Kirk Imports Furniture

When we purchased the desk from Kirk Imports, we described the stairway in our home and emphasized that it would have to be disassembled in order to go up the stairs. Both the saleswoman and the owner understood this and assured us that it would be disassembled before delivery. When they showed up to deliver it the desk was not taken apart. They claimed that they couldn't take it apart. One of the delivery men was very rude. After they left we called the manufacturer and in 30 seconds had assembly instructions emailed to us. I called the owner, Katherine, and told her all of this, and she was very unconcerned. I told her that they only needed a screwdriver and an allen wrench to take it apart, and she replied that she didn't know if they had "all that equipment" on the truck. She said she would call the driver and call me back. I didn't receive a call back, but a few hours later the delivery truck showed up again and they had managed to figure out how to take it apart even though Katherine hadn't told them anything about the instructions we received. The one delivery guy was again very rude. We will never shop at Kirk Imports again.

Purchased a bedroom set in the middle of April, 2009. We were quoted that it would be 4-6 weeks for delivery. It is now the very end of June and we have just now received a phone call that the furniture has arrived. This is only after weeks (up to a month) of consistently calling and asking where it is, with no success they kept saying that they would check in on it, call us back to let us know, we never received phone calls. Now that the furniture has arrived (which we are speculating that it was never ordered in April) we are now dealing with their run around of delivering it on their terms. We are very frustrated and feel this is a case of "passing the buck" on part of their customer service. We were looking forward to supporting a family owned, local business rather than big corporation however we are getting burned on this, we are tired of sleeping on the floor.
