Service was done quickly and the provider was able to give some discount and advice on other issues I was having.

The service provider was very professional - no problem here. The quality of the work was OK - although the kitchen faucet handle became loose again after 1 day. The main issue is the price. I have hired plumbers before and I know it can get pricey but my charges were over the top. I was sort of locked in since I purchased the "get $200 of services for $119". Unfortunately that didn't even cover 1 toilet. My advice: shop around. There are a lot of good plumbers with better rates.

We remodeled our kitchen 2 years ago and ever since our master double sink has not drained properly. Fixing it has been on my todo list but never at the top. When a promotion appeared on Angie's list I decided to delegate the repair, First irritant was that I had eventually to call the vendor to get an appointment scheduled; I had expected to be contacted based on my Angie's List input. When the plumber arrived he was friendly and courteous, listened to my explanation, inspected the sink and drain (even from the crawlspace) and made a recommendation for a +$1000 repair. He also tried to up sell me on an extended maintenance plan. I declined both projects and was dismayed to find that my prepayment via Angie's list did not cover the service call charges, a fact that was not I was however inspired to go lookup the plumbing codes for P-traps and discovered that the seal depth was inadequate to provide proper fall for the drain from one sink. I also discovered that the remodeler had installed a reducing coupling on the drain line. I opened the drywall, cut out and replaced the reducer, replaced the drywall, built a P-trap with the correct seal depth from parts, and reassembled the drain. For about $60 and a day's work, I fixed the problem. Seems like the pro could have done this....

In September 2014 I purchases a Home Care Plan with Michael and Son. This covers HVAC, plumbing and electrical. Jace the HVAC guy arrived promptly and immediately discovered that the motor and fan needed to be replaced but the system was still operational. He ordered the part and returned the following Monday to install the new part. The cost was $0.00 because I had purchases the Home Care Plan and the parts were covered. Jace was friendly and did a great job. I would recommend this company to family and friends.

The appointment was between 8 and 12 and Pete was at my house by 8:30. He was friendly and talked me through what he was going to do. Once he removed the old hot water heater, he let me pull up the old flooring under the heater, about 15 minutes. He worked on my project all day and didn't leave until it was completed and I was satisfied with all work. I would and have recommended Michael and Son to friends and family. If you want quality plumbing work done, ask for Pete the Plumber.

The appointment was schedule between 8 - 12 and Isaac arrived around 8:30 ready to go. He explained in detail what he need to do the remove the old fuse box and replace the new one. He explained the grounding cable and where and how it need to be installed. He worked until the job was completed , about 9:30 that evening. He had a helper, but he left early leaving the job to be completed by Isaac. Isaac is a friendly but professional electrician and I will have him back to do other electrical needs in my home.

The tech was scheduled between 8-12 he arrived at 8:25. He was friendly and courteous. He cleaned up after having to remove all of the items from under the sink. I asked many questions and he never became frustrated or impatient with me, which of course I appreciate. He did a great job and I'm willing to pay for good service, but Michael and Sons are definitely on the upper end of the price spectrum; that is why I gave a B rating. The $118 was a special they were running at the time.

Electrician was prompt and courteous. Asked what issues I was having, and reviewed the locations. Explained the cost, and then went right to work. When complete, asked if I had any other issues. I noted the circuit breaker that would trip very easily. I was able to reproduce the problem, and he installed the replacement. No problems since. Cost was a bit high, but with the other attributes being so positive, I would use this provider again, and recommend.

This provider will not quote fees over the phone. So you have to agree to pay $25 to have them send someone out to see what needs to be done and give you a quote. Once he arrived, the plumber quoted me over $350 plus the $25 show-up fee to replace the shower valve. After I complained that I thought I would be able to get the valve replaced for the $200 voucher, he finally offered to waive the $25 fee and to replace the shower valve for about $275. He said that it cost so much because it would take him an hour to do the work. Since I had already taken off work, I decided to accept this offer figuring that my total cost would be about $200 with the voucher savings. He finished the work in about 25-30 minutes. Prior to that I had also asked the provider what it would cost to repair two toilets that were hard to flush because something was sticking inside the toilet. He quoted me over $300 per toilet because he said that the entire inner working parts of the toilet had to be replaced. I told him "no thanks!" I am a single mother. A month later I starting dating a new guy. He got really frustrated with my toilets being so hard to flush. I told him what the plumber had said and that I could not afford to pay that much to fix them. He did a little research on-line, bought a $1.99 part at Lowe's for each toilet, and fixed both toilets. Four months later they are still working fine (and the guy is now my boyfriend!). Hopefully I'll never need to call a plumber again. But if I do, I would not call this company.

From the beginning to end this company was extremely professional. The night before the appt I received a 1 page intro of who would be coming to my home with a picture of the plumber, great idea. "Pete the plumber" called 30 mins before arriving and was meticulous in my home, taking off his disposable shoe covers many times. He explained the options available to me to fix the situation and did not try to oversell me more than was necessary. The work was completed in a timely manner and everything was cleaned up before he left. I would use Michael & Son again the next time I need a plumber.

I was given a 4 hour window by the company--Noon to 4pm. Didn't like such a large timeframe, but took it. At 3pm, I called to see where we are in the "stack". They called me back around 3:15 & said "we are next, shouldn't be but a few minutes". Still no repairman at 5pm. Finally, around 5:15 repairman called and said he would be there "shortly". Told him to forget it. After a 5+ hour wait & hardly any followup by the company, they had no credibility left with my wife and I. We literally wasted the afternoon. I'm sure there are good HVAC companies out there. This isn't one of them. We plan on avoiding Michael & Son in the future.

I've used them two or three times and they happen to be coming out today to give me an estimate on what a new air conditioning system would cost because the one in the house is 13 years old and I don't want to be blind sighted when its time to get a new one. Around here and in several cities, they are like the number one top of the hill company but they are a little more expensive than anybody else. But then again you get what you pay for. The work that they did for me on the two occasions that they came out, one was for plumbing and one was for electric. They did a fantastic job. Both of the guys were extremely professional both times that they came out. I think I used one of Angie's List specials to do the recent work. I would recommend them to any body. They were not the cheapest but because of my other experience with them and their reputation, I was willing to give them that extra 25 dollars knowing they were going to do a great job.

Generally, it was good. I thought he was quick to respond to my queries, very punctual and he took ample time to explain what he was doing. However, it was a bit pricey. Also, I was expecting to leave me the lamp that was replaced, which was essentially in working condition. Unfortunately,when I called him back to ask where the lamp is, he apparently has disposed it to the garage. Quite disappointed, because i just lost a $100 worth there.

They were fine but it just cost too much money and I wasn't able to do the stuff that I needed done.

The installer wanted $200 for installing a faucet. We agreed and it took him 45 minutes to do it. That seemed highly overpriced service call to us. We used regularly used another plumber in the past and paid only $90/hour. He was busy and needed the faucet replaced. Thought will use these guys as pretty highly rated on Angie's. What really p***** me off is that the installer refused to install a $3 cover for the spare hole in the counter top that was not needed with the new install. My wife told him that they can charge us but at least finish the job. But he refused and said they do not do that work. I find it flabbergasting that they left the job as being all done with a hole in the countertop. I ended up going to home depot and buying the cover and installing it myself. I do not understand how they can say no to installing a simple cover for the hole in the counter.

Overall, the service and experience were very good! Michael & Son provided service within 48 hours of my call. The plumber, Peter, was very knowledgeable, experienced, polite and professional. The service call was initially to install a new garbage disposal. Peter explained the choices available, and the pros and cons of the different garbage disposals. It was good that he had all the supplies/equipment on the truck. In the course of installing the new disposal, Peter discovered one of the connecting water pipes had been cracked/broken and covered up by the plumbing company which installed the old disposal about seven years ago. Peter took the time to explain the problem and make this unexpected, additional repair - which added a couple of hours to the scheduled appointment. I initially felt the cost for service and the replacement disposal was a bit high, but imagine this is the going rate for this type of service. I had purchased the Angie's List "Michael & Son" discount coupon which was "$200 worth of service for $119". The total bill for the new Insinkerator Pro 880 stainless steel model with reduced noise, the service call, and installation of the unit was $734.80. The additional charge for the repair of the cracked plumbing pipe (materials and labor) was $225 - a total of $959.80. My Angie's List discount of $200 brought the total charge down to $759.80. All things considered - service call, labor for garbage disposal installation, new high-end, stainless steel Insinkerator garbage disposal, and the additional time, labor and materials to repair a cracked pipe - I felt that $759.80 was a good value. Many plumbers charge over $100 just to make the service trip, then add on labor time and materials. If you use Michael & Son, ask for "Peter the Plumber" - he has a lot of experience and does a VERY good job. He takes the time to make sure the work is done properly and that you are satisfied with the work.

Pete the Plumber was great. He not only fixed leaks but he referred me to a company that could come in and take care of the water problem.

The plumber who name is John was an all star. He was very professional, talk to me on my level, to the point were i was able to understand what he was going to do. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give him and Michael and Sons a 100 . I highly recommend John and the company Michael and Sons for all your plumbing needs above other plumbing companies.

Absolutely horrible. I hired those guys to do stuff that I thought I couldn't do. He didn't do anything more than I could of done, and he didn't do the job. I could of fixed it myself if I could of got the faucet off, but I couldn't so I thought there guys were professionals and maybe they had the tools that I didn't have. I made an appointment and they called up and said that they couldn't make the appointment because they had an emergency with another customer. So I had to reschedule the next day, the guy showed up and I told him exactly what the problem was. He tried to do the same thing I did and couldn't get it done either. He had some problems and said well, I'm not sure if I have all the proper stuff on my truck even if I do get this off. After trying and trying he got one of them off and was able to fix one out of 4 or 5. He asked where a Home Depot was and I told him where it was and he left here at 11:00, at 2:20 he shows back up. He said he had to go to their supply center and they didn't have all of what I need either. So I told him to button up, pack up his tools and get the hell out of here.

I looked them up in the little book you mail me, called them and had them do the work. It was very good. They were excellent. I was really surprised because they came out on a Sunday. I didn't expect that. Usually you can't get your contractor on a weekend and if they do, they charge you twice as much money. But the man that came told me that, they had just started working on Sunday. It is just like a normal day now. I certainly didn't expect that when he showed up on a Sunday. They had a normal fee as far as supplying the toilet and installation and all that sort of thing. Their person that came and did it was fantastic. He did a great job and even did some extras for me. I was having a little leaking problem with and he repaired it too. They were here the next day when I called them.

Salesman helped us make the right choices. Work done in a professional manner. Very happy with the results.

I had two live wires that needed to be capped off. They were very professional and did a great job. They came totally prepared and were very knowledgeable, however, there was some confusion regarding the extra charges to fix our live wire issues.

It went very well. We had an option to completely stop something if we bought something so I bought it. It was pretty reasonable. I will use them again in a heartbeat.
