Nicholas and his team are friend and professional! The expanded patio is beautiful and exactly what we wanted. The job was completed quickly and efficiently. All grounds were put back as they were or better than before. This is the second job we have had Nicholas perform. I would recommend Nicholas to anyone that is look for real expertise. Nicholas is also caring and communicative above and beyond just getting the job done.

Nicolas and his team were great. From the first interaction with Nicolas to the very end, it was always professional and insightful. Since the installation was completed, it has not rained, so we have not been able to put it to the test, but I have all the faith it's going to work. Definite hire. One bit of feedback is Nicolas does not have a standard landscaping contract. If you want a contract you will need to do it yourself, but make sure you talk to him about it from the very beginning. This was a bit weird for me since I won't have this level of work done without a contract, but once we talked about it, he had no issues signing something. He stands by his work, offers a warranty and can issue a certificate of insurance. Communication was never an issue. He was sure to update you on all the necessary steps and keep you in the loop on exactly what work was being done and awaited approval. Once the work was underway, his guys were professional and efficient. What I liked most about Nicolas was his personal interaction with me. Yes, he is running a business and like all of us, out to make a living, but Nicolas was sure to build a rapport with me, so our conversations weren't always about work. I learned a lot about him in a short time and there is a reason he has been successful. If you're hesitating before moving forward, just talk to him. You'll see he is the right man for the job.

Nicolas & his colleague, Abel, were both super responsive and helpful. My job was much smaller than most of the work they take on but they gave me the same help and attention as if it were a huge, expansive project. I am thrilled with the quality, speed and price of their work and appreciate that they were able to help me out! I also appreciate that both Abel and Nicolas were friendly, professional and on-time! Nicolas Drainage and Hardscapes helped my neighbors and me with two drainage projects at Marley Way in Fuquay. They were the third company to try to help. The other landscape contractors would talk a good game, but they rushed through the project, with no apparent supervision and did not help much with my problem, one charged $2,800 and the other $12,000, probably at least half of that was wasted. Then I tried Nicolas Drainage and Hardscapes. Nicolas is hands on, he got out there, often using surveying type tools to get the proper elevations, as he meticulously graded the drainage channels with equipment small enough go over plywood so not to damage other parts of the yard, while his crew used mostly used hand-held tools like shovels and wheel barrels. One project I split with a neighbor for $4,000 (my part was $2,000) and the other I split the cost of $3,000 with two neighbors (my part was $1,000). Nicolas makes a point to stay in touch, and has fine-tuned the project over a year later for no extra charge, while the failed contractors have not reached out, even though I have tried to be nice to them.

After the bank/slope behind our house washed out I contacted Nicolas because I wanted someone skilled in drainage and erosion control. Nicolas and his team went above and beyond all of our expectations for the major work they did in October 2020. Nicolas fully and quickly accessed the problems while clearly explaining them to us. He gave us a fair and reasonable estimate and completed the work early. He followed up with us several times after the work to make sure everything was draining properly. In June 2021 we needed additional service from Nicolas and just as before he was punctual and responsive to our situation. He again did 5 star quality work in all areas. Should we need his services again in the future, we would not hesitate to call him. Actually, we would not even consider calling anyone else! Nothing says satisfied customer like repeat business!

Outstanding once again! Nicolas always comes through with exceptional work and great customer service. Back in 2014, I had Nicolas install a paver patio with a retaining wall. Now, in 2021, I’ve decided that it was time to add onto the patio along the side of my house. Nicolas and crew did a fantastic job as usual! The side of the house now looks great, has really opened up and now drains the way it should. Nicolas is my go to person for these projects, give him a call!

We contacted Nicolas in May 2020 to install a patio, natural gas firepit and seating walls with lights. We waited for him until February 2021 to get the work done and he did not disappoint. Amazing! Nicolas and his team did an incredible job on our house. They are so professional and the porch, wall, staircase and walkway they built look amazing! They are extremely professional and really showcase the best of your property!

The job went great! They took out an old multi-tiered wooden deck, reshaped the whole area, and put in an amazing stone patio with wall benches and lighting. Our backyard was a disaster from where we'd had a large tree taken out recently that dominated the entire space, but they graded everything beautifully, laid down sod, and the yard now looks amazing. Completely transformed our entire backyard, better than we could have imagined. Nicolas and team were great to work with, very responsive to any questions, helped us choose all of the materials we wanted, and turned our loose vision into reality. Would definitely use again in the future.

I could not recommend Nicolas and his crew more highly for hardscape and drainage solutions. Nicolas was highly responsive, asked lots of questions, and was intent on getting our job exactly to our specifications. When our pre-designed patio plan (created by a friend of mine who is a landscape designer) did not actually fit well in the space, Nicolas helped us redesign the patio on the fly and gave us a beautiful solution. He worked hard to find brick pavers that would match our existing patio space. He thoughtfully salvaged a mature hydrangea plant that had to come up for the new patio and moved it to a great new spot without even being asked. The crew was incredibly punctual, professional, and unbelievably efficient--despite being rained out on a few days, they completed all the demo of our old space, the grading, the new brick patio, and the dry creek bed in just a few days. Nicolas, Andrew, Simon, and Manuel were so friendly, respectful of our space, and nice to my kids, and they cleaned up all of their work completely, leaving behind nothing but a beautiful new side yard for us to enjoy for many years to come. Nicolas also had other great suggestions for next steps for our space. I just can't say enough good things about this company.

I was massively impressed by Nicolas and his team. We had a small 10'x12' patio that we wanted to install in our backyard. After being strung along by a few other landscaping companies and then either bailed on or told the work couldn't be done for 4-6 months, I found Nicolas Hardscape and Design through Angie's List. Within 2 hours of my project post, Nicolas had texted me. We had a brief call, during which I was convinced when demonstrated his knowledge of the required materials and process, and 2 hours later, I had a quote and assurance that, while the job would be a "fill in" on the schedule, he would be able to get it done within the next month. 8 days later, the job was completed. Nicolas had the materials dropped off the day before the work, and his team started promptly at 6:45am on the work day. They worked efficiently, and by 12:30pm I was handing over a check (for the agreed upon amount--no surprises) and completely satisfied with the job. All in all, this was one of the smoothest contractor transactions I've ever had: well ahead of schedule, no surprise costs, no unforeseen work slowdowns, and great communication the whole way through. I would be happy to recommend Nicolas and his team to anyone looking to install a paver patio.

Nicolas and his team did many times more than we expected. We needed French drains all around the house - metal roof, no gutters - plus hardscaping entryway beds and grading and drainage in a sloped gravel driveway that needs repair about every four years. In two days Nicolas completed everything. He regraded and sloped the driveway, installing two French drains we hadn't even talked about to redirect the water. This is the second project we've gotten him to do for us. The good news: you'll get great work if you hire him. The bad news: he is so good you'll have to wait. The word is out - he's booked months ahead. If you have a project you want done right and you can wait a bit, call Nicolas.

In 2013, Nicolas and his amazing team created the most beautiful paver patio (with gas and wood fire pits) for us, along with building a retaining wall and grading/landscaping our property. He returned this Spring to help re-sod our back yard (we wanted to change from fescue to Bermuda grass) and he sealed the patio. I cannot praise Nicholas enough - he is a grading master and a patio artist! Our patio is 8 years old and looks brand new. His team was so professional and Nicolas was involved with the project every step of the way. I give Nicolas’ Hardscapes and Drainage my highest recommendation!

The patio install is fabulous. I asked about a patio install quote on Wednesday and it was installed on Saturday in only 7 hours. Nicolas was easy to get in touch with, had excellent communication, understood our needs, and most of all did top notch work and installed a beautiful patio!
