Jacks Appliance Repair Services

I called Jack's Appliance 18 months ago when my dryer stopped heating. He came the same day and replaced the heating element. I was thrilled with the responsiveness and quality of work. When the dryer started making a loud screeching noise, I felt confident contacting Jack's Appliance again. Jack came the next day with his friend. They took the dryer apart and lubricated some bearings (at least that is what he told me) and charged me for a service call. Several days later, the screeching noise returned and became even louder. I contacted Jack and asked if there was a guarantee on his work. He told me he would order a part and would return. He claimed that he had replaced a "wheel" the first time and told me he might need to order another part if the noise returned. He never mentioned replacing a "wheel" or the possibility of needing to order another part and return. He suggested that I give him a second chance and promised to order the part and return. That was on 10/30/15, and I never heard another word. I contacted another repair person and had a pulley replaced which solved the problem. I will steer clear of Jack's Appliance in the future!

Jack came over about a year and a half ago to repair my refrigerator. It was getting warm and I was afraid of losing hundreds of dollars of food. I called him and he was over in an hour. It took him about 10 minutes to figure out what the problem was. He had the part with him and had it fixed in less than an hour for $80. I called six months later when my dryer quit. Again, he had the part on his truck, fixed the dryer and he was in and out in an hour for ~$70. This time I called him on a Saturday at about 5:30 pm. He showed up at 8 pm that day and fixed my washer agitator and knob/switch I'd been having trouble with (I had to wiggle it to get the washer to start). The washer and dryer are Whirlpool and less than 4 years old. The fridge is a Kenmore and about 5-6 years old. I'm glad we kept them out of the landfill and that we don't have to deal with the expense and hassle of replacing them. I could fit all of the parts that he replaced on all three appliances in one hand. I wonder how many appliances end up in the landfill this way. Jack speaks broken English and can be difficult to understand on the phone but that has improved over the past year and a half. I just called him up and he asked me to text him the address and said he'd be over. I also texted him my phone # and the problem ("broken washer"). He called about 30 mins in advance to let me know he was on his way. He is extremely efficient, polite, neat and easy to communicate with in person. Jack impressed the heck out of me all three times and I highly recommend him.
