They were too expensive. They were nice, careful and everything but they were totally expensive. The ceiling fan was like $500 and that's crazy. They were very professional, he left me a pamphlet around here somewhere, it was more like a folder explaining the company and stuff like that.

Sal was very professional and worked diligently the entire time he was here. He allowed me to have input as to where to place the new kitchen lights and then he gave me his professional opinion as to where would be best. He cleaned up his work space once he was finished. I did not have to help him in any way and was able to continue with my schedule for the day. I would definitely recommend Michael and Son for electrical repair work. The price was competitive with other electricians in the area. I love the fact that the work is guaranteed.

Jason the plumber was great - very personable and professional, came on time, and seemed really knowledgeable and dedicated to providing high-quality work. He replaced a screw that came with the new dishwasher but had bad threads and made a few other adjustments to be sure the dishwasher would work properly and not give me any trouble. However, the price took my breath away - luckily I was able to save about $$120 through coupons, but their full price was 3x what the Home Depot installers were asking! I have no doubt that it was much better work, and I like that it's guaranteed for a year, but asking nearly $500 for two hours of work and one screw is outrageous. I also got a quote for a different project that was more than double the estimates I've received from other highly-rated plumbers in the area.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It worked out well. The young plumber was very efficient and very professional. He did a great job. He even had to call us back because he spent a lot of time trying to find a part for a sink. He couldn't find it but he called us back to let us know. They constantly made sure that we had what we needed and let us know when they would be there. Their follow up stood out. It was kind of pricey. We would use them again but we would do some price checking before we committed.

replaced a failed garbage disposal in the kitchen with a new one, middle-of-the-road. I was very pleased with the service and professionalism. They also were happy to inspect some other unrelated electrical and plumbing issues and gave me some fair estimates, which I may take them up on later. They were a pleasure to work with.

I give Michael & Son 10/10 on being quick & delivering the needed service -- in our case it was a clogged main for one of our rental properties. The tech came out very late -- 9:30pm and saved the day. We were very pleased until we heard the total bill for the service -- seemed high, but maybe I'm just cheap.

All when as expected and even maybe better than expected.

We had several issues to address as part of an inspection report relating to the sale of our home. I was impressed by the professionalism and the quick work that the team did. We were also able to schedule visits easily and efficiently. All work was fully explained to us and options were given regarding how we would like to proceed with repairs. I especially liked that they were careful not to track dirt in the house by using a custom doormat, shoe covers and/or removing shoes entirely. Would definitely use this company again! Regarding the price we paid - most of the cost was for materials to addressed the electrical bonding work which required dozens of feet of expensive copper wire. The service costs were very reasonable.

Sal did a nice job putting up all the new lights and installing the new electrical outlets and covers. He always let me know what he was doing and why. Although there was a lot of work to be done, I felt the price was a bit high. But I understand that the work is guaranteed if something should go wrong.

They quoted me a good price on the new unit, with 0% financing for 55 months. I live on a slope so they recommended composite. No other company has done that. Very professional.

Was not equipped to install chandelier on such a high ceiling. Representative commented that wiring in chandelier was not acceptable although chandelier had just been rewired. Eventually used another electrician.

The plumber looked at the hot water head and assessed that it needed to be replaced. He was thorough and I believed what he was telling me. It would have been cheaper to go get one at Lowe's across the street from where I live, however did not know how that would have turned out with installation. The plumber told me that he could go get the new hot water heater that day and have it installed within a few hours.

The plumber arrived promptly and spent alot of time going through information about the company and coupons, etc. they have in their customer packet he brought with him. After about 30 minutes he went up stairs to look at the shower. The faucett is only accessible through the wall of our walk-in closet. He had to cut a hole but never mentioned that he wouldn't be repairing it in the price that he quoted us. So he left a large hole in the wall. He also took a long time to install 5-6 hours and even though he put covers over his shoes, he tracked water up and down the stairs and in the bathroom. We were ready for him to leave. We also noticed after he left, he knocked over a vase in the closet and broke it and then just covered it up. He spent quite a bit of time also trying to upsell other products/services for HVAC and plumbling. This company spends too much time trying to upsell their products. We were definitely not satisified and will not be using this company again.

Great to begin with. got teh estimate to do ALL the work needed. It was going to be around $5000.00 so we decided to do it in sections of importance. The house was built in the 50's so some of the electrical is not the best in the world. Got the first part scheduled and on the morning he was supposed to show up - got a call saying he wouldn't be there because of sick kid. No worries other than I had taken the day off from my work to be there to let him in the house. So we scheduled another time for him to come out on a Saturday am. He was an hour late (he did call). Very nice guy. Went over what he would be doing. Also asked about adding an overhead light to the list. The wire was already ran for it and just hanging from the ceiling. He gave me a quote - Can't remember exactly the number but it would be around $460.00 for all of it (two outlets, one overhead light and connect power to already ran wire to panel box.). I thought it was a little high but I'm not an electrician. So he went about his work. Very clean - work little footies and had a paper mat he put at the front door to not track in dirt. Like I had stated the house was built in the 50's and the panel box is in the basement. Stairs are steep and I warned him about ducking his head when he went down. Well he hit his head - I heard him scream. I'd have screamed too. Seemed to go down hill from there. He showed me that the over head light had power to it regardless of whether the switch was on or off. Said it would be another $200 to diagnose why it was that way. Well, it wasn't before - why it would be now I have to idea. I told him to leave it alone. He finished the outlets and was cleaning up ready to go when i said "so we have power now to those outlets?" He said "yes" and proceeded to show me that we did NOT have power to those outlets. He had to go back downstairs and figure out why. But he would have left if i hadn't asked him. Could not believe it. Then when he finished fixing that I asked him what had been wrong. He said the wire was bad and all he did was "giggle it" and now it worked. Wow.....and to top it all off. I had to patch the hole he left around one of the outlets where he had cut into the sheetrock even more and the cover didn't cover the hole. I should have charged him for my labor. Won't be using these guys again for anything..... UPDATE: JASON MEEHAN CAME TODAY AND FIXED EVERYTHING. MICHAEL AND SON GAVE US A PARTIAL REFUND AND MADE GOOD ON THE WORK THAT HAD NOT BEEN DONE PROPERLY TO BEGIN WITH. VERY PLEASED AND WOULD USE THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

It was actually not that great. He tried to tell us that he would not take the coupon because he is already giving us such a big discount on the repair which was way more than the other companies had quoted us. It was a pretty negative experience. At first, he wanted to charge us $800 and we talked him down to I think $400 and then use the coupon for $200 of the $400. Since he was refusing to take the coupon, I basically said "Well, I am going to call your manager tomorrow and complain about this" and then all of a sudden he said "okay well let me call and see what I can do" and he ended up taking it. It was just kind of ridiculous that I was to make a complaint for them to accept the coupon. It was disappointing. It felt like he was just trying to charge us as much as he possibly could. I actually looked at the parts beforehand and so the parts themselves were not even $50. We could have gotten an entire new water heater for $800. They were actually like super late, they said they will be here at 5:00, did not show up until almost 6:30 at night. He had to use our hose to drain the water heater and left everything under the house.

He never game me the estimate after he came out to measure for the estimate even after I called him.

First visit went well with expense on the high side but quality of work good. Work completed in about 2.5 - 3 hours. Second visit several months later was cancelled when same price quoted (about $500) for a much easier exact replacement installation of an easily accessible under counter water heater (what was essentially 30 minute installation). In both cases plumber took about 20 minutes looking up fee schedule on computer, and discussing other services and promotions. Plumber was courteous and competent but appeared locked into a corporate pricing matrix which was time consuming and on the high end. When I objected to price being same as that of the first visit the plumber called his manager and I was offered discounted rate of about $400. I declined and paid a discounted trip charge.

I purchased a coupon from Angie's list hoping to save money on a simple repair. $119 for $200 worth of service. The plumber arrived on time, and was very polite. No issues with the quality of work performed (as of this date). However, the plumber constantly tried to sell me more services and overstate the small problems as if they were potential life threatening disasters. One example, is when I asked how much it would cost to install a garbage disposal, I was quoted $600. I knew that seemed expensive so I passed on that service. I later went to Lowes, and had the garbage disposal installed for $99 including a warranty. I ending up spending around 1000 for 2 minor services (on top of the coupon price). Because I was in a time constraint, and did not shop around I ending up being overcharged. I blame myself for the stupidity. Two weeks later, after telling my friends of the experience, and being laughed at, I called three other plumbers, and was quoted a prices between $200-$300 dollars for the services provided based on the invoice provided. For fixing a running toilet and adjusting water pressure, I overpaid by almost $700. An expensive lesson learned to teach myself to shop around and get multiple estimates before paying any plumber or contractor.

I bought the Big Deal as I needed 2 outside hosebibs replaced, and I figured $200 should have gone a long way to getting this done. I have had this identical work done by a reputable Angie's List provider in Raleigh a few years ago for ~$150 a piece, I guessed that this would be the ballpark. How wrong was I. The guy quoted me $400 per hosebib, plus some other $300-ish charge on the estimate that we didn't even talk about because I was so flabbergasted at the hosebib item. To his credit he tried to shave some price off, but the job would still have been over $1000. It was all I could do to not call the police and run him out of my house screaming ROBBERY!!!! I probably shouldn't even mention them trying to charge me a $29 dispatch fee, but I just did (I refused to pay this). I've since been refunded my Big Deal, which was a painless process. Each contact with the company throughout this ordeal has been friendly, gracious, and super professional, but whatever quote sheet/estimate they're working out of is clearly from another planet.

The job went great, and when they hit an issue, they called in SMEs to help. Very professional!!

When the plumber, Brian, showed up. He looked at what needed done and sat down at the table with me and gave me my options - not just a repair but told me he could do one of 3 options which is great. Depending on your budget, it is always a good thing to have options. He explained to me all the work that needed to be done in the toilet tanks and the work is guaranteed for a year. I even asked about some other plumbing needs in the house and got quotes for that work at a later time this year! I would definitely recommend Michael and Sons and buying the deal on Angie's list was great!

Plumber arrived on time, was great to work with and promptly repaired leaking water pipe, and did not leave until everything was completed 4 hours later. Very nice job. Would recommend although a bit on the pricey side.

The service was really good. They were expensive but it was really good service. I would almost describe it as red carpet service which I'm not sure we would be willing to pay on a large project but it was very good. They were very professional. They were awfully expensive so we probably wouldn't use them again.
