LOGAN TRADING COMPANY

I started my contact with Logans Design in late April or early May of this year. By mid-July I still did not have a written estimate for the work. When I finally received the estimate (after making multiple attempts to move the project along through two full months of May and June) it was not an itemized description of labor or materials and was more than twice as much as another estimate I'd already received from another professional installer. I wasted my own time waiting on Logans and I missed totally the opportunity to hire another contractor for the work based on my willingness and patience to see the Logans process through. I also paid for the initial design time long before I ever got an estimate! They lack professionalism even though they enjoy a great reputation in our community; I accepted their excuses and delays because of that great reputation and in return I was treated like a customer whose business just wasn't important enough to them.

The staff there are super friendly and super helpful. When purchasing my poinsettias a staff member helped me pick out some great specimens and wrapped them for me to take home. I have always been offered help getting my purchases to my car, which I gladly take them up on. When I returned to purchase my bird feeder, one of the ladies working there knew an awful a lot about the bird feeders and what our local birds like. I have been extremely pleased with my purchases and the birds are too! I will definitely use Logan's for all my gardening needs!

I purchased an outdoor wicker hanging basket from Logan's last summer. After less than a year, the paint peeled off the wires to such a significant extent that I was no longer able to use it. I returned the basket to Logan's and requested a credit since I did not have the original receipt. I was very disappointed in their overall attitude toward customer service. One person told me the basket was not purchased there (even though it was). Another person told me it was a display basket that someone from Logan's painted to match their decor - and therefore, I should not have purchased it. Another person said they wouldn't take the return because it had been used outside when in fact it was an outdoor hanging planter! None of these things were true - the basket was sold to me as full price ($70-$90) merchandise. In the end, I was offered a $25 gift certificate which I accepted even though it was much less than the purchase price. Even with that resolution, I was made to feel like their shoddy quality item was my fault. I found their customer service to be exceptionally poor - much less than I would expect from this store.

I worked with Gail, the landscape designer and she was very helpful in helping me decide on what kind of trees to plant in my backyard for privacy. Her contractor came out on Thursday to install a few of the trees and he was really nice. They were great, they are a local company, and I would recommend them. He was actually here a day early.

Large display in the heart of Raleigh in an old Railroad Station. Have everything from yard ornaments, to greenhouse items. Rotates with the season. Have used for poinsettia, herbs and annual flowers, plus bulbs. They have excellent staff to help the decorating impaired make things look nice. I got a plant and got it decorated as a going away gift.
