleb explained everything he was doing and why. I have used Raleigh Heating and Air for several years, and the technicians always convey integrity.

The crew arrived promptly. We spoke about the scope of work. They work all day minus a lunch break. They were friendly as I checked in a few times throughout the day. The job apparently was more challenging than expected (likely due to the tight space). The crew could have cleaned up better and should have balanced all the dampers afterwards (had to have another crew return another day). Overall, very happy with the outcome. Will have them do some seasonal servicing this year (to test out a new company).

I purchased my first home knowing that a new HVAC would be required. After hours of research I decided that the old Apollos unit wasn't worth trying to fix and I would be better off w/ a proper HVAC. I spent hours reading up about the technology, manufacturers, and local companies. I came to realize that any modern HVAC manufacturer (heat pumps and air handlers) will perform relatively similar if sized correctly AND installed correctly. I received quotes from three companies. Raleigh Heating & Air seemed to be right in the middle. The first company priced me at $4,000 w/out ever seeing my property (bizarre). Raleigh Heating & Air came in around $5 - $6,000 AFTER showing up (on-time) and explain my options with a load calc. The third company quoted me $18,000 (I don't think they wanted the job). Once the decision was made the install date was set relatively quickly. The techs were extremely professional and conscientious of my property. They cleaned up well and I could tell they took pride in their work. The follow up from the office was fantastic, too. Well the appreciation keeps going... They have an absolutely killer warranty on equipment AND labor. It easily exceeded what other companies would offer. Additionally, they have a great maintenance package where they inspect the equipment twice a year. As such, I have a lot of confidence in the tech's attention to detail in the install. Raleigh Heating & Air clearly stands behind the work they do. Highly highly recommended!

Great, We have been using raleigh heating and air for about 10 yrs. Torrie is the only technician we use! I am sure they are all good however, Torrie is who we started with and we fell in love with Torrie. He is very personable, professional,and, does a very good job. We would recommend raleigh heating and air to anyone and would tell them to request Torrie. We think it says a lot about the company having an employee that has been with them for 10 yrs. plus We look forward to having our hvav serviced twice a yr b/c we are so fond of Torrie. We are on a contract with Raleigh heating and air for bi-annual service and have always been pleased. Karen and John Pearson.

Went well. System operates well

They provided outstanding customer service and have gone out of their way to keep us as customers. So much so that we continue to use them for servicing. We also have a second HVAC unit we plan to have them replace as well. We highly recommend them to others.

They were awesome. They do the service twice a year. They are very honest and very straightforward. I don't feel like they are trying to upsell me. They are not shady and they don't nickel and dime me. If there is something wrong, they try to fix it. I will absolutely continue to use them.

Very detailed analysis of the system

It was great, they were right on the money, they told me exactly what they're gonna do, they have a good price for the annual contract, the annual inspection, they were just real good to deal with, I had a little confusion with the sales guy and he corrected it immediately.

Technician was great. Freon much too expensive.

The technician arrived on time, and inspected several aspects of my two HVAC system prior to putting them under contract. He made some changes and several suggestions to enhance the usefulness and to lower the overall operating costs of the AC units... He was very professional and obviously knew what he was talking about... Several people recommended them to me as well as Angies list, and I would recommend them to anyone... FYI, the approx cost of service is a yearly cost, all the things the tech did were a no cost item, that was included in their agreement... That was a great perk.

They were fantastic. They came out, cleaned and fixed everything. They were super nice and they told me about what the best route to take and how the oil works. The guy end up cancelling an extra diagnosis that he has previously done so it would be within my budget. They got the part ordered quickly....it was good times.

Our heat stopped working during one of our cold spells. My regular heating & air guy was unavailable so I checked Angie's List for an alternative. This company was fantastic! Communication was great and they got someone out the next day. Based on warnings I've read in other reviews and online I was concerned they would try to tell use we needed a new system. The service tech was professional and honest and explained the problem in detail. He gave us a ballpark estimate on the part and labor which was reasonable and actually came in a bit less. They were out to install the part the next day. Follow up was great...they are very customer focused. I will definitely use them again.

We have had a really bad experience with them. We had a service agreement with them for our AC and the heating and their company had called to say that they were going to come out and just do an upkeep. We had no problems whatsoever and a young guy came in and his behavior was kind of abrupt. He said that your heater is going down and we're going to have to replace the whole thing and it was just a shock to us. So I had the guy come back out and speak with her husband, but the owner ended up coming out. He was very rude and my husband ended up shutting the door on him. It was a very bad experience, so we left them.

My home was very dry in this cold weather with the area of the bedrooms a good 5 to 10 degrees colder than the rest of the house. The hall with access to the attic was especially cold. I called the company and someone came out to perform an estimate almost immediately, arriving on time. He examined the house and explained what needed to be done for the instillation of the humidifier and to improve the other problems. An appointment was made for the end of the week for 8am. When no one appeared by 8:30am I called and found there had been a mistake. The office apologized and pulled two men off a job they had already started; they were at my house by 9:15. Jason and Mitchell got to work immediately, were polite, kept their work area in the house clean. They finished as had originally estimated and I continued my day as planned. The house is noticeably warmer. I can't really tell re the humidity.

We received several estimates for replacing our 30 year old gas furnaces and air conditioning units. It came down to two different companies and it seemed that the Trane system was a higher grade system than the Lennox system the other company was quoting. There was a lot of information on the internet that was pro/con different manufacturers. What we did see was a few sites stating that the most important thing to look for is someone who would do the installation right. We checked Angie's list and this company had very good reviews. One key differentiator was that they offered two years labor warranty whereas most offer only one year. I had several calls and email exchanges with RH&A to ask questions and get more information. They were always prompt in responding and answering all of my questions and concerns. One concern I had was that some of the companies that came in indicated that another hole would need to be put in the roof because the vent would come out the front of the new system and they would not be able to route the new piping to the existing vent. The RH&A installers said this would not be a problem and they did manage to get the new piping to exhaust out of the existing roof vent though it did take some engineering to make it work. They scheduled two groups of workers so that the upstairs and downstairs systems could be installed in one day. Everyone arrived on time and the work was all completed in one day. Also I was provided with all of the documentation needed to get the appropriate rebates and tax credits that I had been told about prior to purchasing their systems. I checked online and verified that all of the information they provided was exactly right. They cleaned up and left everything as it had been before except for the new systems. The systems have been installed for several weeks now, the heating has recently started to kick in with the cold weather and everything is functioning great. We would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Service was excellent as always with these guys... Thorough job and report with no "hard" upselling... Well worth using them for repairs and for their annual maintenance contract. We've had nothing but positive experiences with both.

Our upstairs heat pump air-handler iced over. I knew the cause of the problem was no freon in the system as this had happened before. While Raleigh Heating and Air had service technicians available for the next day, which was a Saturday (other area companies could only schedule for us 1 or 2 days later), they charged a premium for the diagnosis (of which I didn't need), service, and refrigerant. The service was done as needed and the tech was friendly, at the premium rate. Unfortunately, the check was lost. The company willingly paid for the stop check, but with no other compensation. In this circumstance I feel they should have offered to absorb the premium rate I paid when I re-issued the check. I now live with the fact that a potential criminal might stumble across my check that has my name, address, and bank acct. #. I'm sure the tech they sent out wasn't seeing the premium I had to pay simply bc it was Saturday. Accidents happen, I get it, but please make appropriate compensations.

My husband and I were fixing up a house to sell. The previous owner had removed all the ducting. I compared rates from several companies and Raleigh Heating and Air matched the lowest price and gave another $100. The team arrived Friday morning and got to work. They were completed with the job by Friday afternoon. Everyone was courteous and friendly. The work was amazing and they took care of a few out of place things in the crawl space while they were working. The follow up for the inspection from the county went smoothly as well.

Inspection of present heating and air system was more thorough than the other competitor and the printed out offer was excellent. Also I visited their office and was impressed by the cleanliness and orderly conduct of the staff.

Raleigh Heating & Air provided an excellent and entirely satisfactory service experience. From the initial quote to the end of the job, everyone we dealt with was courteous, professional, and competent. We received multiple quotes, and Raleigh Heating & Air's was very competitive. Some other contractors attempted to pressure us into replacing the furnace as well as the A/C, although the furnace does not need replacement. Raleigh Heating & Air provided us a quote for both, but didn't pressure us at all or try to sell us a system we didn't need. We also felt like the quote from Raleigh Heating & Air was more thorough in providing an estimate, and spent more time examining the crawlspace than other contractors. The actual work took about a day and a half, and included a few challenges particular to the construction of our home. The crew was respectful of our home, responsive to questions, and willing to answer all of our questions. All of our old ductwork was removed, and they disposed of everything. They took time to show us how to use our new thermostat, and made it very easy to schedule the subsequent inspection. We have been completely satisfied with our new system, and the new ductwork has made our system much more efficient. We plan to use Raleigh Heating & Air as our HVAC contractor of choice going forward, and I absolutely recommend them.
