Do your homework on roofing. Call Roofer Assoc ([*** Link removed ***] questions and use You Tube. Jon's Radical roofing was THE ONLY company that passed my tests. I used two things to do initial scfeening: 1) Do they have their workers on their own payroll or are they subcontracted out. This is critical per NRCA. Jon's RRemploys their own crew. This allows for quality control. Most "roofers" you sit with are actually only brokers and they have nothing to do with workmanship. You are a sitting duck. They will lie about employee status. 6/7 lied to me! 2) If you have a roof that abutts a wall, they MUST remove siding to install flashing. Anyone who tells you different is lying through their teeth. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. RUN! Jon's removes the siding. No questions asked. They were the ONLY company who wanted to do it correctly. They also use 5-6 naols per shingle. Everyone else uses 4, below industry standard. No more rm. CAll Jon's RR! 2) Step Flashing test
Description of Work: complete roof replacement. They used hot dipped galv, ring shank nails, nail caps, good quality caulk, upgraded underlayment and ice/water barrier, 6 nails/shingle, correct application of all flashing and drip edge (some idiots will skimp on this), upgraded vet boots, metal box flashing, PERFECT alignment of all shingles. They include you in ALL decisions. None of the others even told me about underlayments much less gave me options!! Underlayments are just as impt as shingles!!!!! Quote was 2pg long. Others were 1/4 page. I reviewed and confirmed all materials when arrived (no skimping) and got pics of the progress as it occurred. No one came close to this company on ANY level whe I interviewed them and believe me, I am a stickler. My neighbor installed his roof on his vacation home. He's a builder. He watched mine take place and he said they did an amazing job. He is using them for his own roof in Raleigh. CALL THEM!

It went great! They did a great, great job. They were polite and punctual. Gemma, the owner, is definitely a people pleaser. She couldn't do enough for us. Also, she replaced some rotted wood on the side of the house. You won't be sorry if you hire her to do the job.

Owner-manager Gemma and roofer Alex arrived several minutes early. Via ladder and 2-step stool atop the shed on my deck, we all went up on my roof (only a 5 by 12 pitch) and surveyed the damage. Back down, she thoroughly went over what would be done, wrote everything up, and I agreed to the price (somewhat more than I'd expected, but I was so favorably impressed by the detailed explanations and high-quality materials, I didn't wait for another estimate, plus rain was predicted for that evening!). As he worked, Alex took pictures of the damaged board after the section of shingles was removed, then the metallic plate added to protect the damaged area, then the seal over that, and finally the new shingles in place, sending them down to Gemma's phone. We then all went back onto the roof to inspect the finished work. It was a pleasure dealing with them both.
Description of Work: Part of a large limb that broke off a maple tree hit the roof and punctured shingles and the 1x8 board beneath.
