Services we offer
We provide a free energy analysis; and Solar PV (photovoltaic), Hot Water, and Pool Heating installations. In addition to solar solutions, our company also offers low cost energy efficiency solutions such as Thermal Shield and Solar Attic Fans.
We interviewed 5 companies and chose NC Solar Now! They did not try to oversell the size of the system or make us get more than we needed. Their customer service has blown us away. They were efficient with installation and have kept us in the loop throughout the process. We also got a Tesla Powerwall, and are very glad we did! It allows us to use more solar energy overall and has already come in handy during a power outage. Plus the whole system is helping our kids be more energy conscious, which we love! Thank you, NC Solar Now! We are very satisfied customers!

NC Solar Now did a beautiful job doing a solar panel installation (33 panels) on our garage roof. The process went extremely smoothly. All their personnel and crew were professional. They kept the schedule they gave to me and stayed in regular touch throughout the process. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

The Representative that came to our house was very honest with us. He checked out our needs and informed us that we would have to do other stuff to the house to save. He also told us that our payment would be about $20.00 more than we would save. Very honest man. Thank you for the honesty.

Went well overall. They were a bit behind schedule and the price is high, but solar is just not that competitive price wise at this point in time. The job was first rate and the people were professional, friendly and just great.

good response from supervisors, one panel mounted to close to valley on roof forcing panel into shingles ; team returned to relocate panels to avoid roofing and panel overheating problem. workers in and out of bathroom in morning - must have each had a pot of coffee before leaving home. we were not happy with location of electric cable across attic access door, again management responded and secured cable out of way. Overall were pleased with company. We a little disappointed that power generation not as much as sold by initial salesman, should break even over 20 years which was stated as life of panels. Like the idea that we are using green energy, but will not see a substancial saving in energy cost.

We did not use what they were offering. We felt we could not afford to install solar at the point but we need to have a heating system so we chose the conventional system in the end. We looked at that but we would probably be selling the house in a couple of years so thought we would not go in for it since we would not get much from it ourselves. They were going to do possibly 2 things and one of it was electrical solar panels generating electricity and the other was one for heating hot water which would also be mounded on the roof. We looked at 8 different people and I thought that they did well in terms of quality that they offered and the estimate that they were offering but it was just that it did not fit with our budget at that time. I think that it was something around $12000 and that would be on top of what we would be paying for the HVAC. We have the whole heating and cooling system but it is about 20 years old and we would have to replace that and we could not put this on top.
Description of Work: We spoke to NC Solar Now and they gave us an estimate to install insulation in the roof space.

I would not do business with them under any circumstance. Outside of having the worst quote I've ever seen for that kind of money, I can't say much about their finished product. I have no reason to.
Description of Work: No services were performed. I had them come out and do a quote. Actual quoted figures were much higher than what I was told over the phone. They were hastily written on a notepad under a high pressure in-home sales. ( if you are buying tens of thousands of dollars worth of product and labor, you deserve a parts list and a plan - these are not reflected on a hastily written carbon copied "contract" that they very much want you to sign ) No planning or measurements were taken for the quote, the initial quote was at least 20% over market average ( if not higher, call around to verify... I called two other places, and have another certified shop quote 20% less than NC solar Now.) The quote itself did not actually specify the products to be installed, was comprised of a couple line items that were vague at best. The quote itself has the BBB logo on it, but they are not accredited as near as I can tell. ( check the BBB website to verify ) Their website specifies that they have 17 years of experience, but their company doesn't seem to have been around that long ( check the NC Secretary of State website ) I suppose this could be true of their cumulative experience, but I think its a bit misleading. The final nail in the coffin was the salesman implied they had a special relationship with progress energy. I actually took the time to email progress energy to inquire about this. No such special status exists. So in summary. 1. Fast and loose with the numbers. 2. Inflated prices. 3. Very little in terms of surveying the site. 4. High pressure sales. 5. Quoted a non existent product. 6. Implied business relations that do not exist. ( progress energy ) 7. What appears to be a misleading use of the BBB logo on the quote/contract. - Do you need more reasons not to do business with this company?

Their installer Reggie showed up on time as scheduled a couple days later. He did an awesome job, great attention to detail, very professional install. The owner Steve Nicolas personally came out twice during the install, and suggested the solar fan be installed as the attic fan for max benefit and determined with a remote bracket solar was possible on the rear roof top side of our home, which made a lot of sense. I feel the owner and people really care about the green aspect of their products, and say welcome to the Family, which is very nice. They seem really interested in their customers saving energy and long term relationship, not just a quick sale. It took a total of 3.5 days, as they did very high quality work as well as quality of the solar fan (lifetime warranty), thermoshield appears to be of excellent quality as well in my opinion. Everyone was pleasant to work with. Thanks again.
Description of Work: Chris Robinson came over from NC Solar Now and gave us a recommendation on thermoshield in our attic over garage, furnace and water heater room, crawl space along sides of house, and solar fan. Calculated square footage and cost of solar fan. They honored the discount as advertised from the Home Show. So we contracted to have 1244sq ft of thermoshield ,one solar fan for garage . Chris offered to finish out last few feet of OSB flooring over garage to far wall and install an electric attic fan at no additional cost.(although later it turned out we only needed the solar fan over the attic).
