Gutter Glove of North Carolina LLC

There are numerous "Gutter Guys" and I see others at the Home Shows. GGNC is always at the Home Shows, I stop and talk and see that they take the time to answer questions and don't push like the other "Tin Men" Gutter Guard companies do. So... The two men arrived on time, pulled out ladders and patiently listened as I walked them through what I wanted done. I was concerned about smoking, frankly, because I don't allow it on my property. Both men assured me that neither was a smoker. I liked that! I brought out some paint and they touched up everywhere they ran wires. I wanted some wires in a pipe that were running underground and just like that (snap!) one guy jumped in the company van and ran up to Home Depot and picked up several lengths of PVC pipe for me. They did not stop for a lunch break when it hit Noon. They said they had another customer to be to at 2 PM, so they worked straight through and I hope they were able to grab a bite after they left because they worked non stop right up until 1PM. That impressed me also. They were very polite. No bad language, something else I don't allow on my property. Very nice young men, and I am 100% satisfied. I would recommend them 100%. Gutter Glove of North Carolina and GGNC are the BEST! And you can tell anyone I SAID SO!

They could do their work right the first time. They were pretty responsive.

Ricky and Gutter Glove were wonderful. Ricky had coordinated with me over the phone and come by previously to help determine the estimate. When they began the repairs, Ricky was discovered that he would be able to repair rather than replace the gutter. We were already set for the replacement--piece was on the truck--but Ricky was very helpful in finding a better way. We were ready with the checkbook to pay more for what we had agreed on. They could have easily made more money on the deal. I take this as a sign of a conscientious approach with the long term rather than the quick buck in mind. And the work backed that up. Would use the again in a heartbeat. Very pleased.

Downspouts were installed incorrectly with no dropouts - just larger holes cut in the gutter and screwed to the gutter. There were holes which sunlight could be seen through - so of course water would be dropping through as well directly from the gutter instead of down the downspout. GG-NC/Ricky Stroup's guys had to return later the day of install to remedy that though he would not admit that this installation was incorrect. Then, the endcaps they installed were leaking. I had those replaced by them because a couple were leaking. When they got done, most of them leaked - one was literally streaming. They came back 7/9 to fix those and an overshooting issue on one end of the house, and to fix an elbow at the bottom of one of the downspouts that was installed literally backwards ie: the downspout was outside the elbow at bottom rather than the being inserted inside the elbow so of course water came out the downspout rather than out the bottom elbow into the splashblock. Oh boy. I haven't been able to evaluate the overshoot problem during a heavy rain yet to see if that's fixed but a couple of the end caps at the back of the house STILL leaking I sent R. Stroup email about that on 7/19 and have yet to receive a response. Overall, overpriced (at least the downspouts, which cost $900+, where other contractors charged much less - $400-500 for the same 6 downspouts) and very careless work. Worse, once they got my money (I settled the bill with them on 07/03 after their return to fix the downspout install issues), their responsiveness has become bad to non-existent, though their contract says they guarantee their downspout/gutter work for 1 year after install. I feel I should have had them install the gutter guards and left the rest to some other contractor. It's been pretty much a mess, IMO. Wouldn't use them again though may have to if/when my roof is replaced if the roofer doesn't remove/replace the gutter guards.

What a wonderful experience! We secured estimates from several companies before moving forward with Gutter Glove. Unlike other companies that we spoke with, Gutter Glove was not all about the hard sell. Ricky was extremely professional, knowledgeable and provided estimates for different products that would meet our needs and our budget. The work was scheduled the day that we signed the contact and completed the following afternoon. I suspect that we got lucky with the timing! The crew was polite, efficient and kept the area neat - very important given that there are a lot of children in our neighborhood. Ricky stopped by to check in on the work. He also went above and beyond in talking through some potential solutions for installing a shed in our backyard. We will see how the work holds up in the rain, but as of right now, I would highly recommend Gutter Glove!

They responded quickly to our request for an estimate. Did not try to steer me toward the most expensive option. I thought they would be expensive and they weren't cheap but I thought the bottom line was reasonable for a very good product. The gutter gloves were installed in less than a week from when I accepted the estimate.

I had a very good experience with them. It was pretty expensive. As a matter of fact, it was more than some other competitors quoted but they came to my house and explained what they did and what their product was. They showed me examples of their product. And so I had a pretty high confidence that they were the best quality organization. And I got quotes from three other companies and frankly I think they are probably the highest but they came and did the job as they said they would. I have been pleased with the performance of their product. I was just totally satisfied with the deal. As I have said, they were the most expensive from the three people I got quotes from but all in all it was worth the extra money.

As before, Tony was prompt and professional. The whole job probably took 2-3 hrs with set up and cleanup.

Our house has LOTS of gutters. Gutter Glove's cost was about half that of another company's bid. The product itself is very high quality. After almost 7 years, there's no evidence of deterioration. The installation is very secure - even the squirrels have not succeeded in damaging it! The guys who did the work showed up when they said they would, were professional and answered all questions we had while they were working. They had what I think was a pretty complicated job working around trees without damaging anything and working at multiple levels on the 2-story house. The product (the gutter guards they installed) performance is excellent and resolved many issues we were having with gutters and downspouts becoming clogged and with water running off the roof onto parts of the house and deck. We were and still are very pleased with our decision to purchase the Gutter Glove guards and installation. In 2012 we discovered that water was leaking from the corners of some of the gutters and had rotted some of the wood behind the gutters. The fundamental problem was the gutter sloped uphill so that water did not fully drain from them. The sitting water eventually leaked through the sealant on gutter corner pieces. Gutter Glove did not install the gutters, they installed guards on the gutters several years after the gutters were originally installed. Because we had a very favorable experience with Gutter Glove when they installed the guards in 2007, we called them to see if they could help us solve this problem. They did a good job removing and re-installing the gutters so water could flow downhill and drain properly out of the gutters. They also replaced the rotted wood with more durable material. But it was a tricky problem with many pieces, corners, joints, and slopes. Some leakage reoccurred, and Gutter Glove was responsive in again working to resolve the problem. This time they actually replaced the old gutter parts with new ones. This solved the problem. And they did all the rework and provided new material with no increase in cost. Initially, they showed up when they said the would. However, they were less responsive in doing some of the re-work and we had to make repeated calls to get them on site. That said, they did the work they said they would do and more, and they did it at the price they initially quoted. We are quite pleased with their work, their perseverance in solving a difficult problem, and the effectiveness of their repair.

They are performing as advertised. I no longer need to spend time cleaning my gutters. They work flawlessly.

My first contact with this company was with their sales representative David. I made the initial phone call to set up an appointment for David to come over to give me an estimate. He came over on time, took his measurements and then proceeded to explain exactly what Gutter Glove was along the different options that they offered. He was very knowledgable and showed me examples of all their offerings. After answering all my questions I decided on the product to have installed. We set up a date and time and he went on his way. On the day of the installation the two man crew arrived on time. They explained exactly what they were going to do and how long it would take. They proceeded with the installation in a very methodical manner and finished on time. They cleaned up after themselves and when they left all was well. I live with many pine trees around the house and have had a problem with the pine straw build up. Since the installation three months ago I've had absolutely no worries about pine straw buildup. I can visually see the difference between the buildup on neighboring roofs and no build up at all on my roof. I would highly recommend this product particularly with pine straw concerns. It works!

Did a real nice, quick job. Quality of installation was excellent, everything was installed where it should be and neatly done with no significant gaps in coverage. Was impressed with the professionalism of the crew, they did a quick but careful job, and a good cleanup afterwards. As a follow-up ... the covers have remained solidly in place now 6 months later, despite several high wind incidents (one was 85mph) and close calls with tornados. The product functions very well, it really does keep leaves, twigs, and crud out of the gutters. I wish I'd had these installed years ago, could've saved hundreds in gutter cleaning money.

Everything went great! It is a great product and I anticipate that I will never have to climb up on my roof again to clean gutters. They put in the extra effort to be sure I was satisfied. I had a satellite cable running in my gutters that I could not get to for repairs once the gutter glove was installed. They came back and removed the cable from the gutters for me so I could run the cable under my deck so I could get to it for repairs. It was a lot of extra work for them but they wanted to be sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend this company.

Sales person made a thorough presentation that included price options, material options, and all aspects of their offering. The installation was done via appointment at a time convenient, in about 4 hours. The installers we professional and through. The clean up at the conclusion of the job was excellent. Follow up by the owner of the business was timely and reassuring that they would return and correct and deficiency that showed up. I am totally satisfied with this firm, and I am convenienced that they have the state of the art product.

The sales man [David Deese] was extremely good at seeing issues with the original gutter configuration on our 9-year old home. He made detailed drawings of the places that need some help in routing waterflow for the installation crew. Tony arrived at 8 AM today, and the crew were finished with the entire clean-up and installation by noon. They were good about explaining why certain features were important to routing the water and what I should do to maintain the covers. All in all, an very professional bunch, from the owner Rick on though the crew. And I had dealt with several other providers in the process of selecting Gutter glove.

Gutter Glove was very careful to schedule the work when rain was not in the forecast as we would have interior walls exposed. They removed all the wall materials down to the studs and salvaged all but a couple of Hardiplank boards. They allowed us a couple days to bleach and dry out the studs. They added missing fire-caulk to the fireplace and wire holes in the floor. They replaced the blackboard with a better material within code. They put back the Hardiplank siding, replacing a couple short boards and caulked all the cracks. They also added a piece of flashing above the vent pipe frame to prevent water from getting in above it of their own accord. They replaced wood trim with PVC at our request and put on a new roof with all new materials. All surfaces were painted with 25 year paint and exact color match. As as added bonus they added black flexible hoses to ends of the gutters on this part of the house to keep water away from the foundation, just because they were concerned about moisture in the crawl space as being a contributor. The day we bleached the wood, the smell coming thru the vent changed from mildew to a bleached wood smell and the stairway landings had a faint smell of bleach as well. The mildew smell was completely gone by the time they enclosed the fireplace. They kept their work area neat and were careful of plants and shrubs. The workmen were considerate and professional, always calling before arriving. We were really grateful Ricky Stroup and folks at Gutter Glove partnered with us when no one else would. They treated my home as their own and the workmanship is of the highest quality.

This was installed approximately 1 wk after sales pitch and contract signed. The installers are extremely nice and helpful and answered all of my questions. Installation went smoothly and product worked well. After few months, discovered that some blacker tar like material was coming off the valleys and plugging the screen allowing some water to drip over the edge of the gutterglove. The owner Ricky Stroup is extremely responsive and sent the installation crew back to review. They were aware that in a small number of new houses, the roof is known to produce this problem and can be up to 18 months for the condition to clear itself. In some areas of less significant plugging, the product could be cleaned and work well again, in other areas, small sections had to be replaced. This only happened in areas near a valley that had intense runoff and in my situation, I had one valley that had 3 large sections of roof that would feed to one gutter area. This replacement process has been done whenever the plugging occurs and the company is very responsive to this issue. Today was hopefully the last of the replacement times and I am confident that the product will continue to work well and that I can still get attention if further plugging occurs. The product is very high quality and made to last. The only suggestion that I would make is that perhaps the chance of the gumming material coming off a new roof might be discussed with clients and perhaps consider waiting 1 yr for installation to avoid recurrent service trips. I believe that the black gummy like substance coming off the roof can be detected at the splash block below gutter downspout that might predict whether this new roof problem could present a plugging issue. Also the number of valleys on a roof might help in assessing this possibility. I am very pleased with all facets of this company, product performance, and especially customer service.

The installation was good, the workers professional - no complaints with the entire process. It is the product that does not live up to the hype. I waited to write this review until we had used these gutter protectors for 3 years because durability and function are more important than initial impression. The Gutter Glove does keep leaves out of the gutters but it does not keep debris from piling up on top of the screens. The screens have to be swept off once a month or so, depending on the amount of rain. For low gutters, this is a nuisance, but not a problem. For the highest gutters, it is impossible for me as we do not have a ladder high enough. The gutter screens do not work in the downpours we get here in Western North Carolina. The water rushes over the top of the gutters - especially in corners. In fact, it has gotten so bad that I will need to hire someone to come clean and then install additional means of keeping these flows from damaging deck, driveway, front porch, and yard. We bought the Gutter Glove for $1256 (installed) to avoid these kind of issues because we are retired and not capable of constant cleaning of gutters. While this product DOES keep out the large leaves and debris, it isn't close to "maintenance-free" and it caused additional problems in the corners where the screens cannot handle the flow of water and debris piles up on top of the screen. Knowing what I know now, I would not buy this product again, nor do I recommend it. UPDATE: 3/07/2014. The4 holes are pretty plugged up now and the water rolls off the roof almost as if I had no gutters at all. I'll probably have to removed this horrible products. What a waste of money.

We met George Hobel, to representative of the company at the Ideal Home Show in Raleigh. He came soon after to give us an estimate for both replacing the roof and installing the Gutter Glove system, to stop the gutters clogging with leaves and debris. He was very enthusiastic, informative, professional and thorough. The roof installation was amazingly quick - just half a day. The crew swarmed over the roof like monkeys, quickly tearing off the old one and nailing down the new. Their work was very thorough and clean. They were praiseworthy in every way, and I would heartily recommend them for both services.

The demo went OK, I would not consider the two lower end leaf guard options as they seemed problematic. The top choice was expensive as I received an estimate for gutters on my front and rear porches approx. 44 ft., and guards on the remainder and the new install for $3772.00. my home is a single story ranch four straight gutters plus the added 44' for porches. I mentioned numerous times my need for maintenance free protection during the demo. nothing was said and I only discovered after being pressured to sign a contract right then, I said I needed to talk to my wife who was asleep ( he want me to wake her) wrong so he left and I read the full contract and undisclosed and on the back was a disclaimer that at the end of the installation I would be given a SPECIAL BROOM and need to sweep off the guards twice a year! Passed.

I did my research via the internet on many types of gutter cover type products. While I'm not an expert on these products, I knew what I wanted and the Gutter Glove more than satisfied my criteria. I went upstairs and looking out the windows, viewed the Gutter Glove in action. Worked as advertised. No more clogged gutters for me! They have to wait until after the roof is put on to do the work. I signed the contract with them. We made an appointment, and he showed up exactly on time. He showed me the product. I had already done some research prior to the meeting. I basically decided to go with that product; it was highly regarded on consumer reports. I just talked with them, and decided to go ahead and have them do the work for me.

It is a very high quality product so their prices are not cheap but I have got really high roofs and didn’t want to mess with these things again. They are very good to work with. They are punctual and very professional. They took their time explaining the product and how it is installed and all of this stuff. The initial estimate turned out to be more than what I wanted to pay but they were willing to work with me on that. The original product comes with 25 years of warranty and reasonable with what I worked with and we negotiated and what we ended up doing was reducing the warranty. The top line product didn’t really need to go that much so we ended up going with the middle of all and dropped it to a 15 year warranty and that got down to the price range that we wanted so it worked out good. I would recommend them.

The quality of the product seems very good and after 8 months we have had no problems. They showed up when promised, did a very neat and professional installation and cleaned up afterwards. We were very happy with both the product and the workers.
