It went pretty well. In the middle of the renovation, found out they could not get granite we ordered. Worked with the granite supplier and they got us granite that was more expensive and they ate the cost difference. Was pleased with them overall.

Had a previous rating up on Angie's List. I took it down because of repeated emails and letters sent to my residence. I reported, what I felt was bulling, to Angie's List they said they do not tolerate this type of behavior. I went back over what I felt would be fair to rate them and this is the best I could do. We are happy with the appliances, we have had a couple of issues with our Thermador refrigerator and cooktop, had them repaired and are satisfied. Kitchen and Bath prices were fair, delivery was fair, and customer service was dismaying. Kitchen and Bath Galleries gave us incorrect verbal guidelines with our refrigerator installation and insinuated it was my builders fault, which it was not. I am sure they will post a rebuttal as they have on my previous review. I thought that Angie's List is for customers to openly rate THEIR experiences with a company. I will say they did give a more expensive floor model Subzero beverage center to replace the one that we purchased that was damaged which was appreciated. It was the overall handling of a misunderstanding that could have easily been handled with a simple; we are sorry for the difficulties you experienced during your remodel.
Description of Work: Delivered Thermador Appliances and one Subzero beverage center.

Response from Kitchen & Bath Galleries
As always, we take seriously any reviews that customers have reported on Kitchen & Bath Galleries. This customer told us that her builder had never installed a built-in refrigerator before and that she had also never owned one before. We provided the manufacturer's requirements for installation to the customer and her builder several different times. We also had three (3) different K & B appliance specialists explain the installation instructions. These 3 employees have over 20 years experience each as professionals selling thousands of built-in refrigerators. Customer service is what has given us a record number of appliance sales in 2013 and we can provide a countless number of excellent references for our work. We are saddened that unsubstantiated information can be posted against us in such an open format. Our company employees all adhere to our company policy of going beyond the call of duty to assist all customers. Stephen M. Vaughn, President, K & B Galleries, 919-389-9051

I worked with Sue for both counter top and Tile selection. She offered a fair price. Especially, when they removed old Tile, there is unexpected extra work needs to be done fix several holes in my kitchen wall. Because of it, they pathed holes, let the wall dry and installed the Tiles another day. After talking with Sue, she waived these extra cost for fixing my kitchen wall. Sue is courtesy and profession. She is patient and offers us multple selections and options. Both me and my wife are very happy with the new counter top. Next, we would remodle our bath rooms with this company again.

They recommended a sub-contractor that we hired and they did the job together. They gutted my kitchen and redid it and they gutted my daughter's bathroom and redid it with new tiles and new shower. They also finished off a guest room and guest bath. There was a young designer who had a lot of new ideas and had just a lot of enthusiasm. She really helped me pick out a beautiful kitchen; it's just gorgeous.

Everything was done very professionally, on time and on budget. We couldn't be happier. Absolutely no disappointments or concerns.
Description of Work: Entire kitchen was gutted and new cabinets and appliances installed. In addition, hardwood floor was repaired/refinished, recessed lighting was added, pantry was constructed where none existed, and window above the sink was enlarged and moved appx. 8 inches, improving the traffic flow and work area footprint.
Lisa Jones (our designer) was fantastic from start to finish. She came out and looked at the space and was actually excited by the potential (some other people who gave us quotes seemed overwhelmed or annoyed by the amount of work that would be involved). She then met with my husband and me in the showroom and gave us several options and explained ways we could save money while steering us away from "cheap" options that would lower the value of our new bathroom. With the overwhelming amount of materials out there for bath design, it was invaluable to have a designer steer us in the right direction and make sure everything would be coordinated and fit our personal style preferences. I was also impressed by how she worked with us on the new floorplan in a way that took all our needs/requests into consideration (e.g., don't move the toilet, keep existing pocket doors to bedroom). Lisa did a great job of managing the process to make sure we made selections on items in the order and at the times we needed to in order to avoid slowing down the project. She also really helped keep us from breaking the bank by finding beautiful, high-quality products on sale (like our gorgeous tub filler and our Grohe shower fixtures). And, she was available to answer our numerous questions throughout the process. I would highly recommend the North Raleigh K&B Galleries team to anyone. We are in love with our new master bath and didn't have to go through h*** to get it!
Description of Work: We worked with the North Raleigh Kitchen and Bath Galleries (in North Hills shopping center) to design a new master bath, including new floorplan, steam shower, freestanding tub, faucets, double sinks, vanity, heated tile floors, and lighting. K&B galleries offered design suggestions, put us in touch with a fantastic contractor for the demo and construction work (Funderburk Builders), designed the space, helped us pick out all the plumbing fixtures, tile, granite (for countertops), cabinets, and lighting. They also coordinated installation of the glass shower door, cabinets, and countertops (the only items the contractor did not install for us).

We were pleased with the original designer that initially helped us; unfortunately she left and the new designer was not as helpful and we really had to keep on top of things ourselves. The work itself turned out beautifully after a few "hiccups" which is pretty typical when having any remodeling done. The finished product is gorgeous and we receive tons of compliments on the materials and work. We would definitely use them again; just be aware to research/interview the designers first!

They were very, very helpful in guiding me. They worked with my budget. I felt that I was guided in a very helpful way. Kim Spaight was the person who worked with me and I thought she was wonderful. Since 2010 I went back to her for the second bathroom because I enjoyed working with her.
Description of Work: They did two little bathrooms for me. They replaced some countertops and I got really good suggestions on how to follow through with colors and hardware. The first was done in June of 2010. I had work done on the second bathroom just six months ago.

It was our first experience doing any type of remodeling and I want to go with a company that would handle the project E2E. I just wanted to select the items and write checks. Laura Ellis at K&B Galleries is a complete professional and did an excellent job listening to our requirements and coming up with a design that cleverly utilizes our space while staying in budget. The budget started and end on schedule with minimal issues along the way. The contractor who worked on the project Scott Frey did a great job and overall I'm very pleased with the end result. Yes. I do believe I paid a premium of the service but it was totally worth it.

We were ultimately unable to use the tub because of space/confinement issues. However, we never took delivery on it - it stayed in the store. We had to pay 400 to "restock it" to get the rest of our money back. So we paid 400 for a tub that never left the store.. Needless to say, this did not leave a good taste with us doing business with this company again. Their response was that they had already ordered another tub that was on the way, and would have to pay a restocking fee themselves. Possibly just unfortunate situation - they were nice enough about it..and they do have beautiful stuff, but we probably wouldn't do business with this store again. This was the North Hills location
Description of Work: Bought a bathtub floor model - it was a beautiful soaking tub, and a good price.

This bathtub floor model was purchased by the customer with an unconditional NO RETURN. In the spirit of customer service, we graciously took the tub back when the customer found that the size would not work even though we had already purchased its replacement - thus, the $400 restocking fee.

Rebecca visited my home to measure, then she came up with the drawings. The cabinet took a few weeks to come in, but I expected that, having fully renovated my kitchen in recent years. Rebecca sent me to Absolute Tile & Granite to pick out granite for the countertop, and my visit there was another story entirely. (I plan to review them separately; I did not have a good experience in their showroom.) Once the cabinet came in, Rebecca sent over a carpenter to install it, then the countertop was templates and installed a few days later. As I mentioned above, I sourced the tile work, plumbing, lighting, etc. on my own. Please note that I gave the price a "C," because the custom cabinet was very expensive (over $1,600). After signing the contract with KBG, I later found a carpenter who could have custom built something very nice for less than half the price. Ouch! The price factored in heavily for me, so although I gave KBG some "As," I can't give them an overall "A" because of what had to be a pretty hefty mark-up on the cabinet.
Description of Work: I contracted with Kitchen & Bath Galleries (KBG) to custom design a vanity for a very small bathroom. I had searched far and wide for a good quality vanity that would fit the space, but I finally gave up and decided to have it made to fit. Rebecca, one of KBG's designers, worked up a drawing (actually two, and I chose one) and coordinated the building of the cabinet, which was done by Kitchen Craft in Canada. Rebecca also arranged for installation of the cabinet, a granite countertop, under mount sink, and faucet. She was not involved in the tile work in the bathroom, and I hired my own plumber. Also, I selected and purchased lighting and hardware (towel bars, etc.) on my own.

Most local shop built cabinets are assembled using doors from a component manufacturer . They are typically spray gun painted In a very basic method and generally offer a one year warranty. Our vanities start at $300 in price. Our custom cabinet makers normally offer a clean room high tech finishing process with up to 16 individual processes. The guarantees are mostly limited lifetime warranty on workmanship and materials. There appears to be some mis understanding here. Stephen Vaughn, President, K&B Galleries. 919-389-9051

They are excellent. It was a floor model and they got it from their Raleigh store. They gave me good recommendations on places to get granite or quartz. They also gave me some knobs for refinishing a bathroom. It was a good experience.
Description of Work: I bought a wall oven from Kitchen & Bath Galleries and they sent an installer they work with to install it.
This was a perfect remodel story. No surprises, no delays, no increased costs. Who could ask for more? Desi and her team worked with me through every aspect, making suggestions and working with the granite supplier to reduce my cost by utilizing a remnant instead of purchasing an entire second slab of granite. Everything was perfect and well worth the price based on the personalized service I received.
Description of Work: I used the Cary location. Desi McAlister and her team were outstanding. She redesigned my small kitchen, increasing my overall storage space by at least 40%. She was very knowledgeable, and helped me select the perfect cabinets and design. Our kitchen was completely gutted, a window relocated, new cabinets installed along with granite countertops and tile backsplash. A new pantry was also added.

When I first began the project, I went to this company based on a recommendation. I had never done a project like this before so I was very apprehensive. The associate that helped me was excellent. She was patient and guided me to what she thought would work. She was right and I was very pleased with the finished product. They were on time, did an excellent job of installing and cleaning up. My only complaint would be the price. Based on their work and helpfulness, I would definitely recommend them. However, for my other bathroom, I will make comparisons and if they are in the same price range, I will go back with Kitchen and Bath Galleries.
Description of Work: The project included a new cultured marble counter top 31" x 22" with an undermount bowl and installation. The customer was responsible for removing the old materials, the plumbing, and preparing for the new.

My main contact was the designer with the showroom. She was wonderful, easy to work with, extra sweet, immediately handles any issues that day, and she had instantaneous responses. I found them very knowledgeable and helpful. If there was anything that they did wrong then they were very fast to fix it. They were very courteous, polite, they did a good job, but some small attention to details were not looked at. They did have to come back to fix it. One thing that happened that wasn't their ability to see, so it wasn't really their fault. When they installed the gas range, I switched from electric to a hybrid. When they checked the gas lines to make sure there wasn't a gas leak. They didn't know that pulling on that line, pulled loose a cuffing underneath the house so my house filled with gas. The bad thing was that I didn't realize what was happening, so it filled up for 3 days. The good thing was that I didn't turn on that gas stove. Again, that was beyond them for knowing, they checked the line up top and they didn't know to check it underneath the house. It was just a freak accident. They instantly came over, within an hour to quickly take care of the problem. I called them and they left whatever job they were doing to fix it, which I appreciated greatly. The guys weren't very careful when they installed one of the counter tops in making sure that it had a leveled straight line for putting the granites back on the counter top, so it was at a slight angle. It was off by about a quarter of an inch, this happens all the time. So they have to come back to do that. The tile guys did a great job, it looks fabulous. Although, they didn't make sure to screw back the electrical receptors after they installed the tile so that it was flushed with the tile, so I have to go back to do that. It's just the little attention to details that would be nice and save me time. They were incredibly helpful, very responsive, and I love the outcome. The outcome looks fabulous, it just looks gorgeous down there, the kitchen looks wonderful. The contractor dropped the ball on one particular price estimate and it was 1,500 dollars off, but that's the only thing. I don't know exactly how their price compares to anywhere else, it's not the cheapest thing. Although, you do what you paid for. Although they never really gave me specific times that they were going to be here. They were very responsive, especially with the gas leak. They were incredible helpful, he stayed after to help me move around some of the plates. He took his time to help me out with my fire place, he didn't need to do that but he graciously helped me with it.
Description of Work: They did our kitchen and I bought all of the appliances from them.
