The team was polite and patience and provided the service requested.

First experience with a handyman service since moving to NC. Cost was on the high side of the estimates, but the work performed justified the cost. Used PVC for all repairs where applicable. Very punctual. Good communication the whole way through. Good use of e-mail and even sent reminder as workday approached. Workers were courteous and cleaned up well after each phase of the repairs.

We had set up for him to come by this morning at 11 to give me an estimate. It is now 2 1/2 hrs later and he never showed or called to say he was going to be late

Terrible. I called Chris Leon and sent him pictures of the poor job his staff member had performed. For more than a year I have requested that Mr. Leon would rectify the situation. After many failed attempts to get him back out it was only with the intervention of Angie's List that Mr. Leon responded to set up a new appointment. I am most disappointed because the worker from Leon's engaged my son (14) to help him hold sheet rock , left sheet rock mud all over the staircase and front porch, and uneven sheet rock patched work. Finally Mr. Leon agreed to come out this am at 9:00 o'clock. At 9:16 am I called and text him. I called 3 times and left messages to no avail. I took off from work and had to have someone pick up my son because I would have to stay late. Finally, he called and stated some on hit his van. Every time there is a reason that he can not make it. Out of frustration, I told him I will not schedule another appointment. Angie's List stated they can no longer help because the work was performed one year ago. So I have lost my $300+ dollars and I must pay someone else to perform the repair. Mr. Leon tried to get me to take $150.00 and close this case. I am out of the $319.00, lost 2 hours at work, had to pay someone to pick my child up, and must pay for someone else to do the repair and get the sheet rock off the staircase.

I'm a new homeowner and have had to do a lot of learning about homeownership by trial and error. Luckily, I came across Chris and his company. Given the sheer scope of the work he did for me, it is impressive to look back now at how efficiently and the standard at which the work was done. The bathroom wasn't functional in the state the house was purchased and in a week, Chris and his workers had not only made it functional, but made the space feel 100% improved. He was flexible with all of my requests and let me do demo on the bathroom to save some money. The siding and windows were replaced about a month later. Once again his crew worked efficiently and informed me of any new developments or hiccups in the process. I truly appreciate all of the hard work, and will not hesitate to call Chris again if I need repairs or improvements done.

The work was performed per the contract and within the promised time frame.

Junior called me to set up a time for the estimate on 8/8 in response to an email I sent. We made a date for 10am on 8/11 for an in-home estimate. At 8:45am on 8/11, Junior texted me to say his engine broke down and we would need to reschedule. We rescheduled for 10am on 8/16. At 8:30am on 8/16, Junior calls to inform me that my house is outside his service area and he will not be coming at all. He did apologize profusely, but this held up my quote process, and I am on a very tight timeline. I find it very frustrating to be held up for over a week only to be told they don't service my area an hour and half before they were set to arrive (the second time).

What an exceptional experience! There was some urgency to getting our work done and Chris the owner prioritized us on the schedule and arrived with four extremely competent, polite and hardworking men who worked nonstop for 8+ hours to complete all the work in a single day. For most companies it would have been a 3 day job. Attention to detail was excellent and our home was left totally clean upon completion. My wife is a realtor and has already begun recommending this company to her colleagues. We would recommend for any range of work without hesitation.

Overall a very bad experience which I needed to call Angie's list twice for advice on how to handle. I had problems about the quote and subsequent discussions about extra work and surprise extra charges, and the quality of work, which caused me at least one sleepless night and several hours lost from work. The initial quote by the estimator Mario as I was led to believe covered more repairs than they were willing to do at the original price, which led to a series of discussions about why I had to pay $900 more for repairs I had expected. These included additional windows on the ground floor that required repair, and additional work on the dormer windows to repair various parts of the front facing woodwork. The original estimator said and I quote " We will take care of the windows" when I specifically asked him to make sure he included all the windows that needed repair. On the other hand the foreman told me on the day the work was started, I had to pay extra for taking care of all the windows! I asked for a quote on the additional work and I was assured no extra work would be done without my approval. I came to the house to meet the foreman withing 20 minutes of them calling me to say he was there to show me and discuss the extra work amount, but when I got there I was told by the workmen he had gone to lunch, and that they could not show me what the extra work was. I asked them to tell the foreman to call me when he got back. He called me very late in the afternoon, and I was able to get to the house not too long afterwards. At that time he told me the extra work had actually been already done, and told me the extra charge would be $900, about 50% more than the original quote. I expressed my disbelief he would do that, and said I would not agree. In particular most of the extra work he showed me was on the windows on the back deck and the dormer windows, with extra molding and panels needed than was originally quoted, he said. I told him that the original estimator had told me the "windows will be taken care of" when I specifically asked him to make sure he included all the windows trim that needed repair ( I understood that there were parts of the window next to the glass that could not be repaired). There was no reason I could determine that the "extra work" would not have been seen or anticipated based on an inspection by the estimator last month. None of those windows "extra work" was not at least partially visible or touchable damage There was some extra work on the rake above the windows, that I can understand may have been not seen at the time of inspection, but was uncovered by the crew, and I accepted that. There was also new extra charge for the two dormer windows, the original quote said the dormer window "trim" and sill would be replaced. It was very obvious there was a lot of rot there, even if it was on the second story. After work started, I was told that the quoted "trim" actually only covered a small strip of wood on either side of the window, but did not cover the other molding or other elements around the window, which they claimed only showed the possibility of peeling paint, despite the very visible rot along the trim and face. I have researched the term window trim, and if you google that term, everything I found showed window trim as being a broad category covering all the elements around a window. Yet they insisted that there should be extra charges for the other molding!! I also pointed out that one of the items that was included in the original quote was to replace two interior floor boards at the side entrance, that had blackened from water damage. Then I was told after work started that it was not possible or practical to do the interior floor boards, so I said it should not have been included in the quote and to deduct the cost from a revised estimate. After I went over the above, they offered to reduce the $900 extra charge to $400. I still did not understand what I was paying extra for, so I refused, asking to stop taking such a vague approach and instead take a professional approach to itemizing what was hidden damage that could not be seen or anticipated, from what was clearly visible or should be anticipated, and I would review that list and if there was valid hidden damage, I would decide to authorize or not authorize the extra work based on the quote for the extra work. They then showed me some of the materials bills, which had dish washing liquid on one bill, and I asked what the dish washing liquid was for, and they told me that was an error, which is why I asked for an itemized list of materials before I would pay anything. They sent me a revised quote the next day that had a large additional charge for hidden damage work and some of the extra work that had already been done without my approval. I did agree to the hidden damage quote and some of the work that was supposed to be included in the original estimate but suddenly was "extra" just to get it over with, but I did not agree to pay for any of the extra work that had already been done, and I also told them to not do any of the work from the original quote that had not been already been started (deck boards and rails front and back, and window caulking) and apply the reduction to the quote. The final quote ended up being the same dollar amount as the original with the changes noted above. It is my impression that the removal of items to be repaired from the original quote provided a relatively small reduction in cost, while the additional items "extras" were relatively costly, in my opinion. The work itself, after my inspection after they left, was not what I would consider very well done. The back window sills were not caulked underneath and there were some open holes. The upright trim put on the back windows varied greatly in alignment from window to window, and two had cracks or were gouged out. The replaced door sill on the deck side door still collected rain, which I specifically said needed to be corrected. I complained and they did come back to repair those items. There are still parts of the exterior that are rotted that I had assumed were included in the original quote, and we discovered that they had removed some wires and door alarm component that was not replaced, leaving a hole, which is still there.

In February 2014 Leon Home repairs replaced water damaged beam joist. 2 years later we've noticed water damage to internal wall around the beam. So now the same beam joist needs to be replaced again due to water damage. I contacted Leon and was informed that 'we can't do anything about those repairs. Already past 2 years'. Needless to say we will avoid their shoddy workmanship in the future.

All of the work was done with excellent quality and attention to details. We found some minor punch-list items, which they cheerfully and timely corrected. They cleaned up after themselves and often just kept cleaning, e.g. blowing pine needles off our driveway and deck.

Chris Leon and his crew are very professional and performed high quality work. I especially appreciated how Chris stayed in touch with me when the work was delayed due to bad weather. I never had to guess when he would be back. When the weather cleared up, his crew did a fantastic job and finished sooner than I thought they would. I would hire them again.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and work of the Leon Home Repairs crew. The were very responsive to my estimate request (got back to me within 24 hours), were ON TIME on the day they came to my house (this blew my mind as I've never had any home repair company/carpenter/plumber arrive on time), and their work and clean up was outstanding. I can't believe they did all that work, so well, in one day. I highly recommend.

The work was done professionally and with high quality. There was a miscommunication regarding the time the work would be completed, but the owner resolved this issue promptly and apologized for the misunderstanding. The fence and deck look new. The dog's house repairs were also well-done. Everything looks great!
