Tommy was right on time. He went straight to work, diagnosed the problem, had the parts to fix it, and was on his way. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again.

If punctuality means being on time, Tommy get an F for being an hour early, arriving before we were ready for him (and acting like our schedule didn't seem to matter to him). He seemed rushed and rude, and then charged more than the guaranteed price the fireplace store had quoted, claiming the original gas line installation (which passed inspection during construction of our addition) was not done properly. Maybe he was having an off day, but I definitely do not recommend Polaris Services and would not use this company again.

Tommy was very professional. He had everything situated to avoid making a mess on the carpet or elsewhere while working on the fireplace. He also gave us useful tips on fuel efficiency and safety.

It was a pleasure to deal with Polaris Services, Inc. It was easy to set up the appointment via phone with Tommy Sherbert. There was a six-week wait, but that is to be expected in the late fall timeframe. Tommy arrived on time and very efficiently removed the old gas log set. He used the connector parts from the old set and installed the new log set within a half hour, including a thorough clean-up job. There is a remote control and Tommy patiently explained how to change the batteries and provided operation information. We know he had a very busy schedule, but at no time did we feel that he was rushing thru the installation. The log set came with a 90-day guarantee and free follow up visits if there was a problem and Tommy told us to call us directly if we had any problems or questions. The logs are operating beautifully and we are very pleased with the excellent service provided by Polaris Services.

Very prompt (even early). Tommy was professional, efficient and willing to explain why and what he was doing in each step of the installation and testing. He obviously knew his trade and was careful in placing not only the logs, but the sand, embers, etc. that provide the and quot;look and feeland quot; to produce an authentic looking fire.

Tommy was great! He was responsive to initial request for estimate and offered suggestions on how to accomplish what I wanted. He gave me advise on related items and suggestions on how to improve my landscape project with very little effort or expense. These items didn't benefit him in any way, but made my overall project better. Tommy was also the only plumber willing to come out in stages to complete the project. The other plumbers were not interested in running the gas line to the grill and coming back to finish the firepit and kitchen hookups.

The instructions from the manufacturer was confusing and obtuse, but Tommy from Polaris showed us step by step how to turn on the gas, fire up the pilot, and shut everything down. He also cleaned the fireplace immaculately.

Great service and price.

From the beginning of the service, Tommy explained what needed to be done in order to provide a complete service job i.e., removal of the logs, replacing the embers, complete clean out of log area and why all that should be done. He very quickly determined that dead batteries inside the log assembly were preventing the system from igniting. The remote control battery was still good, and that will be easy for us to replace when needed. He's my kind of repair person -- come in, assess the problem, repair it all neatly then leave a very satisfied customer behind!

Turns out there is a valve that was not tight that prevented it. A twist of the wrist and it was fixed. I should have known to check, but embarrassingly enough, I didn't. But while he was there Tommy fixed another problem so all was not lost. Very professional guy. I'd certainly call him again.

Tommy Sherbert of Polaris was recommended to us as one of only two installers of gas logs that the company who sold the logs would allow us to use without voiding the warranty. Over a period of time, he came to the house and measured for glass doors, and logs, very accurately as the fireplace is a little unusual, and gave the dimensions to the company that ordered the set of logs and the fireplace screen. After all the parts were in, he drilled through the fireplace and installed a line to the outside; this was not an easy proposition as he did it in a way that minimized the amount of piping needed outside the house and through a stucco finish; the resulting connection to the outside was very neat and praised by the propane company as excellent work. He then installed the logs and the screen, the latter of which fit perfectly. He had a carbon monoxide detector on his truck that he sold to us; this is critical if you have this kind of fuel in your home and we may have forgotten that. He was very personable and helpful in explaining what we needed to do to maintain the logs. We were very happy with his work. In addition to the categories of work he does listed above, he does gas piping, backflow prevention and testing, softeners and filters.
