+ -1 moreWe had a list of outlets and circuits that weren't working, maybe 5 different problems. I'm often a do it-your-selfer for these kinds of projects. But I would have spent the whole weekend diddling with these switches and outlets. The electrician knocked it all out in 90 min. For each problem he looked at, he assessed the situation instantly and fixed it. I would have had to study, debug, and try not to shock myself on each one. Bottom line: smart and fast.

I'd definitely use his services again, if needed. His price was a little higher than electricians I've used in the past, but I trust him and his work more. It was worth it. And he actually reminded me to take 25$ off after I had written the check, since he offers an angie's list discount.
Description of Work: Inspected a faulty outdoor fixture, diagnosed an 'overload' problem in front foyer.

+ -1 moreOur house had the kitchen and dining room (now den) all on one circuit, including the refrigerator. We'd converted the old dining room into a den and had some computers in there, and this seemed to be too much for the circuit. Running something like an electric skillet in the kitchen would pop the breaker. We thought we needed another line run, and over the phone they quoted around $500 (after asking several questions about the house layout) for that depending on how the line had to be run. When he came out, he checked the situation and discovered two lines were running to that breaker. Took a bit to figure out the washing machine was the extra line. That should be on its own circuit, plus the existing kitchen/den line was on a 15 amp breaker and should be on a 20 amp. So he added an extra 20 amp breaker for the washing machine and upgraded the existing kitchen / den breaker. We did not have any extra space for the new breaker, so it took him a bit to hunt down the correct 15/20 dual breaker we needed. I appreciated the time he took to check out the situation, see what we really needed, and do the correct work rather than just what I asked for.
Description of Work: Added a breaker to our circuit box, moved a line off another circuit on to that one, and upgraded a seperate circuit breaker.

+ -1 moreWe lost power to 3 out of 4 outlets in our family room. Miller&Miller electric tried very hard to help over the phone, so they wouldn't have to come out and charge me. Unfortunately, we had already tried what they were suggesting, and they would have to come to the house. They were very up-front about their fees, and very nice. They would have come out the next day. Other companies I inquired with were not so up-front about their costs. I really would have liked to have used them, however their fees turned out to be more than twice that of the electrician we usually use. It's difficult to justify spending that much more. They estimated the cost of the project to be $125 (the minimum cost for the one hour of work), we ended up going with another company and spent $85, including parts that were replaced.

+ 0 moreThey did an excellent job. The job started out fairly small and I continued to add projects to their list. They were very flexible as far as adjusting their schedules to accommodate my increasing list of to-dos. They even put up with my dog who for the majority of time barked and followed their every move. For anyone who owns pets, they know what a relief it is when someone is comfortable with a stranger's pet.
Description of Work: Miller & Miller installed a total of 12 recess lights in my home. They also removed 2 existing mushroom lights from my hallway and installed them into my closets. Additionally they removed 2 sets of track lighting from the kitchen and installed them in my laundry room closet.

+ -1 moreI called in the morning and spoke to the Mrs. Miller who was waiting for her husband while in he was in surgery. When I heard that I told her that I would call someone else. She said that it wasn't serous and that they woul dlike our business. She took my phone number and said she'd call me that evening. She called around 7:00 and scheduled a technician to come out the very next day. He arrived exactly when expected, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it within an hour.

+ -1 moreThe outlets in my bathrooms and around the exterior of my home had stopped working. I called Mr. Miller and explained the issue - he gave me a solution that he said would work 90% of the time. Well, needless to say it worked like a charm. In my opinion Mr. Miller went well above and beyond. He could have come to my home, poked around for an hour, reset the ground default switch (or something like that) and charged me $150 or whatever. Sadly, I don't think many businesses (or people) operate with this much integrity. I honestly feel like I owe him and will call him exclusively the next time I'm in need of an electrician's services. I would recommend him to friends or family without hesitation. Thanks!

+ -1 moreThe Millers were wonderful. I called on a Friday evening and scheduled an appointment with them. We were very worried since it is the beginning of a weekend, the temperature below freezing, we have small children and no heat in the house. Mr. Miller listened to our situation and suggested that we go try to turn the circuits back on one more time. Explaining in detail how we should do this. My husband was a bit skeptical since the circuits did not stay on in previous attempts. Using Mr. Millers advice, the circuits were turned back on and stayed on. The heat and oven had come back on. I called the Millers back to thank them for their help and to let them know that their suggestion had worked. Saturday morning Gail Miller called to make sure our heat was still working and to let us know that they were working all weekend if we had any further problems. Her call was a nice surprise!
Description of Work: Our oven went out(burning and shut itself down). When the oven blew out, it also took out both of the heating units in our house. We were not able to get the heat(or oven)to come back on. The Millers were right there when I called(on a Friday evening)and scheduled our service for the following morning. Mr. Miller offered advice on how to fix the problem. We were able to fix the problem, no service was required.

+ -1 moreThe guys showed up on time and got right to work. They performed the work efficiently and the overall results were very good. The only negative result was some torn carpeting at one of the floor outlet sites. Fortunately it is covered by furniture and we will try to have it repaired. Millier & Miller gave us a discount because of this and the result was very good value service. We understand things like this can happen and voluntarily adjusted the price.
Description of Work: Moved ceiling chandelier, installed 2 floor outlets, and moved in-wall audio control.

+ -1 moreI did not have any work done by them, but that fact that they suggested I have my power company check my problem for free first before they came out makes them aces in my book.
Description of Work: I contacted Miller and Miller because I was having problems with all the lights in my house dimming on a somewhat constant basis, for about a month. I explained what was happening to them and I was told that the electrician was busy but would call me back. He called me back later that day to say that he had checked on my house and noticed that my wiring in the neighborhood was all underground. He suggested that I contact the power company and have them come out and check it since it would be a free service from power company, than having him have to charge me a service call to come out. I contacted the power company. I have to say, Miller and Miller were much more pleasant and courteous than the woman I spoke to from the power company. They came out that day and determined that there was something wrong with the transformer on my road. When they got there, my neighbors came out and two of them said they were having the same problem. The power company fixed the problem and it didn't cost me a thing. I was grateful to Miller and Miller for recommending I contact my electric company to save me money. They helped me without them charging me. They could have just as easily charged me to come out and tell me the same thing and I would have been out a service fee. They are a very honest company and I will use them again for my electric needs. I appreciated what they did for me. They are true professionals. Thanks Miller and Miller.

+ 0 moreThey were amazing to work with. We called them based on reviews on Angie's List and got an immediate response that they would call later in the day to go over details of the job. Dale worked with me on the phone for more than 30 minutes, looking at digital photographs I sent over to figure out what kind of work could be done. He was able to schedule the appointment within days of the call, but I asked for an appointment a week and a half later so that we could have time to think it through, etc. He scheduled us with his partner. As soon as we made a decision about the kitchen, I contacted to cancel and she was incredibly nice. All in all, I'd highly recommend them based on their professionalism and responsiveness alone!
Description of Work: We contacted Miller and Miller to do some electrical creative task lighting work in our kitchen. We decided to change our plans with regard to the lighting, so we canceled our appointment with them.

+ 0 moreAn overhead light started to spark and flicker after I changed some bulbs and smoke came from the dimmer switch. Mr. Miller was able to come the same day that I called. He was running a little late after his last job and called to to tell me and asked if it was OK to come later. I was grateful that he could make it. He diagnosed the problem and used stuff I already had to fix it. He was courteous, thoughtful and efficient. The price was less than initially quoted because of the Angie's List referral. I was thrilled to have light for the 22 guests who came for Thanksgiving.
Description of Work: Evaluated outlets in breakfast area. Determined that the problem was the light fixture. Replaced the light fixture with another that I already had. Also replaced the light switch for that fixture.

+ -1 moreA couple of days ago, a few outlets in my house stopped functioning. I tried to flip the breakers with no change. I called this company asking to have someone come out. The nice lady over the phone told me that it was likely the GFCI (spelling?) outlet that needed to be reset. She offered to stay on the phone while I went through the rooms that she suggested until I found the GFCI outlet to reset. (I am an idiot.) This fixed the problem with the outlets in my other room. I definitely would use them if I ever had a problem or project. This saved me a service call. They seemed very friendly and truly wanting to help. Even though I technically didn't not have any work done by them, just by this experience of telephone assistance, I feel I can highly recommend them.
Description of Work: They helped me troubleshoot an electrical outlet problem over the phone.

+ -1 moreIt was a good experience. The estimate was a little high, though. He came out for the estimate when he said he would. The estimate was neat and typed. He seemed very efficient and professional. He did call back to follow-up on the estimate, which was nice. We just chose to go with another company that was lower in price.
Description of Work: We had them come out for an estimate to do some lighting in our kitchen. This included taking down florescent lights, installing two pendant lights, installing can lighting in the ceiling, and installing lights underneath the cabinets for the counter tops.

He is very up-front about the cost (he will readily admit that he is not the cheapest electrician in the area) but his experience shows. He was always organized and had a work plan. On his initial visit, he reviewed the existing wiring and examined our circuit box. A few days later he came back with a detailed diagram of what he suggested that we do. He worked in phases while the rest of the kitchen demolition and remodeling proceeded.
Description of Work: Dale re-wired our kitchen outlets and wired the kitchen lights as part of our overall kitchen renovation. He also installed a 200 amp service.
