Did not do plumbing inspection as advertised, only tested water quality. I will not use this provider again!

I would use this group again. For me that says it all. I am very particular.

They overcharge and do marginal work. Somebody has to pay for all those thousands and thousands of dollars of obnoxious advertisements on the radio. Call somebody who will charge an honest amount and do good quality work.

They did a good job. They came out here and basically gave me a free quote. The only thing that I wasn’t happy with is I didn’t get a written bid.

FANTASTIC SERVICE! BOTH SERVICE CALLS, the repairman, phone appointment person and Angie's Deal price were everything a person could want - and MORE. He was courteous and insisted on wearing little shoe booties (even when I told him it wasn't necessary). The parts were high quality. He explained what he was doing and what had caused the problem. He arrived on time and called 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival time - AS PROMISED. I will use them again when I get a new hot water heater and air conditioner. I would recommend Michael and Son to anyone - and you know how everyone worries about this kind of service, cost and appointment punctuality.

They were on time like they said they would be. They did great work. They cleaned out all the iron in the water and it now looks crystal clear. The water heater works like a champ.

Called to have an someone come out and install 3 ceilings fans in my bedrooms, where there was no existing light. Operator on the phone was very pleasant to deal with scheduled appointment timely. Appointment was a window between 12-4, which is a little inconvenient since I had to take off work to be there to meet with them. The technician did call about 15 minutes before arrival. Technician was very professional and courteous. They promised that they would clean up thoroughly after the work was completed, but he left a small mess in the closet where he had to access the attic. Otherwise did a good job of cleaning up after the work was performed. Overall, quality of work was good, but think the price was very high. The work took a total of 4.5 hours and they charged ~$1,000 which is a little over $200/hr. Which I thought was high. For that price I would have expected exceptional service and quality of work and an exact appointment time. I felt that it was good, but there was a couple small issues that won't have been a huge deal if I hadn't been paying that price. I would maybe use them again, but I think that if I need electrical work in the future I would shop around and try someone else first.

I didn't hear from the company for about a week after I purchased the deal even though they are supposed to contact me within 2 days. Even after I emailed them, it took a few days for them to respond. Once they did, they were very easy to schedule the visit so I'm not sure what the holdup was on the initial contact. A technician came out to do a price quote on some toilets that are occasionally running and check the water pressure. The technician confirmed the water pressure was low and quoted me $400 to replace the valve on the water pressure which seemed high to me. Then, the real shock came, they quoted me $336 to replace the inside guts on a toilet. Now, I've fixed these before and I can tell you that the parts at Lowes are $20 and it takes about 45 minutes of my time and I'm no expert. So, how they got to $336 for each toilet is beyond me. To add shock to my already flabbergasted face, he then told me I could upgrade to a new toilet for just $495. Wow...I didn't see the upsell coming on a toilet whose only problem is that it is occasionally left running. After he presented this all to me, he asked which ones I wanted to do. The answer is clearly none of them as the water pressure is not a significant burden and I (as well as most any monkey) can take care of the toilets. Anyhow, I thought they would come out and quote me $200 based on my other interactions with plumbers. I really can't figure out how they got to those prices. Unless you have money burning holes in your pockets, I would avoid this place. Oh...I almost forgot. My favorite part. He looked at the water heater and said "probably installed in 2008". He then asked me when the house was built and I told him 2000 to which he responded "yeah, this is probably the original water heater" and told me sometimes the water pressure is low from that so I may want to consider a new one of those. Unbelievable!

The serviceman was prompt and very friendly. He took his time in explaining in detail what he found and provided recommendations. We are in the process of buying a home and found this service to be very worth the investment.

It went very well with the company. He was very thorough and did a great inspection on all aspects. He even gave me 5 options in terms of solutions to my problem. He spent an hour which impressed me. I would give a high remark on his service.

I feel completely robbed. I thought about writing a review for a while but until today had decided not to. I dont recall the exact date or the exact cost. It was early June and on a weekend though. We called b/c our water heater had gone out. When my husband tried to re-light it, it threw off a very large flame. So, we immediately called to have someone come out and make sure there wasnt anything wrong with the unit before allowing it to run. The man who answered the call quoted us a price for someone to come out and diagnose the problem and indicated any additional cost for repair would be discussed with us after diagnostics were done. So, the service man came out and lit the water heater and said there was no problem with it and handed us a bill for far more than we were quoted over the phone. When I asked why we were being charged so much, he indicated it was b/c there was a fee to start our water heater that was not included in the diagnostic fee. However, to diagnose if there was a problem, he had to start up the heater. So bluntly, they lied to us when they provided a price over the phone for service call plus diagnosis of problem and further lied when they said any additional cost would be discussed with us after diagnosis. I'd never use this company again.

Michael and Sons was very professional. They noticed a few other issues with the plumbing and provided several detailed quotes for the extra work needed. The quotes were very detailed and gave Good, better and best scenarios and with quotes.

Extremely responsive, professional and thorough. I will use them again and reccommend their services.

Plumber called to give me a quote. It was for a rental property and I was not on site. He quoted me ~$650 which I thought was kind of expensive for a faucet. He told me I was receiving a faucet valued at $300 which I accepted. I searched the model number that was installed from the invoice and saw that it is available at Home Depot for $100. I called and asked about the discrepancy in which they would not reply. I realize. That I had the option to not use them when they gave me a quote but felt it was acceptable when they informed me of a higher quality faucet. I would not recommend them.

Communication was good with the company. Electrician arrived on time and was very pleasant. Explained everything he did, gave estimates on possible future projects, and performed a free electrical safety inspection. Overall experience was great. Would recommend this company to others.

That was fine and I think we ended up paying more than it would be. They're very competent and very nice. I guess what really stands out was that we were a little bit confused for that thing but he set it and it worked out. They're very courteous and on top of their bill.

Very timely and professional service. Septic pipe leak under house was repaired & septic pump was replaced & rewired after lightning damage. Brad was courteous, quick, and professional. Highly recommended; will use Michael and Son again.

They were by far the most responsive of the 4 contractors that we contacted. They set an appointment when we called and kept the appointment as scheduled. The sales rep was very thorough and professional. I felt confident in the information that he gave me. He offered 6 options to choose from with pricing for each in a very readable quote format. They offered a great complimentary service package as well. There pricing was a little bit higher than the contractor that we went with but not by much. We ultimately went with another contractor because my husband had connections with them through his business. I would recommend Michael and Sons to anyone as a trustworthy, reliable, honest contractor.

After buying house, I found that the plumber's inspection was surprisingly accurate on every issue. Faucets needed replacing, garbage disposal bad, outside faucet leaks, toilets needed replacing. Write-up was great as well. Estimates for the work were a bit on the high side. I highly recommend them for entire plumbing inspection before buying house.

The dispatcher was very polite, but I am shocked that they would charge me $29 to come out to do an estimate. Of course that would be applied to my bill if they did the work, but none of the other contractors have required me to pay anything to do the estimate. I'm not sure how these guys can compete when their competitors aren't doing that. Very annoying.

There were no troubles with scheduling and they were able to come out within about a week after purchasing the deal. One technician came for the work and completed the job in a few hours. There was not an existing light and he ran new wiring and a box. He cleaned up well after completing the work. He did a great job and I would use them again!

Just completed another great experience with Michael & Son electrician, Todd. He installed my second ceiling fan without any problems in a timely and professional manner. The first one he did for me about two months ago demonstrated the flexibility of this company. I had purchased a fan from Lowe's which Todd discovered did not work only after completely installing it. He took it down, re-boxed it and put it in the trunk of my car. He called his dispatcher and told him to be on the alert for my phone call later in the day to reschedule within 48 hours at my convenience. I bought a new fan, Todd came out and it was done - no muss, no fuss. Great company, great personnel!

Paid $29 for water quality check. Didn't call me to schedule appointment had to call them. Told me I needed about $7000 worth of repairs and equipment including water filtration system(which I already had they didn't bother to look). Called another plumber (Donnie Thompson out of Knightdale) to get a second opinion. He did everything I needed and it cost me $168, a savings of over $6000.

Was thinking of buying their "Big Deal", $200. worth of labor for $120. Called for an estimate, they said they had to come out to do estimate. Price quoted to do some minor repairs: replace 2 sink drains, replace 2 sink shutoff valves, replace water line connector to refrigerator. Priced quoted was over $900. which to me was incredibly high. I did the repairs myself, I know very little about plumbing, watched a couple of YouTube videos, the work took 5 hours for me with almost no plumbing knowledge and cost me $70. in parts. Be sure to get an estimate before you buy the big deal.. And confirm they won't charge you just for providing the estimate itself.

They never contacted me. I am requesting a refund.
