Description of Work: We signed up in February 2016 and during our required HVAC CHECKUP in April 2016 by their service techIgnition switch was cracked and needed to be replaced. Notified High Tech in April 2016 of problem again in May 2016. They wanted to wait until it completely quit working. Oklahoma Winters can be brutal and we did not want to be without heat. We sent the estimates for repair and willing to accept the lowest price repair. I talked with someone in their office in May 2016 and was told someone would contact me. That was a year ago and haven't heard from them. It seems like they only have two people in their office and a answering service. Very unproffesional. Should we have a breakdown we feel like they would be very difficult to contact and be without heat or A/C for an unspecified amount of time.

Angie's List.... KINDLY REMOVE THIS REVIEW AS IT IS INACCURATE!!! SEE BELOW FAX FROM CLIENT WHICH STATES THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT THE REVIEW STATES. We are sorry it took so long to respond to this review, but we had to research to find the fax that was sent to us regarding this issue. This is a fax directly from the review writer, which is different from the review that was written in May. Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] called a company out for a carbon monoxide alarm, not a required inspection as stated nor was it our technician or one that we recommended that went out. In paragraph 4 the client states that they opted to wait until it quit. "WE" High Tech Home Warranties had no input regarding that decision. In January 2017 when the policy was up for renewal, the client made no mention of this nor did they file a claim for the HVAC system during the policy term and then waited 4 months after their policy expired to write the review. From: [Member Name Removed] [Member Information Removed] Drive Oklahoma City, OK [Member Information Removed] On December 17th,2015 we had Excel Mechanical Plumbing Heating & Air come to our home to Inspect our HVAC system because our Carbon Monoxlde detector was sounding an alarm. The technician thoroughly examined our unit and did not find any Carbon Monoxide fumes and no leakage at this time. However he did find fault with the ignition system. {Cracked} He advised the ignition system could fail to work at any time" He gave me an estimate to repair. The cost ranged from $807 for Platinum Service to $673 for Gold Service, $538 for Silver Service, $404 Bronze Service to BAND-AID at $269.00. We discussed the repair and I opted to wait until unit quit. I'm not sure if this is the wise thing to do as it could cause damage to other parts of the unit and may be more costly. It seems to be working fine at this time but it could go out tonight. We signed a contract with Excel for 2 visits per year; once in the Fall for the heater and once in the Spring for A/C. Copies of the agreement are included in this fax. Please give me your input to whether we should pursue the repair at this time or wait until it fails. I hope it doesn't go out before Spring as it has been really cold here this Winter, Thanks for your help. [Member Name Removed]

This review is very conflicting, but we wanted to give a response. You gave us an F rating, but also checked that you would hire again!? We have an A+ rating with the BBB and no profile at all on RipOffReport.com Mr. [Member Name Removed], your calls were answered. They may have been answered by our call center, but they WERE answered! We don't like for our clients to hold on the line waiting for a representative to be available so we have our calls bounce to a call center when all lines are busy to ensure all calls are answered. The calls are then dispatched to several different departments to ensure customer satisfaction. All of your calls have been responded to and we have tried our very best to help you in any way we can. You actually spoke to me on 8/22/16 about changing your address so when your policy came up for renewal we had that info. On 8/22/16 your address was updated on your record. On 9/1/16 your brother called in and at which time he stated he needed to file a claim resulting from a storm. I called and left your brother a detailed message that we don't cover storm damage and also advised him that your policy had not been renewed. On 9/6/16, you called in and left your message with our call center, our Claims Mgr Keith called you back within 20 minutes and he spoke to you in detail about why your policy had lapsed. Since we don't keep card information on file, he asked me to call you so we could enter your credit card information to post payment to your account. The F rating doesn't make sense. Why would you renew your policy if you thought we wouldn't be there when you needed us? Your policy had lapsed for non-payment and then you write this review on the day you reinstated your policy. We really appreciate your business, but do not understand this review. Theresa Meroney Accounts Manager

Description of Work: I have been with the company for over a year, and have had furnace, water heater, and garbage disposal work done under warranty. The head office/website is great to work with for claims, and Keith is great to work with. |There have been problems, though, as many of the local contractors do not like working with warranty companies, so I have had problems with the contractors (no shows after talking to myself and/or Keith) and not the warranty company. |The contractors who have come to do the work always comment on the professionalism and prompt payment by the company, and that I should keep their info should I need more warranty work. I've actually worked with some great contractors, too - the ones who have come out have done high quality work, and answered all my questions about the repair and requirements for proper maintenance.

First of all, we would like to thank you for signing up with our company! I'm not sure when you wrote this review, but there is a part left out of the review that was not mentioned. I spoke with you on the phone and you expressed to me that you were waiting to hear from someone. I then apologized for any mix up with getting you signed up. After that, I sent a message to customer service telling them to roll your start date back from the day you called in so your 30 day grace period would start then. On August 4, 2015 we resent you the invoice at which time you paid. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we look forward to serving you in the future! Keith Fennell

On July 25th I contacted my now former warranty company, american residential warranty for service with plumbing issues. A plumber was sent and services were not rendered properly nor was my water issues completed. I then contacted residential again on 7/28 again to try to get my on going plumbing problem corrected. Told by american residential warranty that a plumber would not be available until NEXT Tuesday 8/6. Now I have water raining down in my basement and flowing in my kitchen any time water is used in my main bathroom "really" next Tuesday. Which should also explain why residential warranty is my former warranty company, terrible customer service. After then cancelling my contract with american residential, I contacted the next plumber which was solo flex enterprises, which actually turns out to be not only the handy man from h***; but no proper plumbing skills and no licence. He wanted to charge me $200 for placing a 12x12 hole in my kitchen wall after spending two days in my home with no results and continued water issues. solo flex also continued to change return time the second day from 9am to 11am then finally possibly 1pm. So I made contact with High Tech Warranty. First, I have received excellent customer service. I explained about the terrible service from residential warranty and the handy man from h***, SoloFlex. High Tech step up immediately, contacedt Fottlani Plumbers. Fottlani Plumber-Olu arrived at noon the same day 8/3, located my issue within 20 minutes, capped the area and the problem was solved. HighTech followed up after the service call was completed to ensure I was a satisfied customer. I am with both HighTech and Fottlani Plumbers. I would recommend High Tech warranty as your company of choice for home service needs, as well as for fast, timely and efficient service.

My 2 AM phone call was promptly received and the friendly agent explained that the extra coverage was already in my basic contract. His honesty was refreshing.
Description of Work: After being ripped off by American Home Shield, Choice Home Warranty, and First American, I went to Angie's List for my next home warranty company and High Tech Warranties seemed to be the best choice based on breadth of coverage and user ratings. The sign-up process on their web site was painless and I was comforted by their using Angie's List as a reference and their acceptance of PayPal as a form of payment. Without having yet to talk to a human, I received my invoice and receipt, which I thought was very efficient. I did notice a discrepancy in that I was quoted and billed for extra coverage, but my receipt did not show it.

Called to speak with sales to consider having my home covered. I am a RE broker in ATL and get a different/new home warranty (HW) contract for my personal residence every year. This gives me experiences with a variety of HWs and allows me to be more knowledgeable about the services offered in my area. The representative I spoke with at HTHW said that they do not cover the high end appliance brands (Subzero, Wolf, Viking, Jennair, etc) that I own.

Response from High Tech Home Warranties
Thanks for the review , I guess it goes both ways about time being wasted. You stayed on our site 36 min before calling ,only to find out the same thing that was located on our site. We have a much different program here at High Tech Home Warranties! After calling in you didn't speak about having high end appliances. I would have told you that we do not cover sub zero refrigerators along with certain kind of appliances right from the beginning! Some of those appliances that you named sometimes parts are not always available from the manufacture. Once again my time is being wasted to respond to such nonsense. Other home warranty companies have failed you to still be looking for a home warranty company as a Real Estate Pro. To whom it may concern we offer a plan that no other company in the United States offer. The High Tech Plan which covers the Roof, Windows, Siding, Crawl Space Doors, Flood Lights, Shutters, Handrails, Washer/Dryer, Second Appliance, Septic System, Heating/AC, Water Heater, Plumbing System , Plumbing Stops, Electrical System, Refrigerator, Garbage Disposal, Built-in Microwave, Range/Oven or Cooktop, Ductwork, Ceiling Fans, and Garage Door Openers.. We have no competition with this plan!

I recently made purchases of all new appliances and wanted to find out more about HTH service plans. Initially I had contacted this company in regards to their home warranty service plan which I concluded as being very competive with similar plans after listening to the rep and visiting the website. The representative was very professional and knowledgeable about the plan and referred me to the website for additional information if needed after our call. Prior to ending the call, I scheduled an appointment to have my home inspected two weeks later. The rep arrived a few minutes late but immediately explained the reason for doing so (traffic related). After the inspecition, I made the decision to delay the purchase of the home warranty (since I have all new appliances). My decision was a result of the HTH rep advice upon inspection and my own. Although, I do plan to re-visit the website again before year end. Surprisingly - in addition to my questions about the home warranty, the rep also provided information and feedback on some minor home projects I had in progress and offered great advice and provided info for a general contractor in my area in which I contacted the same day. The general contractor was available the same day of my inspection and the HTH rep remained in the area to double back and supervise the job. The project was completed the same day and turned out great! In addition to the home warranty services the HTH rep informed me that they have a network of contractors who services homes on their behalf as it relates to claims. I was so happy with the work that I'm scheduling another home project in the coming months.
Description of Work: Provided knowledgeable information about its service plan and advice / references for a home project. Conversation on the phone and in-person was always professional and informative.

Very disappointing. I signed up with this company with high hopes but unfortunately everything that breaks they say they don't cover. They also argue over things they do cover. Service is really really bad.
Description of Work: broken overn - they sent guy who said it was the electrical panel. HiTech refused to cover it (told me to contact a lawyer) air conditioner - they tried to claim it was not maintained correctly, even though i've had a maintenance plan for 20 years garage door opener - they said the broken piece was not covered fridge - no, they didn't cover the make of fridge that i had.

(member name removed) the information you posted is far from the truth. I will expand on all of our dealings. You signed up and your coverage took affect November 2012. Shortly after you signed up you made 2 claims at the same time which was not a problem. Because you made 2 claims at onetime it prompted me to inspect your home for a visual inspection. The claims were for electrical outlets and the other for your refrigerator. When I arrived at your home, the electrician fixed the electrical problem. Shortly after the electrical repair was completed the appliance repairman arrived. I went back inside to see what was wrong with the refrigerator, when he pulled the cover off your coil was so dirty it had not been cleaned in years. You stated that you have had service plan for 20 years maybe a home warranty. A maintenance plan and a home warranty are 2 different things. As the claims manager I'm not saying this based on a report but with my own eyes on what I saw! I tried to show you house keeper /maid she did not understand English very well. I then called you on your house phone to let you know that your refrigerator was in bad shape and the coil hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I told you that we don't cover sub zero refrigerators. I didn't write the terms nor did you read them. It states that we do not cover any unit with 2 compressors . This unit was 20-25 years old. Since we didn't cover your refrigerator I told you not to worry about the service call fee of 50.00 and put that toward your repair on the refrigerator! We paid the electrician for his service call fee and his actual repair on the outlets. total cost 100.00. I went all over your house with your maid/ house keeper. You had another kitchen area in the basement that upon signing up you did not mention. I went outside to inspect because the plan you had with us covers the interior and exterior. I found another problem that was a pre- existing condition. I then called you from my cell phone this time standing in your yard looking at your roof and gutters. I explained to you that the roof had loose and missing shingles in your valley that could cause leaks. Your gutters were also full that can cause rot to the facial boards. Which would make your gutters sage and fall down over time. Inside the gutter it holds the grit that rolls of the roof over time then the leaves, branches and water from being clogged up will cause that. Those items were covered in your plan. You told me you would get somebody to fix it. The next problem you have shortly after was your stove. I sent a repairman out he said that the self clearing had cause that to happen. You told me that you used self cleaning more then they recommended. I asked you had you been sold on the self cleaning stove because a lawyer has a class action lawsuit on whirlpool. I was informing you of the information to just show you that the equipment you brought less then 4 years ago was bad. You are not the only with this problem they just decided to do something about it. We don't cover any manufactures defects. We offered you a cash settlement on your stove you agreed. We did that in good faith 300.00 Next claim your AC not blowing cold. As a client when you signed up with us in the winter time in Maryland where it gets pretty cold. From Nov to April you cut your AC on then you said it wasn't blowing cold. You have never been in AC season with our company cause you signed up with our company we suppose inherit the already broken AC when you signed up. I spoke with the lady from your AC company they said when they came out in sept it was fine and it could of happen after they left cause it was still hot. In my opinion you may have not been aware of it and maybe you could have. If anyone reading this how would you look at it. You signed up with our company when you wasn't using your AC. In Nov 2012 winter time in Maryland Then in April 2013 you cut your unit on and say its not working . Then when maintenance is being performed you stop your service crew from doing further test. They told you one thing and the first thing you say is let me call the warranty company. That was why they were there for your yearly service. As soon as he puts the gage on it and says it's low you stop them only to call the warranty company. A yearly service is for them to check freon pressure among other things needed done to have the unit run good. I called them and they said you stopped them and you said that you wasn't home but you stopped them to call us. As the weather turned cold trying to sort that out. You make another claim on the garage door opener. Sent a repair guy out to fix the opener it's not the opener it's the door. The door is not covered. I explained to you that we just cover the garage door opener you said it was , and it was not it was the door. Instead of turning you down I authorized our claims department to pay half on the repair. As a matter of fact he just charged our card yesterday. May 10, 2013. We will have spent $500.00 of our company money on claims that were pre-existing and one one of those claims was on a item that was not even covered under our plan. We Do not Cover Garage doors anytime. People back into them with cars, fall into them, driveways hold water and overtime rot or rust the door. So there is no mistake about garage doors being covered. It says in our terms. You stated that you had hi hopes for us. I was fair with you and have been there for every email. How can we argue and we never spoke on the phone beside that one time when I was at your home telling you about the problems that I saw. So that in in correct. You also stated that you were disappointed in us, I feel the same way about you. I have never left you days without someone coming to your home, It's the type of claims you have made. I have been a contractor for almost 20 years it would not be in the best interest to damage our relationship over a home warranty. When you as a homeowner have other things that will need to be worked on such as pressure washing, painting, kitchen and bathroom renovations that will be needed in the future. Today I respond to your review there are 2 sides to every story and if you want to tell a story then tell it all. We helped you in many ways! You seem to forget that I have been catering to you every since you made your first claim. I have giving you my personal attention and today once again responding to your review requires my personal attention. I don't mind cause you left out a whole lot in your review. Did you not think I would respond? I would like to thank Angie's list for allowing me to respond to you. If you have any further questions you know my email address and I will respond to you. They have been quick to respond to emails and calls even after hours. I was very impressed when the president of the company called me to apologize for a 30-minute delay. They are a bit more expensive due to additional services offered, but the pricing is still competitive. Service rep promised to have a tech come.in same day, saame as promises from previous warranted company that we had contracted a few years ago. The difference with High Te h is that it delivers on its promises and.commitments. Just a few hours later, a techncian called for confirmation of address being.arriving.g.just a few minutes later. Tech performed initial checks, had part on hand, replaced, completed final checks and ensured descending was cooling properly. To add to sense of great customer service, tech recorded all unit data to keep on his database for future reference and parts, provided contact information and gave me assurance that he could be contacted directly if the unit had any more.problems. Trust is a commodity in the customer service industry, High Tech and it's subcontractors continue to exceed my expectations and have my undivided trust.
Description of Work: They are my home warranty service. I requested coverage for a second appliance, a refrigerator kept in our garage. Unit stopped cooling Friday night, I checked for lack of ventillation or frozen ducts. Called High Tech's call center around noon, received call back within 10.minutes, and after a very brief discussion of possible causes. Rep promissde to have a tech same day.
