He does a good job, he's been here with us for years. He's the only one we'll call for heating and air.
Description of Work: We had an animal that got stuck and had died actually in one of our air conditioning ducts, and he actually went into the house, dropped the vent and we still got to get it fixed, but we got rid of the animal, it was awful. The dogs started smelling something funky and that was just not a pretty thing, and he didn't charge us. But he's coming back to fix some stuff for us.

My home was two years old when the AC went out last year. I contacted Loflin because this is the company that the builder, Adam's Homes contracted to install the unit. After repeated calls and no response from Loflin, I had to pay another company to make the repair (refill the unit with freon). There was a freon leak in my two year old AC unit. Once Loflin reps did respond, I was informed that that there was a leak in the coil and although the part is under warranty the labor would be $795.00. This was much more than we'd expected to pay for a repair on a new home. Today, 4/23/12 I am scheduled to have the repair completed (the coil replaced). My appointment time was 8am. It is now 12:20 & the Loflin repairman has not arrived. I have called the secretary's phone. Below is a list of excuses that were provided: the repairman had to go get the part, the repairman went to the wrong house, she sent him to the wrong address, the repairman must go back to get the part for my unit, again. He should be here soon, she informed two hours ago. When I call now the secretary don't answer the phone. (I had to cancel a physical therapy appointment due Loflin's lack of professional punctuality.) 12:25, the secretary answers the phone and informs me that the repairman has just left my neighborhood (not my home) and he is on his way to Durham, NC (I live in Zebulon). She also added that this is her fault. 2:30 is the time of the serviceman's arrival. I requested an adjustment in our charges. The secretary took $100 off for our inconvenience. FYI:In my new development 5 out of 17 homes have had service calls on their 1 -3 year old AC systems that Loflin installed
Description of Work: The serviceman took freon out of our unit, replaced the old coil and refilled the unit with freon. He job took one hour. The serviceman was friendly & he apologized for the inconvenience.

If you ever buy an A/C from these guys don't ever expect to ever get any warranty service. Also, what kind of A/C system breaks after less than a year of service? I cannot recommend this company at all.
Description of Work: Loflin's HVAC will not pick up their phone and refuses to return any calls to fix my A/C. I left over 10 voice messages in a three weeks. I purchased my new house July 2008 and it came with a one year warranty on the air conditioner Loflin's HVAC installed. A few weeks ago the A/C on the 2nd floor stopped working. I called the Loflin's HVAC and told them to return my call so they could fix it since it was around 100 degrees on the 2nd floor. The phone number they gave goes straight to voice mail. I left over 10 voice messages within a three week period asking them to return my phone call so they could fix the A/C which is still under warranty. With no return phone call, I called the builder, Vesta Homes, and they also left several voice messages on their voice mailbox. They were not able to get a hold of the company either. I thought perhaps the company went out of business but yesterday when I called to leave another voice message, the voice mail recording had changed that asks customers to inquire about a $1500 tax rebate. From this I concluded that they have been checking their voice messages but just have not been returning my phone calls because they do not want to fix my A/C which is under warranty. I tried all the numbers listed for Loflin's HVAC including 919-427-3455 and 919-779-4284.

The representative charged us $100 to look at the furnace and said that a part needed to be replaced, and that the part would have to be ordered. After a day or two, we hadn't heard back from Loflin so we contacted them and they said the part had been ordered but had not yet come in. We called them again two more times and got the same story. Finally, we realized that they were lying to us- they had not ordered the part, and they had no intention of fixing our furnace, and we had wasted our money and lived without heat for several days due to their complete lack of honesty. Ultimately, we had someone else fix the furnace- they were able to fix it in a single visit using a standard part. We never heard from Loflin again, which proved our suspicions that they never had any intention of repairing anything- they just wanted to take $100 from us fraudulently.
Description of Work: Loflin came out to give us an estimate on reparing our furnace. We only called Loflin because they installed the furnace orginally and our home warranty required us to use them in order to be reimbursed for the cost of parts

These people are disorganized and undependable. They never checked the system they installed and the motor burned out since they never turned the water on for a hot water heating system. They do not show up for appointments. They give you the run around. They have no pride in performance. Don't call them, don't use them. You'll regret the time you wasted.
Description of Work: Loflin installed the heating and AC system in my home.
