Legacy Construction and Roofing

Legacy was great, You cannot get your roof replaced under insurance unless you deal with a roofer who is an expert at dealing with insurance companies. Legacy is that roofer. They guided me through the entire process. I called in an insurance claim and on the day the insurance inspector came out the Legacy sales guy was there to get on the roof and show him the damage. The job took 2 days and the work was outstanding. Legacy included 2 leaking skylights which offset the insurance deductible so my true out of pocked was nill.

My wife and I could not be more satisfied that we decided to have Legacy Construction & Roofing replace our wind damaged roof. The Project Coodinator, Jon Kitchen, and the entire team did an outstanding job. About the time I noticed some missing shingles on our roof, my wife saw Jon Kitchen when she was walking in the adjacent neighborhood. She told him about the missing shingles and he offered to stop by and replace them at no charge. While up on our roof he noticed additional damaged shingles and recommended we have the entire roof replaced. After contacting our insurance agent, who arranged for an adjuster to perform a roof inspection, Jon re-arranged his schedule so he could be up on the roof with him to ensure the adjuster noticed all of the damage. The adjuster found over 50 wind damaged shingles, so the insurance company approved having the roof replaced. We could not be more pleased that Jon was handling our project. Because of him everything happened like clockwork and came off without a problems. He was present during most of the replacement process to make sure everything is being done correctly. Jon is extremely courteous, honest, knowledgeable and works hard to make sure his customers are 100% satisfied. We are always able to get in touch with him at anytime and if busy he promptly follows up and returned all calls and texts. He basically took care of everything, all we had to do was pick out the color of shingles we wanted. Prior to removing the old roof the roofing crew took the time to safely cover all of our landscaping, deck and A/C units to protect them from damage. They checked the roof structure for damage, replacing 2 sections of water damaged sheathing and re-nailed all loose pieces. They spent 2 full days working from sunrise to after sunset to get the job done. Upon completion the crew walked around the entire perimeter of the house picking up all of the loose debris and nails. The day after completion Quality Assurance Manager, Chris Castillo, was up of the roof and walked around the house to make sure everything was installed correctly and the site was properly cleaned up. Later that afternoon, the crew foreman Ralph (I do not know his last name) walked around the permitter of the house with a magnetic pickup tool to ensure all of the loose nails were picked up. There are not enough stars to rate Jon Kitchen and the rest of the Legacy team on the job they performed. Legacy roofing was professional and prompt. They did a great job replacing the roof, they were professional and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. I would use them again and again.

They did a great job. Dan is very professional and was even willing to come out and diagnose a leak I had which was coming from the chimney cap. They weren’t responsible for that work, but they helped me get to the source of the problem.

The actual roof replacement was fine. However, it took over 4 months from the time I signed their agreement until they started work. My insurance company estimated a lower roof area than Legacy estimated. The resolution of this issue did not proceed in a timely manner. Legacy said my insurance company representatives were not responding to them. Finally, I e-mailed my insurance company and they responded immediately saying they had no record of Legacy calling them and gave me the case number and fax number for Legacy to use. From that point everything went well.

This was the second attempt to get insurance to pay and they helped get the approval. Very good job of the roof replacement.

The salesman was quick to respond. He offered us several solutions and guided our color decision. We picked a date for the work to be performed. The material was dropped the same day the workers came. They laid tarps as needed then removed the existing shingles and tar paper. The nailed down any plywood that had lifted and replaced a sheet where an attic fan was removed, as part of the installation included venting at the top. They then installed the new under sheeting and shingles. After completion, they cleaned the area up, including nails. They started and 9 am and had left by 6 pm. The neighbor across the street had them replace his roof and I was impressed by both the quality of work and time it took to complete the work. They did the same for me.and since have worked on other roofs in the community.

On February 26th, I came home to find a flyer from this company on my front door. I called the company that evening to clarify the no soliciting policy of our neighborhood. A voice system answered the phone so I left a message. I explained there is a No Soliciting sign at the front and back entrance of our subdivision. In case they didn't notice those, there is another one on my mailbox - at the foot of my driveway. I insisted they do not return to our street and leave trash at our door again. This afternoon (3/17) as I was leaving the house, I found another flyer on my door. If they company is this disrespectful to a simple request, why would I let them attempt a construction project.
