After thorough review of all the gutter guard options available, and based on my experience with stormwater runoff, the gutter glove system definitely seems the best available. Very high quality materials. It is a bit pricey, however, it does seem the most likely long term solution. We are still deciding on which way to proceed.

Description of Work: GutterGlove was highly recommended in Consumer Reports. I contacted them thru the website. The have a franchise in Raleigh, NC that covers the Asheville Area. A representative promptly called me and made an appointment to see us in which he showed up on time. The representative was very informative and was happy to answer any questions you presented to him. He works part time and is retired. He has a degree in metalurgy so the information he gave about GutterGlove was more then adequate. Very freindly and personable. The crew came out on a holiday and did an excellent job on the installation. Job was completed with in less then 6 hours. The price seems high at approximately 17.00 a foot. However, once you find out why other systems do not work you can appreciate the quality material that is used here. They do offer different styles of GutterGlove to offer different qualities and price ranges. They offer an economy style which is very good but if you are looking for something more permanent you go with a higher quality. They offer a lifetime warranty. I was given samples of all three products. If you wish I can come to you and show you the different styles they offer. Just contact me at bjohnson77@aol.com Also included in the price I paid was a plastic protector that goes over the edge of the gutter. The plastic is formed in such a way that when the rain does go over the gutter edge for whatever reason (simply hitting the edge of the gutter instead of the roof) the rain is directed away from the gutter so that it will not cause mildew and staining on the gutter. This will make your gutters look like they are always new.

+ -1 moreWhen I moved up here to North Carolina back in 2005, the heights of the house and how tall the gutters were up from the ground was scary. So I initially found the cheapest product out there, and had the Gutter Filter installed. It kept getting clogged, and was such a headache to deal with. My neighbors on either side of me also had a gutter protection system installed on their house too. One had the Gutter Helmet type and the other neighbor had the Gutter Glove installed. So I had a bird's eye view of all 3 products functioning ( Gutter Glove, Gutter Filter, Gutter Helmet ). The result was I decided on the Gutter Glove. It was a smooth transition from dealing with Ricky Stroup ( Co-owner) in sales to installation by Tony. Ricky was thorough in showing me all his products, without any sales pressure. He would quickly follow up my emails or phone calls to him about any questions I had. That was really pleasant. Then there's Tony. I can't say enough good things about him. Tony is very professional and polite. He would answer any questions I had about the product. He did not show any irritation about my ongoing questions, but said to ask any questions I had while he was working. After the job was complete, Tony said that he would come back as often as he needs to in order to "fine tune" the Gutter Glove. He and Ricky have said that if I ever have any problems to please call and they will take care of it. Overall a very enjoyable experience. The best part is I will never have to get up on a ladder again to clean the gutters. Both Ricky and Tony said to call them first.

+ -1 moreTony did my work which took about 1 & 1/2 days. He was on time & very professional. He has come back a couple of times to tweak the system at no additional charge. Some areas of my roof/gutter system seem totally self clearing while corners where roof sections intersect (pine needles & tree seeds collect) do need to be cleared periodically with an extension handled brush. This is not difficult since the stuff just brushes off the guards & I don't have to get on a ladder because of the extension handle. The gutters don't clog but if there is too much needle buildup, some water will overshoot at the corners. Leaves don't seem to be a problem for this system and blow or wash off almost completely.
Description of Work: I was having trouble with blocked gutters & existing drainage pipes glogging & causing foundation leakage. The house is a 4,000sq ft "rambler so there is a lot of roof. The house had plastic DIY covers which proved almost useless over time & had to be removed to clean the gutters. Gutter Glove installed some additional gutters, covered all gutters and installed new water deversion pipes to get runoff away from the house foundation. My contacts with the company have been through Ricky Stroup who is listed on the company web page, Lou and the installer Tony.

The Gutter Glove system is the most expensive I've come across, but it is the best by far in terms of functionality and long term sustainability. Ricky Stroup did an outstanding job to tailor his proposal to my specific needs and budget. The amount of personal attention this company paid to my project was unbelievable.

+ -1 moreI had been looking for a gutter shield system to keep leaves and other debris out of the gutters so I don't have to get up on the roof twice a year to clean them. The Gutter Glove system is by far the best gutter shield system on the market. The representative of the company will bring a sample of the Gutter Glove shield to your house: a DVD will be provided to review the system, and he will measure your gutters and give you and estimate before he leaves. No high pressure to sign that day. A week later I called Mr. Edmunds to say that I would purchase the system. The work was done the next day! They subcontract out the work of cleaning and installation but the installers only install Gutter Glove shields(no other brands or types of gutter shields). I inspected the work afterwards. It was very well done. The finished product cannot be noticed from the street in front of the house.
