+ -1 morejay's work was well done with a few exceptions. There were a couple cracked tiles he actually installed and had to come back and replace. He also quoted one price - but changed the price upon completion of work. Would not use Hampton again.

+ -1 moreHe did a beautiful, beautiful job! He was amazingly efficient. He (and his assistant) did this all perfectly and in four days (The other people had taken four weeks), and he kept our house clean (another great change). He sloped the shower floor perfectly for drainage, built a beautiful sill (lower and wider to make entry and exit easier - and just beautiful!) and did the shower floor and bathroom floor in a much more visually pleasing layout. He is a true artist and craftsman, the very best.
Description of Work: Jay saved us. We had had someone else (Greenbuilt Construction) install new porcelain tile in our very large custom shower and on the bathroom floor, and they had used mastic, which should not be used with in wet areas or with porcelain tile. It should never, ever be used in a shower floor. The thick goopy mastic had pushed up the grout in the shower floor and run out onto the shower floor and had also shifted under the bathroom floor (since it could never dry though the dense, non-porous tile), making the floor unlevel. Jay removed the shower tile and mortar underneath (which had also been installed improperly) and installed new mortar & tile for the shower floor. Since the bathroom floor tile would not come up, Jay leveled it and put down a base and new tile there. We provided the tile. Jay provided everything else (mortar, thinset, grout, beautiful square drain & marble threshold, etc)

(He has installed kitchen back splash tile for us in the past.) He's extremely responsive and was willing to work around my schedule. If asked, he'll make very helpful suggestions on things like grout color and layout. The work was well done.
Description of Work: Removed old vinyl floor and replaced with ceramic tile in bathroom.
