Nicolas' Hardscapes & Drainage LLC

Nicolas' Hardscapes put in a retaining wall in the deep grade behind my house that basically looked and felt like a jungle. He placed 2 dry beds on either side of my house and placed a wall that has not moved a tiny millimeter. We also put grass in to replace the yuck that was there. It has been a year since this work was done (yes, I take forever to leave reviews) and the work is still just as perfect as the day it was complete. I cannot even begin to describe how pleased I was with the end result, and almost as important, the process itself. Nicolas and his workers were always there at the crack of dawn ready to go and worked their collective tails off all day. They were all polite and friendly and I never felt uncomfortable in their presence not one little bit. Besides the work being impeccable, they also went above and beyond for me several times. They looked at an HVAC unit I was having issues with and gave a referral for that service, as well as setting up a better drainage that took care of a the rotting wood that was caused by the prior setup. I had to put in a couple of new sprinkler heads and lines for the back yard that was revised and, when given a $10k estimate by my usual guys, Nicolas set me up with another company that did it for 20% of that and that job was perfect as well. Once the job was complete, there was still a bit of drainage issues at the back of my house, and I let him know. He was back out there and remedied it quickly at no extra cost to me. Also, in the going above and beyond, I had a broken safety glass door by my back door that I told them to ignore, that I would clean up later. I threw a tarp over it for them to walk on and that evening I came back to a clean floor. It was seemingly a small thing, but to a single mother working 70 hours a week, it was gold. Also, on the last day when he came to pick up a check, I asked him to help me move a 100lb safe upstairs and he carried it up himself! Wonderful man! Financially speaking, Nicolas gave me a price that was beyond well under half of what others larger companies quoted me, and most important to me, he LISTENED when I told him what I was looking for. All the other men that came out, TOLD ME what I wanted. He paid much more attention to the issues in the yard and to what I said than any other company that came out. He noticed and pointed out many more things that other companies did not. I will NEVER use anyone else for this type of service ever again. I am a customer for life. And I'm in need of a couple of changes to the front and I will be calling him this week to get that set up! Don't pass Nicolas by!

We spent quality time with Nicolas before the patio was put in. He had time and suggestions to make this a positive experience. His workers were excellent too… well done overall. They even did extra helpful things in our yard to make the whole patio even look better. We would highly recommend them as they were A+!!!

I highly recommend Nicolas Hardscape & Drainage. They responded right away, listened to what I had in mind and made recommendations. They created a patio, pathway, two sets of stairs, extended an existing retaining wall, and installed lighting. His team is very skilled and easy to work with. Communication is excellent. Nicolas just completed my small my sidewalk project today. The result is amazing and I couldn’t be happier with the whole process. What I really like is everyone showed up at work is Nicolas himself and his family. So it’s not like you talk to some front man then end up with random unskilled workers to do the actual job. Nicolas’s team really take pride in their work. That’s what makes me think I can trust him. His price is on the mid to high range but for the peace of mind I think its well worth it. I’m already thinking hiring him to fix the poor job done by my previous contractor. Initial estimation & communication: More than a month ago I reached out to 20+ contractors but only 4 contractors showed up. Only 2 of them gave me estimates. When I decided to go with one of them the contractor just never responded to me. Then suddenly someone in my neighborhood is recommending Nicolas for a recent work he completed, so I decided to give it a shot. Nicolas responded immediately to my text and showed up to estimate on the July 4th weekend. We told him we would like it done sooner than later and he just scheduled us for the following week. The night before scheduled day it stormed and he quickly communicated with me to postpone it for better result. During day of work: Nicolas arrived at 6:45am as he promised. Coincidentally we had 3 other contractors (none scheduled by us) all showed up at the same time. Nicolas’s team had to work with a contractor who is trying to replace half of my concrete driveway, coordinate with the contractor who is trying to pour water in the gutter he is modifying, even helped me fixing some edging stone being messed up by the cable contractor. They are well equipped with professional machines to do hardscaping work which is miles more efficient than the previous company we hired. Quality of work: Nicolas’ team really stand behind their work unlike most contractors just want to be done with the job quickly. The job took 2 days instead of estimated 1 day because Nicolas’s team found very tiny cracks on some of the pavers, which I wouldn’t notice myself. So they decided to wait another day to get more good quality material to finish the job. The end result is flawless. The design Nicolas recommanded (although not the easiest for him) looks wonderful. They even carefully preserved part of my old turf to lay on the bare spots so I don’t have to get new sod. There is no mess left behind. They were very careful about not damaging my lawn. They put down wood boards when driving on grass or cutting stone. Unlike the previous contractor we hired who left many burn spots on my grass.

Excellent communication, real artisans. I am thrilled with my project, they really delivered and they aren't happy till you are! I will call them again in the future.

Nicolas Hardscapes did an excellent job of repairing and improving the pavers in our backyard patio & pool area. Nicolas is professional and conscientious of providing high quality work with great communication and customer service. He went above and beyond to ensure the work was done properly to our satisfaction. His crew did excellent work and were very courteous, caring and precise about their work performed as if it were there own. They always arrived early as scheduled and worked the whole day. It went excellent. It's a two day process. On Monday, he put the sand down in between the joints and on Tuesday, he applied the sealer on top of the pavers. He is very detail-oriented, meticulous and professional.

This is exactly the quality of small business you would want for your project. Nicolas was first referred to me by another contractor. We hired Nicolas to remove an existing patio and replace it with a much larger hardscaped patio, complete with pavers, fire pit, wall, and outdoor kitchen. Nicolas provided great design advice initially, but then went above and beyond throughout the project to help me see other possibilities and explore things I have never thought of. None of this increased the cost of the project. After his team had installed wall caps, he noticed that they had a defective stain. This was unacceptable to Nicolas, even though I probably would have lived with it. He had his crew remove them, returned them, and ordered in something even better – again at no cost to me. Nicolas communicates well and often. Each day he checked in to make sure we were happy with the progress. He also took care of drainage issues beyond my expectations. Great contractor!

Great job redoing paver sidewalk & lighting after front yard plumbing line project left it a mess. They regraded to ensure water flowed away from house while working on project. It’s been over a year since project was done. Even in heaviest downpours & sustained, soaking rain events the work has functioned as intended. No more puddles or water getting into basement. The sidewalk & enlarged circle by front steps make a beautiful & smooth sitting area & walking surface. The lighting is lovely. Great family business, good communication about timing of project. Bonus- moved original pavers to backyard for me & stacked them for future projects. Re-Seeded lawn where it had been torn up. Great work by great team!

Nicolas provides exceptional work at reasonable cost. He and his crew work efficiently to get the job completed. Expert in drainage and paver Hardscspe work. We’ve used his services for both. For our patio they provided a 3D rendering of our initial plan, which was helpful in making us rethink our plan. Changed the patio location and it worked out fantastic. Highly recommend!!

Nicolas and his team were AWESOME! My wife and I are super, super impressed with what they were able to do. They started with a really poorly graded, clay-filled yard and transformed it into a beautiful hardscape. The level of detail and attention to care they put into the project was the best part - nice, trustworthy guys who CLEARLY know what they are doing. 10/10 would recommend, and I'll be used them again in the future myself!

I'd actually give Nicolas a 5+ rating. Outstanding quality of workmanship that matches his outstanding customer service. He has checked in on us several times to make sure we were satisfied customers. We had 3 other companies come out and estimate but then never heard back from them. Nicolas followed through on everything he said he would do and more. They installed a hardscape patio and walkway. Also on site were Simon', Eduardo, and Andy. All four gentlemen were polite, respectful of us and our property, and hard working. In addition to the hardscape they replanted the plants that needed to be moved. They pulled out two tree stumps and took them off site. They installed a pop up drain to connect to a downspout. They even seeded the lawn. We highly recommend Nicolas' Hardscape and Drainage. We could not be happier and will call them again for our future projects.

Nicolas’ Hardscape and Drainage came out to build us a flagstone path and edge two garden beds with stacked stone. They end result is more beautiful than I imagined. We can't speak highly enough of Nicholas and his team! Nicholas installed beautiful backdoor steps and a patio and also fixed our drainage issues. He truly went above and beyond in every day. Nicolas has done lots of stonework for us, including retainer walls, walkways, a beautiful stone patio with a gas fire pit and landscape lighting along the walls and seating area. He and his crew always arrived on the job early and ready to work. Nicolas was always here to work along with his crew and to oversee the job. He is a man of his word and makes sure that you are happy with the work. We recently had a bad storm to knock out several of our landscape lights, so I reached out to Nicolas and he made time to come out and check things out. After a few weeks, he came and replaced the bulbs that were damaged. We always know that he is just a text or phone call away and doesn’t hesitate to continue providing his best service to us.

Nicolas and his crew did an amazing job on our backyard. We had grading and drainage issues that caused the dirt to erode and sink our backyard slab. Nicolas gave us many options and designs to fix our water problems. We had spoken to 3 other companies but they didn't give us all the ideas that were provided by Nicolas and he also gave us a very good price. We decided to have a contention wall with a French drain built and pavers installed to create our dream yard. They removed 2 very large trees from our backyard and 6 other smaller trees. I was impressed to see how they took the time to remove all the large roots and big rocks. Our old slabs were also removed from the property, other companies didn't want to do that, but they made it look easy. They were very careful not to damage the property or surrounding areas. They were extremely efficient, punctual, knowledgeable, and friendly. The crew arrived early every morning and worked very hard. We are very satisfied with the outcome of the project. Our yard is now leveled / graded properly, no more water issues, and it's and Oasis that my family and I are enjoying very much. Once they were ready to finish, mulch was also put in the needed areas, sod was installed to replace the grass, and they cleaned the property. Nicolas communicated with us daily and updated us on the days progress. Once the project was completed, he took his time showing us with great detail all the work that was done. I highly recommend Nicolas hardscape to everyone! I'm attaching pictures for you to see how nice our yard looks now.
