From the initial call to Mr. Kriz, we were impressed with his knowledge of landscaping and plant selection, his comprehension of our needs, pricing and his ability to provide an accurate schedule for performing the work. He did every task just as he described, creating a stacked stone wall around our rose bushes, defining our side yard where shrubbery had been mutilated by the builder. In the rear of our home, Mr. Kriz and his crew created a lovely transition from existing landscape into the 'back 40.' He selected plants that will provide color throughout the year. He was receptive to our ideas, but used his creativity to turn our pine straw into lovely garden areas--prettier than we had even imagined. We eagerly await the spring to see how much prettier our yard will be. There are vast improvements already and we liked our yard! Mr. Kris and his staff were outstanding in every way!

We were not pleased with the experience. First of all, the plants were way over priced. After the fact, we priced some plants of much better quality at local vendors, and they were half the price. Next, although he did clear the wooded area, he did not kill the undergrowth and within a few months the area was controlled by weeds and bamboo again. Next, his workers planted the shrubs in holes just barely big enough for the root bulb, and he did not break up the root bulb or add extra nutrient-rich soil. The end result was that within 6 months, half of the "high quality" expensive plants were dead because they couldn't root and the area was consumed by the original underbrush. Multiple calls and emails were made to get "warranty" work done, and over a year later he showed up claiming that he was busy with other projects in Raleigh. He replaced some of the dead shrubs, but he replaced them in the same manner (small holes and no extra soil). I have spent the better part of the last four months now fixing the area, re-planting the shrubs, pulling undergrowth roots out and basically finishing the project the way it should have been.After speaking to other residents in our neighborhood, we are not the only ones who feel dissatisfied. Bottom line is that this landscaper uses over-priced plants, his workers do poor work in planting these over-priced plants, and he's worked himself so thin that he can't back up promises to do warranty work.
